Here is what I think about that movie.

I get the message and the intent, and the director is a black woman who call herself Muslim and feminist.

However, the problem is that the movie and its director claims "denouncing sexualization of female children", but they do exactly that in the process, sexualizing children for profit in a commercial movie.

An adult made these kids dress like that, and instructed them to dance like that, for a movie that is essentially a commercial product that has been sold to distributors like Netflix. people are making money out of this. Keep in mind that the actresses in the movie clip are 11/12 year old.

So while I'm OK with the message, there is something extremely unethical with the use of prepubescent actresses in order to depict sexualization of children.

I'm not sure what the radfem position is, but to me it's engaging in the very thing the director claims they fight against and one cannot do that and not call themselves a hypocrite.

I think some are to blame in the sense that they came up with intersectionality which by itself created categories of women instead of uniting them. I remember when I was on r_gendercritical on reddit, there were posts about making sub forums only accessible to women that are at least 60% black. Or with the "karen" debate, where "black feminists" told other to "stay on their lane". That's the result of intersectionality. Either something is sexist or it isn't, it cannot depend what is the race of who says something. Same with racial divisions, you unite women by dividing them along race lines at first place, all that has nothing to do with feminism.

My last message on r/gc was on the sticky thread the day before eviction, warning the mods of the current election year environment and "moral panic".

Moving to saidit.net can only be a temporary solution. GC needs its own platform in order to stop being passive and start being actual activists because it's clear now that the left "hates" GC. I mean this is what "entrism" looks like, and intersectionaliy itself will always lead to entrism and feminism being co-opted by movements that have absolutely nothing to do with feminism. Intersectionality has voided feminism of its purpose and meaning, precisely because it asks feminists to think about all these "intersections". A movement can't be about every single possible struggles at the same time. Transgender activists don't have to care about feminism, they don't have to be interesectional, but feminists are asked to care about transgenderism because they have to be intersectional? Muslims don't have to be intersectional but feminists have to care about Islam because they have to be interesectional? And so on and so forth...

GC needs to forget about reddit (for now) and try to rebuild themselves with their own websites controlled by GC feminists. Any further activism of the sort on reddit is a waste of time for now.

I don't know. Don't people here find it strange that, in extremely conservative countries such as Pakistan or Iran, where homosexuality or blasphemy is punishable by death, they have 'transgender friendly' laws?

They'd rather think people are born in the 'wrong body' than acknowledging homosexuality, because it strengthen their idea of sex roles and sex stereotypes thus 'traditional family'. Only in the west that stuff is deemed 'a queer struggle' when it has absolutely nothing to do with sexual orientation.
