And of course all the Reddit comments are from men crying that they can’t access their favorite porn— they can still access porn, they just can’t access their favorite porn. Because that’s what’s important here— not removing videos of children and rape.

Strangely enough, I haven’t seen anything /r/feminism and /r/TwoXChromosomes about the issue....

Also shows the hypocrisy and blatant lies about respecting sex workers. If they did they would be fucking happy about this. Because it means less pirated porn uploaded by non content creators so in theory more money to the sex workers themselves through views and ads. Also when you fund content creators they get more money to increase the quality of their content. Nope, they just want their porn cheap and dirty.

Could it be that “respecting sex workers” really just means “don’t make me change my jerk off habits”? No.... never /s.

I posted to TwoXChromosomes and of course there’s people in the comments like “why is this specific to one gender?”

I just searched and there is still not a thread about it. So weird for such a big topic

The whining on r/news really convinces me that literally no one on Reddit cares about the exploitation that kickstarted this whole event, rather than just trying to figure out more ways to get their spankbanks back. I for one, as someone who has dealt with exploitation personally, am extremely happy that Pornhub considered the loss of major credit card companies pulling out from their services and decided to remove most of their content (and essentially killing itself it in the process, it seems). I know full well that other websites will fill this gap of exploitive videos and content, but this to me is a massive win.

Would you mind if I asked you what happened?

In the context of?

"as someone who has dealt with exploitation personally"

Oh, yeah, I do mind. It's not something I talk about lightly around others.

Got it.

Good news, way too much CP and revenge porn on that platform.

I don’t think this will even remove all the videos of assault or child abuse because it’s very easy to be verified. All you need is a photograph of you holding a piece of paper with your name and signature.

And I doubt it has to be your real name.

Wait seriously, that's it?! How have they not been shut down sooner?

[–]denverkris 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Because no one made them.

This is such great news! But sadly we already know what happens when content is blocked on the internet: it gets re-uploaded somewhere else. This is an important step towards people recognizing the harm sites like pornhub create, because the only why to eradicate porn, that is, filmed prostitution, is through education. Pornhub has made men believe they have a right to pornography, a right to women's bodies 24/7. It will be really difficult to change people's minds, even more now with onlyfans and such that makes porn seem fun and easy and profitable.
