I honestly hope that when some woke suburban mom is outraged that her daughter's place on a team is taken, that there is a boy in the school changing room, some TiM goes after her for a thoughtcrime, wordcrime, or any other hideous "offense", that the womens' rooms now have men in drag, etc...that someone with a brain goes "you voted for this shit."

I mean... it wasn't really much of a vote. Trump might not have done that particular thing, but on everything else he's a disaster. He was hurting women on all sorts of issues. Like his mishandling of the pandemic - that affects everyone. Women are nurses and doctors caring for those affected, and having people they love die, or get sick themselves. If I was American, I would have voted for Biden too.

That is such a crap argument.... look at the countries in Europe that locked down far harder than the US. Guess what they're dealing with right now...? the second wave and they are contemplating locking down again. They came out of lockdown and it popped right back up. You cannot lockdown your way out of this virus, it isn't possible. There isn't anything he could have done. He couldn't order a national lockdown, he couldn't mandate masks nationwide, etc. That's just not how our government works. Also, Governor Cuomo of NY is lauded as some sort of hero by the media, despite multiple decisions which led to thousands of unnecessary deaths, but he is in the right party so he gets an absolute pass and a book deal. Biden has zero plan to handle it, none b/c at this point there is no plan, it just has to run its course with people masking up and doing what they can to prevent themselves from catching it. Notice how NONE of the various celebrations after he was "declared" the winner were described as superspreader events, yet every Trump rally was cited as the epicenter of a new epidemic ? Same thing for every BLM / antifa "peaceful protest" where buildings just happened to get looted and mysteriously catch fire. Those were totally fine, I guess you had to have a negative test to get into the riot zone. /s. What Biden does have is a compliant media, which will instantly take the case numbers and death tolls off the screens the minute he is sworn in and covid will cease to be the main story, day in, day out. just you watch.

As for hurting women, the Equality Act will hurt women in the long run far more than anything Trump would have done b/c it ERASES women as a protected class and the Democrats are all aboard the Woke Express, full steam ahead. They don't give two shits how many women get assaulted in bathrooms so long as the Clymers of the world have their feelz protected.

Seriously, the left is a major threat to women’s rights. It’s really scary. I hate to be the person that says may Biden be blocked from office, but I am far more afraid of my side when it’s a rabid cult.

is a compliant media

In Russia almost all media are speaking only how many people died to covid in Europe or USA, and never mentioning the situation in Russia itself.

[–]Finnegan7921 10 insightful - 5 fun10 insightful - 4 fun11 insightful - 5 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah, and that's what you'll get here, the minute Biden is sworn in. It will no longer be the top story. CNN will no longer be nothing but covid, all day, every day. The longer it drags on under him, the worse it would look and the media didn't spend four years trying to get Trump out just to turn on the guy they've propped up for months.

No, that’s patently false. All main news media broadcasters from Russia (which are easy to access both via satellite & via their online websites) are reporting DAILY the situation BOTH inside the country and internationally. For example, Channel 1’s website features daily reports & expert-panel discussions about the ebb-and-flow dynamics of local infection numbers, fatality numbers and convalescence numbers inside the country, with special reports from local hospitals and cities across the country, as well as discussions about mask-wear compliance dynamics in subway stations, shopping malls, etc.

[–]MezozoicGay 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I meant television mostly, all channels that are accessible here (on a border with Russia), are mostly speaking about situation outside and how badly it is done, only meantions of inside situation is when saying how good everything is, or reminders to wear masks. At least in the evening news, which I am checking time to time after work.

Their websites for some reason often less filled with propaganda (still having it, but just less of it), than broadcasts, especially non-russian versions of sites, which are almost completely different to original ones, some of them even have different sets of news for different languages.

ALL channels that are accessible here (on a border with Russia), are mostly speaking about situation outside […] ONLY meantions of inside situation is when saying how good everything is, or reminders to wear masks. At least in the evening news”

I don’t know what TV channels you’re watching, but the 2 main Russian TV channels (Channel 1 “Perviy” and Channel 2 “Rossiya”) provide sufficient essential coverage about the domestic situation regarding the pandemic.

In fact, especially during the lockdown months, that was their main news topic 24/7. And even now, post-lockdown, they continued hosting almost daily talk-shows with a whole range of medical experts & social commentators discussing the local situation from different angles (including even heated debates & mutual critique/arguments on those panels). The panels are hosted around breakfast-time GMT (lunchtime MSK time), but they’re available to view online anytime in catch-up TV mode (similar to BBC catch-up TV).

As for the morning, afternoon & evening news cycle - over the past ca. 7 months that I’ve been watching, the 2 main TV channels actually pretty much covered all the essential local pandemic information: (i) ongoing monitoring of daily variable increases or decreases in infection, fatality & convalescence cases (with visual graphs and commentary); (ii) local sanitising measures for public spaces; (iii) local mandatory social-distancing regulations for restaurants, theatres, museums, gyms, public transport, schools and universities (including distance-learning requirements); (iv) domestic flight and transportation restrictions; (v) discussions about the efficacy and affordability of different local anti-viral treatment; (vi) ongoing development of multiple local vaccines; etc, etc.

only meantions of inside situation is when saying how good everything is, or reminders to wear masks

No, there were plenty of Russian TV reports about various domestic challenges: (i) reports about outbreaks in various local regions (e.g. Tyumen region, Nenetsk district, Dagestan region, etc); (ii) the challenges faced by medical staff who do long shifts in hospitals; (iii) news coverage about some unfortunate tragedies, e.g. a ventilator machine in one of the hospitals malfunctioned and caught fire; (iv) TV coverage about bus passengers getting into arguments with each other because of mask non-compliance. Etc. They definitely did not present “only” a ‘rose-tinted’ view of “how good everything is”.

At the same time, there were obviously many positive reports: because, overall, the Russian universal healthcare system proved to be quite robust during this challenging year.

mostly speaking about situation outside and how BADLY it is done […] Their websites for some reason often less filled with propaganda (still having it, but just less of it)

Actually, Russian news reported in a quite positive light how well the situation was handled in the most efficient and proactive foreign countries (South Korea, Singapore, etc were referred to as “role model” examples because the citizens there acted very responsibly). Russian media was also mostly compassionate towards the plight of China (they didn’t onerously blame China like Fox News Channel sometimes does). Russian channels also acknowledged that even Sweden’s unconventional approach perhaps had some good merits (even though Sweden took a completely different, anti-lockdown approach compared to the rest of the world).

As for reports on “how badly it is done” in some other countries (like e.g. in Britain and the U.S.) - well, that’s simply an objective fact . It’s not “propaganda” if it’s (unfortunately) the actual basic truth. I’m usually resident in London - and Russian news were reporting everything more or less correctly about London. Even British news outlets agreed that the situation was indeed surprisingly mishandled (e.g. Londoners were advised to wash their hands to ward off the virus - but in the beginning there was suddenly no soap left in the shops!) and it didn’t help matters that the NHS has been in a deep deficit crisis for over a decade. So it’s not like Russian news were saying anything new or taboo - they simply repeated what British and U.S. media said.

Unfortunately, the fact is that many of the planet’s ‘leading’ countries were surprisingly ill-prepared for the pandemic (some developing countries surprisingly fared better than the developed ones). So I don’t think it’s wrong for Russian media to report on that and learn from other countries’ mistakes (as a cautionary tale). For example, they reported on the massive health crisis in Italy during the pandemic - but in a compassionate way, they weren’t celebrating the massive death toll in Italy.

Moreover, reporting on & comparing the health situation in foreign countries is VITAL during a Global pandemic - not only as a lesson about which approaches/methods work and which ones don’t, but also as an indication whether foreign travel to and from that country is safe or not.

broadcasts, especially non-russian versions of sites, which are almost completely different to original ones […] that are accessible here (on a border with Russia)

AFAIK, the official website of Channel 1 is only in Russian - they don’t seem to have “non-Russian versions” of the official website. (I’m fluent in Russian, my parents are from the border region as well, between Kazakhstan and Siberia, plus Russian is the 2nd official state language in Kazakhstan). And I checked - the hourly news that Channel 1 posts on their official website is the exact same as I get via satellite TV.

For online access to Channels 1 and 2 from abroad, I usually simply use VPN to access the official website or 3rd-party streaming services. Same as I do for U.S. channels which are often region-blocked for those living in Europe & Asia.

That's almost like the reverse situation of what it is here - none of the outlets are calling out Gov's sending covid patients into nursing homes and killing them - only criticising Trumpf for not knowing that Pearl Harbor was happening AHEAD OF TIME!!

To add to this, the same democrats who said We "Believe all women" said that Tara Reid wasn't raped by Joe. I 'Believe in the process' - That was said by one of the female leaders of the Democrat party.

Kamala said she believed Tara - until she was asked to be part of her rapists' campaign.

Tara's verbal account, if you haven't heard her talk about it on MSM.

The funny thing is that they are so fraudulent, yet get a free pass b/c they are in the correct party. Harris accused Biden of being a)racist, and b) a sexual harasser, yet jumped at the chance to work with the guy ? She said "that's just politics", which means she either believed none of it, or believes it and couldn't give a shit b/c he was her ticket to a position she could not have gotten any other way, and he only chose her b/c he painted himself into a corner by promising a woman of color as his running mate.

When Joe dodders off into the sunset and she takes over, the media will gush over "FINALLY, A WOMAN PRESIDENT"....while ignoring the bookends of her career to this point...began as her boss' side piece, ends with riding the coattails of an old white guy......a victory for women everywhere.

the Tara Reade thing really took metoo out at the knees b/c there was a) no instant belief of the accusation, b) a concerted rush to defend the accused, c)media silence for the most part, and d) a determined campaign to discredit her. That is the exact opposite of what they did to Kavanaugh and Blasey Ford whose account was so absurd...and then they get mad that Kavanaugh got upset during the hearing after being dragged as a rapist for weeks on end. The left is becoming a farce with the blatant hypocrisy.

Like his mishandling of the pandemic - that affects everyone.

I'm going to point out that when he was implementing his controversial partial china travel ban, this is what the dem politicians were doing - "We want people to be concerned but we don't want them to be afraid" while sitting indoors at a press conference with tons of people surrounding - the same person who now wants lockdowns- while that comment sounds awfully like what Trumpf claimed he was doing, to boot!

https://twitter.com/ddale8/status/1314010919186436098

And after Biden implied that this chinese ban was 'xenophobic', at least one member of the twitterazi decided to spin it to look positive for biden, and this follows for almost every biden controversy, but that could be an entire nother post.

Will anyone argue that having a salon opened for you during a pandemic, and NOT wearing a mask is the way to prevent covid??

Shes one of the leaders of the party and she wont even follow HER OWN RULES in her damn city!!!!!! How is this any different than the "Covidiots" we are told about all across MSM? Is it that this is a political leader and they cover up for the same behavior????

The people who gaslit you into thinking the democrats (politicians) give a single solitary shit about any one of us are conspirATARDed corporate handmaidens, who have no purpose other than to fool the public about the real stakes that we're in.

And to add to that, we hear all about TRUMPF cutting the CDC that lead to this??? What we arent told about, is ALL OF president Obama's repeated attempts to cut funding for the CDC before that!!!!

Trump cutting the CDC was a talking point that biden repeated again and again, he was never "factchecked" by these hosts

(Here is how the Trumpf gets factchecked, instead of a straight rating, they make it overly wordly.)

The truth about the parties is, one SAYS they care about womens rights, and does little to nothing, while one doesnt, and does little to nothing.

But, ONE of these parties has more money to spend on PR (Hillary's campaign spent .8b in 2016. That could have fixed [flint 3 times over]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1F3pImyGAY))

And I still won't forget about Tara, even though the entire party seems inclined to all but erase her experiences with Joe, (and Kamala herself said "she believed Tara"... but I guess she only believed Tara while she was on the debate stage - and THAT today, is what modern liberalism is.

Separate youtube link in case the hyper doesn't work- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1F3pImyGAY

Added thoughts -

are nurses and doctors caring for those affected, and having people they love die, or get sick themselves.

https://www.taiwannews.com.tw/en/news/3927369 Place the blame where it belongs.

I would have voted for Biden too.

Then you are the problem if you would support him without calling out his misdeeds, Joe is a big reason why we had no masks left (besides China ordering it's people to stockpile them from every storefront)- Near the start of their first term, he and Pres. Obama spent most (I think it was over 3/4ths) of our national mask supply, and they NEVER REPLENISHED IT!!!!

And lets ignore that President Obama repeatedly TRIED to cut the budget of the CDC... but our media overlords won't let us talk about that, because winning for the dems is their only goal.

That's a PDF from the CDC showing the 13M cuts to Emerging and Infectious Diseases, STI/HIV prevention, and others, during Obama's presidency. Including defunding childhood vaccines for a total of 1b.

And funding for the CDC is ironically higher under Trumpf - for many reasons, even though Joe and other Democrats repeatedly claimed that Trumpf had "DEFUNDED" the CDC. -They did NOT get factcheck pushback from their interviewers- not Once.

+ the Trumpfler has also QUADRUPLED mask production in less than a year - you can't spin up factories overnight (as tesla's failed QC will show you) and not a single media outlet will tell us this fact.

That's all I'm typing on this for now- because this election was totally bullshit - it was stolen from the people, and if you cared about this world at all, you would have fought Bidenpfs horrible policies before the TV told you to vote for him, but it sounds like you're yet another Caffé Liberal. Turn off the Television, and go to sleep, while the man who arcitected the Iraq war kills ANOTHER 100,000 poor women and children who you don't care about because you still have your $5 lattè.

I think Biden might calm the trans issue. When trump banned trans people from the military it became 'cool' and anti establishment to be trans and if you said anything against it you were seen as Conservative or 'one of the bad guys'. I'm hoping taking away trump will make it easier to have grown up conversations about it.

[–]MarkTwainiac 38 insightful - 1 fun38 insightful - 0 fun39 insightful - 1 fun -  (20 children)

I think Biden might calm the trans issue.

Biden, his family, and their foundation have been big backers and major funders of the trans movement and gender ideology for years.

https://www.republicworld.com/world-news/us-news/sarah-mcbride-shares-story-about-joe-biden-late-son-beau-from-time-when-she-came-out.h

https://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/04/us/politics/pledging-to-fight-injustices-hillary-clinton-focuses-on-transgender-rights-in-speech.html

Biden and his foundation have put a great deal of effort into the campaign to lump together the LGB with the TQ-WTF? and to make all the other letters subordinate to the T and Q.

In 2018, Biden exploited popular interest in stopping bullying and being accepting to to launch a public service campaign that promoted trans lobby propaganda. The campaign was kicked off with a video claiming that "40% of trans and gender non-conforming adults" have attempted suicide - "most of them before age 25."

https://youtu.be/zFzjPorIkvs

The Biden Foundation created a video series celebrating the transing of kids and teens. Since Biden became the Dem POTUS nominee, the foundation has been shut down and much of the content on it has been scrubbed, but some of the videos celebrating of transing of children and teens can be seen on FB:

When trump banned trans people from the military it became 'cool' and anti establishment to be trans

Trans was considered cool and anti-establishment many, many years before Trump announced the military exclusion in 2017. If you think transgenderism and queer theory are recent phenomena, you are mistaken.

Trump's election in 2016 was a response to a vast number of things that had long been going on in the US. One of the things, albeit not a major one, was the rise of transgenderism.

The Obama administration (of which Biden was a part) issued its infamous letter informing schools in the US that take federal funds that the adminstration had re-interpreted Title IX to mean that students must be allowed to participate in school sports and use facilities such as locker rooms, toilets, showers and dorms based on their "gender identify" rather than their biological sex in May of 2016. With this executive move, the Obama Biden admin put an end to female-only school athletics in the US, and took away the rights of female as well as male students to have any sex-segregated facilities like locker rooms and showers too.

At that point, Trump wasn't even the Republican nominee yet.

https://www2.ed.gov/about/offices/list/ocr/letters/colleague-201605-title-ix-transgender.pdf

The controversy over TIM MMA fighter and former Marine Fallon Fox being allowed to beat the crap out of women took place in early 2013. Back then, the mainstream press still allowed people like like Joe Rogan and Rhonda Rousey to voice criticism of Fox, but the media were already laying the grounds to paint anyone critical of Fox as old-fashioned, intolerant and "anti-LGBT." What's more, the mainstream media were also printing preposterous statements like this without questioning either the extraordinary claims ("no natural physical advantages") or the untruthful language (referring to Fox as female):

According to Drs. Marci Bowers, MD and Sherman Leis—two transgender health experts interviewed by Bloody Elbow's Stephanie Daniels—Fox should biologically have no natural physical advantages over her fellow female opponents due to her years of gender reassignment and horomone [sic] therapy.

BTW, Biden has already said that on his first day in office he will

reinstate the Obama-Biden (Title IX) guidance revoked by the Trump-Pence administration, which will restore transgender students' access to sports, bathrooms and locker rooms in accordance with their gender identity.

What's more, he's gonna crack down on everyone who doesn't think this policy is fair too:

He will direct his Department of Education to vigorously enforce and investigate violations of transgender students' civil rights.

(Note the worrying way the Dept of Ed is called "his" rather than "the")

No mention of the civil rights of any other students, and the way transgenderism tramples on them. Trans students don't just come first - they are the only ones who appear in Biden's field of vision and register on his radar. To him, female students are invisible.

What the most scary in this, is that USA are always exporting their politics and ideas to other countries, so this will mean that it will be pushed in many other countries as well. We already had their hand (maybe even Baiden actually, as they had here some corruption scandals and some questionable fundings) in funding trans lobbies here in Ukraine, and they started coming from homophobic side "make your kid straight" (and for me, as lesbian, this means society can be returned back to post-USSR age, when I was fired from jobs and beaten by classmates for being lesbian, I hope people will think more than in USA, as our language just not allows this word-play bullsh*t that English allows).

And this too, with erasure of women: https://twitter.com/AlessandraAster/status/1325524037628522497

and investigate violations of transgender students' civil rights.

They will punish girls for not wanting boys with errected penises who are "just started transitioning" in their shared school/university showers/toilets?

This. Lately, I've seen many American women getting angry with foreigners who are not thrilled with Biden's win. It's like they don't understand how influential their own country is. Biden will push the TRA agenda in many other countries besides the US.

Here is an news article where Biden says he will continue the age-long American tradition of lecturing other countries about human rights.

Edit: Also, I think several of us are puzzled about how many American women are so conviced the Democrats care about women's rights and they just don't have all the facts about the Equality Act and TRA.

I saw such post on Ovarit. They were like "Trump wasn't good for us, Baiden will be slightly better", and were ignoring that Trump was mostly bad for USA only (and, well, he was empowering China, which was bad for some regions of Asia, but that's it), while Baiden will be "a bit better" for USA, but much-much worse everywhere else. And everyone who disagreed were downvoted (I still think adding downvotes was a bad idea, as instead of people making an argument - they just putting "minus one" instead).

Edit

What I've seen (on Twitter and Ovarit) is that they are saying "Baiden at least can be reasoned, while Trump will not listen for sure".

Yes, all the women I've seen in GC circles who lean toward Trump are from UK, Canada, etc... places where trans laws have already gone too far, and we're all trying to warn US women not to go down that road because once the US goes down the trans rabbit-hole it'll be harder for the rest of us to scale it back. But many American women are completely set on Biden being better for women than Trump.

Posie Parker is a good example. She's very anti-Biden and said she'd vote for Trump if she were American despite being pro-choice and liberal-leaning all her life.

edit: Or who knows, maybe if the USA goes full TRA it'll peak a lot more people and things will push back. Maybe next year if a bunch of trans laws are passed followed by trans-women entering the Olympics, we'll see some major peaking. I'm not super hopeful though considering how much the media drooled over the "stunning and brave transwomen" who were elected this past week.

I am saying my own opinions here.

I believe a large percentage of US women who either vote Republican, or are willing to consider, research, and vote any/all parties on their ballot, are persons who may be less likely to announce their vote in public forums. Or, perhaps it is a function of age, or regional customs.

Casting one's vote has traditionally been a private issue. I remember the large, metal, mobile, voting booths which had mechanical curtains that would close via a large lever to set the machine to vote. After selections were made, the large lever was thrown back to the original position, logging the votes and opening the curtain. Even today, in my region, cardboard tabletop "cubicles" are set up for privacy. I know my own opinions on discussing my votes casts have been heavily influenced by my mother, who had me with her in the booth when she voted until I was old enough to look out for my own safety (13 yo?). She emphasized the importance of voting, women's history, and how she evaded my father's influence on, and inquiries of, her votes. ;)

I am most grateful women from UK and Canada have spoken up and worked to keep women from being erased and used/abused. Personally, I believe women are DONE if we have no language, visibility, or respect. I try to imagine (especially political) trends and movements to their potential conclusions, and this "gender not sex" protections threat is TERRIFYING. Evil people do exist, and women themselves MUST admit dystopia IS possible, nah, I submit: probable.

You're not liberal if you 'like' Biden. In the age of police protests - he was saying he will INCREASE funding. He picks a running mate who LITERALLY kept innocent men in jail - and extended prison terms - TO KEEP SLAVE LABOR GOING!!!! (BuT sHeS bLaCkKk!!!! - MSM)

He is the creator of the 90's "Crime bill" that overly increased incarceration and maximized sentences, including nonviolent offences like selling weed, and until he was running in 2020, he never once said he was sorry for it.

"we do everything but hang people for jaywalking" - Joe biden, 1994ish I think.

And lets ignore that he helped kill 10s of thousands of innocent women and children. They are neoliberal monsters and they are no better than Bush, and its a COMPLETE shame that the democrat party considers EITHER of them heroes in 2020.

I tend to think that it's a combination of the following:

  • Seeing this as a do-over for missing the boat on LGB rights. Most Democrats assumed that unapologetic homophobia would always be the public's default setting, and thus spent years tip-toeing around it with things like "civil unions", the so-called Defense of Marriage Act, and "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"... until popular opinion suddenly did a 180 and their "safe" position no longer was. (Sure, Biden spoke out in support of marriage equality before Obama did, but that was still long after the tide had already turned.) They don't want to be wrong (or caught flat-footed) again. Of course this isn't Gay Rights 2: The Sequel at all, so where did they get that idea? Why, from all the major LGB organizations telling them that trans = gay, that's where.
  • Family loyalty. And to a beloved son who died tragically, at that. Among Beau Biden's friends was trans woman Sarah McBride, who became a de facto member of the family through him. And if Beau thought that McBride was OK, then how can "her" cause ("trans rights") be wrong? Or at least Beau's dad might naturally tend to make that assumption.
  • Not wanting to seem out of touch. Hey, "trans rights" is what all the kids are doing! Biden's no spring chicken, and he knows it. This may look like just staying current to him. And any doubts could be chalked up to, "I'm old and set in my ways, that's all; young people have no problem with it-- try to be more like them!"

If true, it might mean that Biden isn't ride-or-die for genderism, and facts have a chance with him... but I'm aware that this might just be wishful thinking.

I would doubt that, his Wife's husband at the time he met her has claimed that Joe ended their marriage - and he fought fervently for the war in iraq (in the 90's!), he deported MORE people than Trump! And he voted to overturn Roe v Wade via the states in an amendment.

Joe Biden is further right of George W. Bush. And he will 'listen to the scientists' but increase fracking (ʕ ‾ ʖ̫ ‾)ʔ...

Transhumanism has a huge lobby behind it— tons of money. Biden and his ilk have sold women out for campaign support.

Oppressing women is probably one of their main goals. Can’t create a sci-fi dystopia without harvesting women’s organs, surrogacy, sex work, eradicating maternal rights and experimenting on children.

I can’t think of why else women’s rights have been so heavily targeted in “developed” nations so quickly, and how almost all social media and internet platforms have gone on a banning spree/attacking women. I think wearing us down via psychological warfare is also part of their goal. Biden and other politicians are useful tools they use to reach their goals.

Yeah, wait till all those suburban Republican women who voted for Biden start to digest this crap, when it's their daughters having to compete with someone else's special snowflake son. sure, wait til their "internal polling" brings this to light. I'm hoping taking away trump will make it easier to have grown up conversations about it.

Trump wasn't the reason we couldn't have grown-up conversations about it. It wasn't Trump supporters that were calling women terfs, threatening women with rape and murder, destroying women-only spaces, and demanding that lesbians suck girldick. The people doing that stuff are still around, and will be emboldened by Biden's election.

This would be like Blaming Biden's support for the iRaq war on Bush. Biden supported it in 1994. These trans pretending male bigots didn't suddenly exist after november 5 2016.

Trump is at least partially to blame.

Is that because of his speaking out against political correctness? I don't see how THAT ALONE made it worse - and not the constant stimulus people have by eating the Social Media propoganda which has only grown UNDER trump (not because of him- unless he controls the board of twitter, reddit, et al).

And Twitter, facebook, and even google LIMITING the posts you will see, so you get more feedback loop of absolute insanity - those are PRIVATE companies and the trumpf can't directly control them - even though he's tried to repeal 230 to reduce the censorship on them.

IDK if we wouldnt have the scourge of trans pretending males becoming 90% of Reddit mods if Trump hadn't won in office. But do explain that one to me.

I can agree with these problems with Biden and the Left and also believe that it would not have reached the same level of insanity without any degree of scrutiny if virtually anyone other than Trump was President. I agree with your take on a lot of this but unlike you I have liberal values so I do have some insight into both sides including more insight into how the woke minds work and the difference between those who are merely being misled and the truly dangerously delusional.

Trump never banned trans people from the military. People with ongoing medical and psychological problems were barred from joining. A lot of trans fall into that category.

[–]VioletRemi 24 insightful - 5 fun24 insightful - 4 fun25 insightful - 5 fun -  (8 children)

Well, banning transes from military made sense because of the mental condition, as there people will be shouted on, injuries, mental pressure and maybe killing of people or deaths of your friends. So obviously if person can't take being misgendered and cries out or becomes agressive - then they are not mentally ready for a military service.

[–]MarkTwainiac 29 insightful - 1 fun29 insightful - 0 fun30 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

The ban made sense for a simpler reason too: The US military has always banned people from serving if they have any mental health or physical problem no matter how minor. Such as bone spurs on the heels - which is how Trump got out of the draft when he was young.

Anyone who is dependent on taking regular medication has always been automatically banned from joining the US military, coz when out in the field there's no way to guarantee they'll be able to get their meds.

[–][deleted] 20 insightful - 2 fun20 insightful - 1 fun21 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

And you don't see the hypothyroid contingent having meltdowns over it either. Or diabetics, or the young guy I met once in the US who got medical discharge from a military desk job for carpal tunnel. He was disappointed but he moved on with his life and wasn't literally murdered.

[–]VioletRemi 14 insightful - 1 fun14 insightful - 0 fun15 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Then even less reason for them not being banned in USA.

Here (and in all post-USSR countries and USSR) - people in military are more "disposal" and military is obligatorily for all men and some women (my father is victim of such system, he became broken person after returning from there, not sure if it was the reason of him becoming an asshole tho). Our country is trying to go the professional army route instead of "throwing bodies USSR style", tho - so maybe it will change with time. However, because of Russian invasion and permanent war activities on border with them, it was halted for now. So we here can have in army even half disabled people, they would be sitting headquarters doing paper work. And mostly mental issues and some other disabilities are the only reasons to not get into military for both men and women.

Mother said he was pretty decent person before, but a bit selfish and narcissistic.

He wasn't on war in my country, it was in USSR, and not war - there two trains collapsed, and military was sent to sort bodies and metal out, so he spent few days sorting dead bodies and human pieces. Mother saying after that he started to drink alcohol all the time, and with each year passing his mind was becoming worse and worse, until he started beating mother when I wasn't at home and being agressive to me and my younger sister.

His older brother and my grandfmother suffered there as well.

And me, as lesbian, would be outlawed there as well.

So I have pretty biased vision of it, as it hurted my family (including myself) multiple times and very hard.

Here (and in ALL post-USSR countries and USSR) - people in military are more "disposal"

What does the "USSR" even have to do with any of this. And what's the point of dragging it up, like an off-topic piñata, in a discussion thread about a completely different issue - i.e. the Gender Critical topic here was the controversial legislative Trans policies promoted by the modern upcoming U.S. Cabinet, including the current Transgenderism challenges for the U.S. military.

As a fellow ex-Soviet person (born in Central Asia, half-Kazakh and half-Slav), it’s becoming a bit tiresome seeing (some) Ukrainian posters obsessively trying to squeeze in bizarrely sweeping, negative comments about “all” “post-USSR” countries (including Central Asia), the “USSR!” and “Russia!” into virtually any online discussion (even into a discussion about Trans legislation in North America that has literally NOTHING to do with the “USSR”, lol).

As for the point itself - well, breaking news: people in the military are (very often) treated as "disposable" almost everywhere across the whole planet Earth. It’s NOT some kind of unique ‘Slavic’, ‘Central Asian’ or ‘Soviet’ ‘special’ trait. A female recruit from e.g. Texas or Idaho (who is e.g. deployed to go die in endless wars for the Pentagon) is equally treated as “disposable". In fact, I think big North American and West European countries often treat their recruits as even more recklessly and needlessly “disposable" (sending them to other far-away continents to die or lose limbs in endless catastrophic, Imperalist 'wars for oil' in the Middle East / West Asia, etc). There's an apt colloquial word for it in the U.S. and Britain - soldiers, including female soldiers, are often described as "cannon-fodder".

“Our country is trying to go the professional army route instead of "throwing bodies USSR style"

Throwing bodies “USSR-style”? Again, the “USSR” has nothing to do with this. Most of Eastern Europe already had a long tradition of drafting conscripts BEFORE the USSR was even created. It’s silly to point to the USSR for something that was already endemic & deeply customary for most of the region. E.g. World War 1 (pre-revolution) already had mandatory military conscription for men.

The USSR did not ‘invent’ the draft. There’s surprisingly even a mandatory universal draft in countries like Switzerland. France is also currently introducing new laws that may require some military or alternative service for all young people, including young women potentially.

Moreover, even countries like the States (which invade other continents using a 'voluntary' army) STILL have a federal law which potentially allows compulsory conscription of men between the ages of 17 and 45 and certain women for military service in certain emergency situations (Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution and 10 U.S. Code § 246).

Anyway, it’s important to remember that having a professional (a.k.a. ‘volunteer’) army is ALSO “throwing bodies”. BOTH a conscript army and a volunteer-recruited army are, essentially, “throwing bodies”. Each format has its benefits and drawbacks. Each country can decide which format it wants, but it’s very naïve & over-simplistic to think that one is automatically better than the other.

I used to live in Texas (coincidentally one of the biggest places for Pentagon military recruitment in the U.S.). I saw MANY returning veterans crippled, mentally & physically, by unnecessary Imperialist wars. Suicide rates for such veterans are also quite high. Most people who enlist in ‘volunteer’ armies are usually from poor or working-class families - and they often do so not just because of ‘patriotism’ or military ‘perks’, but also because many come from poor towns and have few other employment options. So the result of ‘volunteer’ armies is also very problematic: many of the so-called ‘voluntary’ recruits are from the lower, more impoverished, rural classes, pushed to die in wars started by the upper urban classes (most of whom don’t volunteer). Such an unbalanced system creates an even bigger, deeper social divide between the socio-economic classes, between the haves and have-nots. It cements systematic classism.

"Our country is trying to go the professional army route ... However, because of Russian invasion and permanent war activities on border with them, it was halted for now."

Again, why are Ukrainian posters trying to squeeze in an over-simplistic comment about a “Russian invasion” into a discussion about …. Transgenderism (!). Anyway, that border conflict is far more complicated than that. Ukraine kept a military draft not originally because of “Russia”, but because the North-Western region in Ukraine created a violent REVOLUTION / COUP (depending on the PoV) and overthrew the elected government which was voted in and majority-supported by the South-Eastern region in Ukraine. The revolution resulted in social division and civil unrest (because many in the South-East didn’t support the controversial ‘Revolution’) - so in the ‘post-Revolution’ explosive situation the gov’t decided to maintain the military draft.

And the “permanent war” is not simply against “Russia”, but against the Russian-Ukrainian ethnic majority in the South-East, many of whom did not support the violent Revolution/Coup and its results.

But the draft actually did NOT help, it backfired. Because, ironically, in the aftermath of the Revolution, during the counter-revolutionary revolt in Crimea, the drafted Crimean military mostly defected to the Russian side (e.g. 8,000 drafted South-Eastern Ukrainian soldiers defected, according to Ukraine’s chief military prosecutor, Anatolii Matios). The population of Eastern Ukraine and Crimea have a sizeable mixed-ethnic Russian-Ukrainian majority (as Crimea was originally settled by Russian-ethnic Navy families after the peninsula was won by them in a war against the Ottoman Empire/Turkey). In most elections in the 21st C, the South-Eastern & Crimean electorate (unlike the North-Western electorate) consistently majority-voted for candidates running on a platform against integration with EU/U.S. globalists and in favour of closer historic bonds with Russia and Central Asian ex-Soviet Republics instead. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2014/01/24/this-is-the-one-map-you-need-to-understand-ukraines-crisis/?arc404=true

Anyway, it's now 'fashionable' to vilify "the USSR" as if it was Dante's Inferno, but at least in the USSR we all (Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Ukrainians, Russians, Armenians, Azeris, etc) learned to live together in peace, we sent the first-ever woman into space, we collectively created the first universal healthcare system in the region, the first subsidised affordable university system, etc (systems that even 'advanced' societies like the States don't have yet), etc. Whereas now, without the USSR bringing everyone together, many nations in the region started fighting and bickering, old grudges re-surfaced, revolutions here, revolutions there, government coups, ethnic tensions, mayhem. We abandoned the USSR in favour of becoming like the chaotic, war-torn Balkans.

I wish Charlotte Clymer would just disappear.

I've heard it said that a Biden presidency will force transactivism and gender identity issues into the open. This is an ideology that does better hiding in the shadows and piggy backing on more sympathetic coattails. I have to cope that when people see gender ideology laid bare - and transactivists don't have Trump to blame for hurting their cause - there will be a mass peakening.

I do believe that day is coming, anyway. It's becoming increasingly difficult to look away from the lawsuits against the Tavistock, pediatric transition and female erasure. Here in Canada, one of our national newspapers has recently published two columns by Barbara Kay about the sports issue and the absurdities of the trans lobby.
