They probably wanted this plot twist to be a surprise for the audience.

It must still sting to get the job:
"Yes, you look like you could pass for a man who has had his penis chopped off and is now forced to pretend he's a woman."

I know they were likely trying to go for: "Nobody could tell the difference. Trans people are beautiful.", but I'll bet that's not what the actor thinks when they get the job.
