The Great and Glorious Code of the Empire of TumblrInAction

GENERAL RULES

TiA is a place to poke fun at the ridiculous mental gymnastics that people come up with. We're not a hate campaign, we're a sanity campaign.

A) Do not interact with the subject(s) of any post.

Sending messages of any sort to the people featured is strictly forbidden. This also includes their family, friends, employer, etc. Encouraging others to report posts on other sites (such as trying to get their social media accounts banned) is also not allowed. Breaking this rule will net you a permanent ban, so don't do it.

B) Do not post things you got involved in.

If you started it, don't post it here. If you are doing your own thing and someone appears and starts acting ridiculous, you can share that, but once you've posted that to TiA, do not carry on the conversation.

C) Don't bait for content.

Posts featuring someone attacking you when you're just chatting about something mundane is fine, but posting things like "feminism sucks" to guarantee angry replies, or trolling anonymous "ask me anything" sites and posting their response is the opposite of what is fine. Don't do that.

In short: if they's on TiA, don't contact 'em.

RULE 2: PERSONAL DETAILS ARE NOT ALLOWED

Submissions must not contain actual personal details, like locations, places of employment, phone numbers, etc. Likewise, comments must not contain any of this personal information, nor should you ask for it. We recommend that you redact all usernames, but this is not required.

For more information see the wiki-article on personal information.

RULE 3: DON'T BE AN ASSHAT

A) Don't make fun of real problems someone may have.

Some people have genuine medical and psychological issues, like cancer, eating disorders, autism, depression, etc. This isn't okay to make fun of. However, if someone is pretty clearly bullshitting about it, or has self-diagnosed themselves with thirty-seven different mental illnesses, that's fair game.

B) Treat your fellow shitlords excellently.

Have discussions with respect to the person behind the username. It's okay to disagree, but don't get hostile or start brazenly insulting others. Comments made by people without post histories here that amount to soapbox-shouting or incitement to a flame war (we call these "drive-bys") will be removed.

C) Don't use TiA for your crusade or be an actual bigot.

We're here to have fun, crack jokes, and mock the stupidity of people, not to be active hatemongers. You can express unpopular opinions in a civil manner, but don't use TiA purely as a pulpit for pushing your ideologies. And please, for god's sake, don't start slinging slurs around. It makes you look ignorant.

RULE 4: MAKE SURE YOUR SUBMISSIONS DON'T SUCK

Submissions from Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter must be in the form of screenshots, and may not be linked to directly. Tumblr blogs and TikTok videos may be linked to directly unless there are personal details present on the page, in compliance with Rule 2.

B) Don't post anything from SaidIt.

Don't bring any SJW bullshit or anything else you found on any other part of SaidIt over here. No linking, no screenshots, no "discussing" the character of other subs, no complaining about how you were banned by the mods of other subs, none of it.

C) Don't post unrelated material.

Posts need to be of reasonable quality. One-line edgy comments like "white people suck" are boring, repetitive and don't make the cut. Try to find unusual and interesting antics, rather than posting low-hanging fruit. Additionally, don't post hard politics (anything made by or explicitly referring to a politician, political candidate, or political party), memes, shitposts, podcasts, lengthy videos, circlejerk discussions, etc. The mods reserve the right to determine what material is considered unrelated.

D) Don't post fake shit.

Some people make shit up either for satire or to troll people. We know Poe's Law is a thing, and it can sometimes be hard to discern what is genuine from what is a joke. Do your research before posting to ensure you're not getting baited.

E) Don't make misleading or sensationalized titles.

Editorializing based on things not present or distorting the subject, even unintentionally, is not allowed. This includes using your title to hurl abuse at the subject. Don't cherry-pick parts of posts out of context.

F) No NSFW posts.

Self-explanatory. SaidIt doesn't want anything resembling pornography to be posted, so we'll go a step further and say no NSFW content at all.

REMEMBER: IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THESE RULES, ASK THE MODS. WE'RE HERE TO HELP.
