When I first found Redt, I was amazed at the women who were quick to jump into 'my boyfriend did xyz' posts kink explaining , defending; kink proselytizers. That behavior is usually exhibited, IME, by people desperate to justify their own behavior to themselves, especially in attempting to pressure other woman to enter into the practice - the more who participate = "this practice really is normal, and the nagging feeling I'm having about it being not quite right can be dismissed." So very sad and alarming. It really read as desperation sometimes. Those women even posted their lengthy 'splains on Radfem subs. Call me not niceTM but that behavior is not feminist. Not liking men is not a violent sentiment! Misogyny often turns violent, misandry - not so much. Men projecting their own behaviors.

I Hate Men was published on 19 August when much of France was enjoying the summer holiday, and it almost certainly would have passed unnoticed had Ralph Zurmély, an adviser to France’s gender equality ministry, not written to threaten legal action.

Ew, oh, scary lady words (eye roll)

Women speaking or even thinking is heresy to most men.

Harmange laughed at the idea. “Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, misogyny is so well anchored in French literature we often don’t even realise it.”

So, of course, nothing to be done about that. Ha ha. (pthhhh)

I left my last job because the new manager believed everyone but her had to live by the "Platinum Rule": treat others the way they want to be treated.

And this is a scientific discussion!
Why has no one treated me the way I want to be treated? Am I to assume I'm deviant or unworthy? I swear, "rules for thee, not for me" is also ingrained in these people.

I quite agree. Repetition works wonders on the weak minded (which SO many men are). Men themselves admit they prefer to go along ("keep my head down"). A man with a true spine is an exception. Women are the more courageous sex, and demonstrate that fact in so many ways.
I remember the "boys are better at" propaganda in grade school. I also remember my A's and boy's C's, and, being scientifically inclined and reality based, decided it was a lie, and dismissed it.

Edit. I wonder if men's violence against women also stems from this. Men see the evidence of their inferiority a/o failures... Feel (not emotional - haha, sure!). And act out.

In 1944, the acclaimed English writer George Orwell had this to say about the term's overuse as an epithet; "It will be seen that, as used, the word "Fascism" is almost entirely meaningless. In conversation, of course, it is used even more wildly than in print. I have heard it applied to farmers, shopkeepers, Social Credit, corporal punishment, fox-hunting, bull-fighting, the 1922 committee, the 1941 committee, Kipling, Gandhi, Chaing Kai-Shek, homosexuality, Priestley's broadcasts, Youth hostels, astrology, women, dogs and I do not know what else...the people who recklessly fling the word "Fascist" in every direction attach an emotional significance to it. By "Fascism", they mean, roughly speaking, something cruel, unscrupulous, arrogant, obscurantist, anti-liberal and anti-working class. Except for the relatively small number of Fascist sympathizers, almost any English person would accept 'bully' as a synonym for "Fascist". That is about as near to a definition as this much-abused word has come.

In 2004, Samantha Power, lecturer at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University) reflected Orwell's words from 60 years prior when she stated: "Fascism – unlike communism, socialism, capitalism, or conservatism – is a smear word more often used to brand one's foes than it is a descriptor used to shed light on them".

After responding to a letter with this:

lots of cis people are deeply disappointed and disturbed by her statements too. It wouldn’t be outing yourself to simply say, “I’ve enjoyed participating in the past but am not volunteering this year because of the bigoted statements the author has been making about trans people.” But if you don’t want to do that, you could instead just say “I won’t be available on the date of the event this year” (it’s after hours, after all).

She states this:

Rules for commenting on this post:

What a strange world we live in that diversity is only skin deep, and doesn't embrace diversity of viewpoints too.

Yes! This over and over again! When "diversity training" came to the workplace this was what I kept saying. Life experiences and outlooks are diverse even within populations and regions. Yet those differences are hand waved away; like saying "no we're all the same". That only defined groups, acknowledged by (who, who decided JUST those groups are valid?), deserve special consideration and empathy, seems exclusive in itself. In a truly diverse and equitable situation, shouldn't everyone be considered on "an even playing field"? I say the objective wasn't equity, but ultimately a set up for this demanded buy in of a super special oppressed group: the oppressors (now in dresses, too).

This also must have played a part in today's purity of view problem. It's just exclusivity. People have been trained.

Since 1978, I've been voting as an independent, even when I couldn't register as one. But that requires effort - researching candidates and their supporters - and voting for the best one EVEN if they're a third party. 42 years I've been saying no vote is ever a wasted vote. Third party or cross party voting is advocating; it's saying NO! And if more of my idiot peers and our parents had done so, MAYBE things wouldn't be so bad now. But everyone FEARS THIS is the most important moment, so they need to stay the course. Hindsight shows me there were few "most important moments". The Chinese think in eons, Americans think in the moment.

I agree with previous commenter: split branches to slow progression, though don't kid yourselves that both sides aren't being bought with the same money.

It looks like it was Ruth Bader Ginsburg who 1st swapped “sex” for “gender” - what a mistake… by BEB in GenderCritical

[–]missdaisycan 8 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

And so, Ginsburg did use “gender.” Other people, especially feminists, followed suit. There was no intention to avoid biology in the usage change or to have sex mean gender identity.

Different times and perspectives than now. Professional women's discomfort with setting a document filled with the word "sex" in front of men. 1- keeping men's attention on the issue (rather than on his own sexual interest) and 2- early 70s there was still stigma of women speaking directly about sex and anatomy. The landmark book "Our Bodies, Ourselves" came out in 1970. I remember, in my area of the US, there was quite the furor over it. No doubt the concern was to keep the concept without the stigma.

Social media is but a tool. The responsibility lies totally on the individual (and parents, if a minor). People make decisions. If someone is "influenced" or "brain washed", that person was open to let it happen. We've seen cults before. It's sad, but not necessarily irreversible. Why has society allowed the abdication of personal responsibility? Why are there so many super special snowflakes in our faces?

Are male vs female rape equal? by Maryam in PinkPillFeminism

[–]missdaisycan 7 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

When a male is raped by another male, and is traumatized by it, I have sympathy for him. Any adult male claiming rape by a female can f* the h* off. He's just trying to get bro points at the expense of females trauma. Women have put up with worse sexual treatment/abuse by men than being forced to orgasm, and not filed charges. Statutory rape of a male minor is a crime, period. However, rape of a boy by a woman is not at all the equivalent of statutory rape of a minor girl by an adult male. The boy is raped via a sexual relationship, the girl by power and deviancy. (Female infants have been penetrated by adult males.) Edit clarify

You also snapped (unwarranted, IMO) on a respected commentator, who expanded on one of your comments. Maybe that sub wasn't a good fit for you. Is s/gender_critical still active? Edit example:

EndTheTransPandemic 1 insightful - 0 fun - 2 days ago No, I mean young girls (or boy) seeing pornography and turning LGB or Transgender. We know most if not all TIM’s are pornsick men, so it would only be logical if the virus of pornography also turns children LGB. Girls see “lesbian” sex acts on film and slowly become attracted to them, same with boys. There needs to be some serious research on this kind of content since it’s pretty clear that it has some effect on children becoming LGBT later in life.

Charlie is wrong. Societies have long shamed, prohibited and made examples of, behaviors which were, or were thought to be, harmful to the community. And, for a percentage of deviants, it reduced the maximum number of potential offenses due to fear of personal, actual, consequences. So that's not a positive thing?

And the sad truth is most of these guys CANT be helped, there is NO treatment. They Will Not/Cannot Change. We need to be realistic about this, and either isolate these deviants together, or remove them permanently. We do this for dangerous animals, machinery, or even ideologies nowadays. Not that big a step...
