Before peaking, how much of an ally were you? by Dravidian in GenderCritical

[–]Criticalofgender 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I was a huge fucking Ally. The kind that thought that trans women should lead the women's march.

I've always been super sensitive about everything, and wanted to be kind and nice to everyone. However, I started questioning that speech because I was pretty brainwashed by being nice and kind and, well, how can you be the awful one that hurts these suffering people, am I right? But then several feminists helped me to peak, then the awful research made by TRAS and the JK Rowling issue were the final step.

I disagree. Asking for donations for such reason it's not ethically correct, whether I agree or not. People are in worse scenarios and are not begging for your money or your sympathy in any way, that's the problem. And taking advantage of people's good intentions... Even worse. And regarding the free society, that's really debatable. But thank you for sharing your thoughts!

It's something I really feel like doing, but I've already have bad experiences with friends and trying to say my point of view about the trans issue (let's just say I wasn't taken seriously and I was so overwhelmed that I cried), and idk, i don't know if I'm emotionally and psychologically capable of doing it. And sorry for telling my life, lol

YES! THANK YOU! Broke pal here as well. I hate to admit it but, I've donated to organizations that don't apply to my ideology anymore, I should have donated to home shelters. What I want to say is that neoliberalism is such a bitch that money seems to be sent to the most selfish and individualistic issues instead to real important issues. As someone said before, people are suffering from really difficult backgrounds and we are wasting time and money on this shit. I hate identity ideologies man, we need to focus on the real world.

I'm really sorry. I would suggest you to go to the hospital and do a medical exam, I'm not really sure how it works in your area but, in the case you want to fill a police report, you won't have any problem to prove that the rape happened.

Contact your family and/or friends that you truly trust and ask for support.

And finally, I read that you didn't find any good therapists in your area but, you will really find helpful right now and how to deal with this situation right now.

Again, I'm really sorry, you can contact me if you need any support.

Spain: - Our government is trying to legalize the self identification law but the gender critical feminists are fighting really hard against it. -There are lots of TRAS supportive of the Trans Laws, even in my own group of friends, I'm the only GC person and whenever I try to argue with them or star a debate, I'm completely shut down. However, on the other hand, on Twitter and on Instagram, many GC groups are created and are trying to fight the TRAS Movement (ex, the first LGB group without the T has been created a couple weeks ago). -There are so many feminists and/or communists/leftists on the Internet spreading facts and information about the dangers of the TRA movement and how the would affect women's daily lifes (another example, funds are being destinated to trans people but not to disabled people) And I think that's pretty much it. If someone who is Spanish would like to add something, is more than welcome. Hope that it helped!

Actually, most women here are so knowledgeable about gender issues and so polite that that's why I became GC! As some have said before, not all of us are like that but, for the most part and in my experience, they are super lovely and intelligent! I just remember how disappointed and sad I was when they banned GC from reddit and how people were saying that we were really violent which is far from the truth

I know its been discussed before, but I need clarification again - why is Transgender so much different than someone saying they are Transracial? I understood before - gender is not biological, etc. but now with the blurring of biology within this ideology I am confused with this argument. by lunarenergy8 in GenderCritical

Hi! First of all, thank you for taking the time to reply this question from your point of view. I don't really agree with your opinion because reality is not based on one's individual perceptions and/or feelings but on material proof that exists whether or not we want to believe it. I think wanting to be part of the oppressed class it's an invention created by the West and privileged individuals that don't understand these daily struggles, and tbh, they will never be able to understand it. Maybe you're not very comfortable being here and I totally understand if you don't want to, but I think maybe it would be interesting if you created a new post here like an "ask me anything". Anyways, appreciate your contribution to this debate!

I'm sorry that you did finish your friendship. If it helps you to feel less alone, I've also been in huge arguments with friends about the trans and gender ideology. I know how shitty it feels to feel like you aren't been listened by those who are supposed to be your friends and that they don't even try listening to your point of view, which is as important as anyone's.

I hope that you understand that you deserve people that are able to understand and/or speak about political issues in a constructive way. I'm sending you a huge hug.

I mean, I personally don't like Ellen. From her friendship with Bush to her complaints about living in her millionaire mansion during the pandemic, she doesn't seem like a genuine and "nice" person. I absolutely don't support the harassment and the "cancel culture" in any way, shape or form, and I'm sure she's receiving this treatment mainly because she is not "nice enough as a woman should be", however, as a host, and an entertainer, certainly you have to be at least friendly to your audience and your guests. And last but not least, I absolutely believe that she can be a nightmare of a boss, and more in the Hollywood world.

Despite that, she's is not responsible for any assault or any violent encounter made by men, I don't know if people are really assuming this but I've not read anyone blaming her for any assault. I've always thought that people didn't really like her because of how entitled and condescending she was.

Oh thank you so much! This is exactly the kind of insight I was looking for! So, I was debating between give it a chance or not because it could be about factual representation or just TRAs ideology, but from what you've said, it leads towards the ideology. I have mixed feelings towards Laverne Cox because I loved Orange is the New Black as a show and how (mainly) representative it was. However, her activism lacks empathy and she just focus on trans individuals, such as the trans prisoner (sexual abuser and rapist) she defended. Thanks again for your contribution! I'd love to talk more about movies and series and how they represent these kind of characters and how "real" are!

That sounds great! But I don't have many friends and it's quite sad to admit, but it is like that. I just wish people were a little more critical, you know, to question these things. They confused sex and gender all the time, and that gender is based on sex and stereotypes, it sucked.

Hi! Thank you so much for your comment! I noticed it as well! Monosexuals tend to agree more with the gender critical part! Man, it really affected me because I'm really hard on myself because of liking girls, and now that just because a man calls himself a woman as it is the same and ugh, I can't. I talked to my bisexual friend and apologized for hurting my feelings, but dude, I'm just remembering some parts of the discussion when they told me that I didn't believe in trans people (lol), when I said that trans women are still men. Anyways, I put up a good fight till the end, but I wished I wouldn't have reacted so emotionally, although it was the only time when they took me seriously!
