It sounds like Arty had been working through the suicide of an AGP friend of his. He's been dragged relentlessly lately by YouTuber You're Kiddin' Right and her followers for discussing his views that AGP needs to be better understood for having sympathy for dysphoric males.

Edit: Glinner discusses this incident in this week's "What Happened To The Mess" video.

I'm surprised Cosmo hasn't buried this article.

Seriously, it's clear where Page's mental health issues stem from. It's sad to read her claiming to want to help other people struggling with their sexuality, and years later re-invent herself as anything but a woman and lesbian. I would love for someone to ask her if she still considers herself to be 'same-sex attracted'.

I tread very carefully. It's a difficult subject to broach if you don't know where people are on the issue, and I'm wary of being accused of being paranoid or a transphobe, especially with people who are friends or co-workers (and who else am I going to talk to?) I'm careful to assess people's own level of involvement with the subject before discussing it openly. I've discovered the hard way that some of my LGB coworkers who I had initially thought were gender critical (or should be!) have drunk the Koolaid. I was having a rough time last week when my butch lesbian co-worker sent me an email with 'she/they' pronouns. Sigh. Then last weekend my closest work buddy started ranting to me about how our Wokeplace has turned the changerooms gender-neutral (seriously!) and that's how I discovered that she and her bf are gender critical AF. Small victories!

The 41% thing has been long debunked. The success of people like Levine and so many others clearly demonstrates that trans status (for those born male, anyway) isn't holding anyone back. I believe there are stats which show that transwomen are more likely to be perpetrators of homicide than victims of it. The sheer number of violent transwomen in prisons applying for transfers would seem to be a testament to the fact that no, this is not a marginalized and vulnerable population.

I do think society is very quickly peaking, however. The thing about trans awareness is that making people aware of what trans is doesn't do 'trans rights' any favours.

For all the talk of raising 'awareness' about trans rights, trans activists clearly exploit people's ignorance about gender identity and self-ID when they're campaigning for change. Most people assume that 'trans' necessarily entails sex reassignment surgery. Hell, my bf thought they literally transplanted women's sex organs into transwomen. Define 'woman'. Define 'transwoman'. There wasn't any. The OP in the thread I saw (it was a few months ago on r/startrek) was claiming that it was racist that Geordi's character was awkward with women and couldn't get a girlfriend. There seems to be a trend of revisiting old TV shows and movies with a 'social justice warrior' lens. After all, if our society is institutionally racist now, it had to have been back then, too, for the Critical Race Theory narrative to make sense.

There's a lot of cognitive dissonance. I truly believe everyone (who isn't an autogynephile) would be gender critical if they really truly connected the dots and thought things through logically. What does 'woman' mean? Is it a biological class or a head feel?

Transactivists have successfully used a combination of emotion, suppression of free speech and manipulation of language to control the narrative. Many people simply think they're behind on the times when they're told that 'sex is a spectrum' or that 'homosexual' is no longer a legitimate term.

Detransitioners and the movement of the medical community away from puberty blockers and pediatric transition (as is starting to be exposed by Abigail Shrier) may be a major turning point. Once the 'trans kids' myth is busted, gender ideology loses a lot of its perceived legitimacy.

Traumatised employees living in fear as BBC expected to quit Stonewall’s Diversity Programme by Chunkeeguy in LGBDropTheT

I've never understood why anyone thinks it's appropriate for an organization - especially a taxpayer funded one - to have a formal relationship with any special interest group. Stonewall's Diversity Programme is even more insidious in that it was essentially blackmailing these organizations into doing its bidding under threat of being labelled 'transphobic' or 'not an ally' or whatever. And misrepresenting the law in ways that put it's 'client' or 'partner' organizations in legal jeopardy.

All of these organizations wouldn't be walking away from Stonewall if Stonewall had provided actual value.

I'm hoping this will be like Maya Forstater's case; overturned by the lower courts, vindicated by the higher ruling.

Between this and Abigail Shrier's recent interview with the two transwoman doctors pushing back on puberty blockers, pediatric transition is being pushed into the spotlight.

The environment is completely different but she can't comprehend the real difference because she doesn't want to acknowledge that she isn't young anymore. The Internet I grew up with and spent a lot of time on is entirely different from the one my sister who is 10 years younger experiences now.

This. I remember being a teenager on AOL chat doing the a/s/l thing. There were predators online back then but I regarded the online space as much more of a fantasy realm/ abstraction. We didn't have cell phones and web cams and we had limited access in any case, so it was easier to create a mental barrier between the online space and real life. We don't have that barrier now with social media. If you're getting dogpiled on Twitter or Facebook it's hard to ignore it and walk away.

Hortense strikes me as someone who says and does a lot of inappropriate things on the internet, likely involving minors, and doesn't want to be accountable for it.

90-95% of the male population is straight, and straight men want real vaginas, so those gay men will not see any increase in their dating pool.

This. I've heard of HSTS finding loving relationships, but they were invariably ones who acknowledged that they were trans, and partnered with men who knew they were trans, and were typically explicity seeking transwomen (Arty Morty has an interview with one such HSTS).

The current crop of HSTS bent on believing that they are literally women, and trying to justify catfishing and rape by deception are in for a world of disappointment. I've seen videos of them on YouTube ranting about their predicament, and the 'transphobia' they face when the men they lie to lose interest.

I'm less clear on how FtMs are doing in that department, but I can't think of many examples of FtMs I've seen on YouTube or elsewhere who have partners, with the exception of JammiDodger (whose gf is bisexual)

She says she 'feels awful', but she seems pretty comfortable posting about it for internet likes. I mean, I'm not inclined to defend the Jan 6 riots, but the Facebook comments seem like the equivalent of drunken bar banter. Is there any evidence that this former best friend is actually planning to harm people?

It disturbs me how eager people are to report on others for speech they don't like. The definition of hate speech has become 'speech that I hate'.

There are a lot of rumours that the next Bond will be a woman. There's a black female 007 in No Time To Die, but it's not clear that she's meant to replace Daniel Craig. Woke retconning has already destroyed Star Trek, Star Wars and Dr. Who. I don't know why studios haven't 'woken' up to the fact that audiences hate this.

These Woke filmmakers don't have enough creativity to develop an original concept that succeeds on its own merit, so they have to draw on the fanbase of an established franchise.

Frankly sex and sexuality are such an integral part of Bond that making the character anything other than a heterosexual male would radically alter the nature of the character and the films. It just doesn't work.

I agree - context matters. It can also be highly subjective. I just get the impression from this ruling that the terms used were deemed wrong solely because the claimant didn't identify as a woman, not because of any other context.

Yes, some terms like "sweetheart" and "honey" can be used in belittling, sexist ways meant to cause offense. But not always.

Agreed. This ruling gives me the impression that those terms are only considered inappropriate because the claimant doesn't identify as a woman. As though if she 'identified' as a woman, the sexist terminology would be somehow appropriate.

Yes I'm the same. The parenting theme of the 80s and 90s was the abolition of gender roles, particularly for girls. I feel like this mentality evolved (or devolved) into the trend of 'theybies'; progressive parents trying to escape socially imposed gender stereotypes by denying or hiding their child's sex altogether. I think there's a pretty straight line from that to modern gender ideology, which ironically has come full circle be reimposing sexist stereotypes under the guise of progressivism.

I was wondering about that. I don't think they know how. They just think they're adopting some gender-transcendent identity.

It's truly scary to me that this is a thing and that this transman's ploy to destroy the life of a girl he deceived for months will quite possibly work.

There's a similar post over on r/gendercritical about a transwoman catfishing a guy and trying to figure out how to maintain the subterfuge.

These people lie and decieve, they commit rape by deception as you point out, and they're allowed to frame themselves as the victim.

This will ultimately only backfire on transpeople as more and more people are harmed by getting involved with them.

The Reddit hivemind it pretty singular in the belief that you are whatever gender you claim to be and you don't need to disclose it, ever.

There's also a lot of hostility towards the 'cis' men for whom they've transitione in order to ostensibly appease. Note that the OP describes himself as a 'bimbo' - fake lips and breasts - and then describes himself as having 'everything a woman has'. Honestly, if these people are so comfortable with their gender identity, why do they need to invest so much time convincing others? I used to roll by eyes when conservatives back in the day would talk about The Gays trying to 'convert' kids, or whatever, but back then the discussion about homosexuality was limited to the acknowledgement that homosexuality existed and that some adults were gay. No one was trying to claim that toddlers were gay.

These people are literally trying to push this belief system on young kids.

I also had a deep fear of rape and involuntary pregnancy as a child/teen. Gender ideology completely whitewashes how complex a young person's relationship to their body actually is.

I'm especially appalled by the notion that puberty is optional, or should be something that requires consent. This pushes the onus back onto the child to accept the 'responsibility' of puberty, particularly the sexual objectification that girls are subjected to.
