TRIED to submit this on the website, where SB 00132 is listed as "corrections" and it just SPINS and won't submit. All my other webpages are working, so it's just the Newsom site. EVERYTHING about that greasy man is incompetent! Ah, FINALLY it went through. Online you have to give your name and email. I wrote this (which I'm sure will be ignored):

Please VETO this bill which endangers the lives of women. Men must not be allowed in women's prisons. Women in prison are vulnerable. Keep MEN out of women's prisons. We have sex-segregated facilities for a reason. Do not endanger women's lives.

I'm willing to bet software tabulated "Favor" and "Opposed" submissions, saving staffers from having to read more than a sampling of high volume issue emails.

I think we lost the war (in California) a long time ago. Women in prison are one of the most vulnerable people, addicts, victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse and sometimes, they are just there because they defended themselves ... and were already exploited by prison's staff in atrocious ways, they just let the foxes in the chicken pen without a single considerations for women. But we can document now the consequences of that atrocity so that it is not repeated anywhere else in US, gather testimonies of women subjected to vile TiMs. Californian elected officials who voted for that stuff will never be held accountable for the lives of women their ruined unfortunately.

I'm sorry but after things like that nobody in their right minds can ask me to vote for Biden or democrats anymore, and I won't.

The California state legislature, well, the Democrats, always manage to come up with some fresh hell for women, so I'm going to keep an eye on them.

California actually has one of the lowest voter participation rates in the nation, and about 40% of Californians do not speak English at home, meaning that there's a huge untapped immigrant vote, most of whom do not want men in women's spaces

Imagine if women's rights advocates could harness all those current non-votes? Let's do it.

Newsom is a gd dolt. However, as a narcissist himself, with political ambitions, can't hurt to call and threaten him with GC future non-support (and grudges held). Nicely.

Edit: additional So I went to gov.ca.gov and sent an email requesting veto. Same as user Our_team, email contact through website took 3-4 minutes to be registered.

This makes me sick. Now I wouldn’t be surprised if Leonard Lake, Charles Ng and Scott Peterson suddenly claim to be “female.” But quite frankly it doesn’t surprise me. Gavin Newsom is a cringeworthy SJW moron.

Can I call even though I'm not American?

[–]BEB[S] 24 insightful - 1 fun24 insightful - 0 fun25 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Yes. I call politicians far and wide, and often have long conversations with staffers.

What you can say is that as a human rights activists you fear that California is setting a precedent that will destroy women's human rights globally.

And you'd be right...

And I mentioned that this lack of consideration for incarcerated women's health and safety caused doubt whether California would be safe and welcoming place for (natal) women to visit or live. Edit: (I'm not a California resident.)

Fantastic! Thank you so much for taking action! Put the California state legislature on notice that women across the country and across the world, of all political stripes, are watching them.

PLEASE, ladies, no matter where you're from or what your political beliefs are outside of this issue, PLEASE KEEP CONTACTING POLITICIANS. Every woman's future is at stake.

The trans lobby has no hesitation astro turfing politicians' offices, so let's do some astro TERFing ourselves!

We often hear of TiFs peaking, but never of them organizing in opposition to trans issues and "victories" like this obvious assault on women. They are actually being exploited in a way that benefits the trans anti-woman agenda, by adding ex-women faces to their campaigns. As are, of course, the liberal feminist cohort which supports the same.

[–]BEB[S] 17 insightful - 1 fun17 insightful - 0 fun18 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I talked to some California legislative offices today, targeting "liberals" and you are 100% right - an array of "progressive," women's /gay right-ish sounding groups lobbied the CA legislature in favor of SB 132, so what could the poor legislators do in the face of so much "female" and "gay" support of SB 132 but vote for it?

That's why we have to make our voices heard. I gave the politicians offices a lecture on Big Pharma/Medicines' buying out of progressive organizations and told them that the only women and gays groups to trust were WoLF, FIST, the new WHRC and LGB ALLIANCE - that every single other org had been bought.

So PLEASE keep calling. But really we need to focus our efforts on the federal Equality Act, because that is the end of the line for American women's rights. I will do an action for that.

I don't believe most of those liberal feminists and TIFs are exploited, I think they are actively working against women's rights and safety.

They are the "left" equivalent of anti-abortion women.

I am not going to excuse them anymore for this: once upon a time I thought they were all victims, but the way they are acting makes me think most of them are not.

I know a lot of Californians and I will reach out to them. Does anyone have a few links on hand of the best examples of what happens when we allow men to self-ID into women’s prisons?

https://www.womenarehuman.com/four-times-as-many-men-in-prison-say-they-are-transgender-than-men-outside-of-prison/

Statistics from the Government Equalities Office show that an estimate of 200,000 people living in England and Wales identify as transgender. The percentage of inmates who identify as transgender exceeds by four times the percentage of self-identified transgender people in the general population.

The number of men applying to enter women’s prisons has also risen rapidly in the United States. The state of California recently voted to house inmates by gender identity, although the state had to reverse course seven years ago after the first male prisoner placed in women’s prison in the state, Richard Masbruch, was accused of sexually attacking female inmates, sparking public outcry.

April Halley, the author of this piece, has done a tremendous amount of work on Canada's policy of allowing men in women's prison.

Halley used to be on Twitter. but might have been banned because Twitter hates women. But if you do searches under "April Halley" you will probably find more of her work.

Also, FEMINIST CURRENT might have some more info on men in women's prisons, but check it out in any case because it's a fantastic online publication.

A lot of the British feminists orgs. have information on this issue. I will post if I find them.

Thank you. One of the things I know I’m up against is “why do you care so much and why should I?” Especially from liberal men. People are having a really hard time coming to terms with the consequences even if they would be sympathetic once they internalized them. People really just can’t believe this is coming out of the Left. They assume that because it is, it must all be a big misunderstanding. Thankfully I’m not especially known as an alarmist or being associated with any particular political movement or ideology, so I am at least not easily dismissed on those bases.

To get men to be empathetic about this issue I sometimes ask men if they would like to be in a jail cell with a man. I love to see the look of horror on their faces...

Even more infuriating that California is KNOWINGLY putting women in harms way!! Thank you for that information!

Are the transwomen celebrating this as one of their many victories? Sickening. I'm not American and underage, but is there any way I can help anyway?

I don’t have this data, but I believe that many transgender women has previous cautions for sexual assault. The combination of data on what happens when transgender women are put in a female jail and the criminal background of transgender women in prison should be helpful to try to prevent this insanity.

Since this law will require female correctional officers to do pat downs and strip searches of men - and that will put female officers at greater risk of being menaced, sexually harassed and sexually assaulted by male prisoners - the union for CA correctional officers (California Correctional Peace Officers Association) should be protesting this too.

But I've seen no mention of the bill on the union's website or FB page:

I left a message about this on the website's contact. Here's more contact info for anyone else who wants to do the same.

Fantastic work! Thank you! I will do the same.

Question to anyone: how is having to body search a male not sexual assault of the female officers?

Ladies, remember that we are fighting for women who can't fight for themselves.

Remember that the huge majority of these women are in jail for non-violent crimes, 82% of them have been abused (that's the ACLU statistic on women in California prisons from before the ACLU was bought by Trans, Inc.) and many are in jail simply for poor life decisions that stemmed from poverty and lack of opportunity to begin with.

I have to say that even after a few years of watching US female politicians' stances on this issue, and often talking to their staffs, I still cannot figure out if they're true believers or just bought by lobbies.

Most of these women politicians are at least in their 40s, so before Queer Theory took over universities.

Many are lawyers, including some who were prosecutors (Kamala Harris, a congresswoman in Pennsylvania who's a fucking Trans Demands Activist - I'll find her name - she's a sanctimonious piece of shit - sorry very angry today over SB 132).

How can they not realize that allowing ANY man to self-identify and access women's spaces, allows ANY man to self-identify and access women's spaces?

How can they not realize, after decades of living on this Earth, that men are on average stronger and faster and taller and will obliterate women on the athletic playing field?

Washington DC has the highest population of LGBTQ+ in the US, and, in talking to Congressional staff, I think a lot of them are young and work as Congressional staffers, so maybe the politicians aren't being given the full picture of what trans demands will do to women's rights.

But, again, any person who's been alive for more than say 25 years knows that men like to stick their male parts into female parts whether they've been invited to or not.

So my conclusion is that these female politicians must be bought, and must be so addicted to power that they will sell out other women for it.

Because the Equality Act is the nail in the coffin of what's left of women's rights, and EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRATIC FEMALE CONGRESSPERSON supports it.

I sent an email also. I hope that there is enough of an opposition that Newsom at least considers the veto. Probably not, but it's always worth a shot.

[–]BEB[S] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Thank you!

Especially in California, there are conservative groups who are fighting the good fight along with feminist organization WoLF (Women's Liberation Front) so Newsom is probably getting some pushback.

But the Democrats in the California state legislature basically disregard anyone who they think is a conservative, so that's why I keep saying to make sure and tell them if you're NOT a conservative.
