How about we try it, eh? Clearly, men violating curfew would be suspect, yes? Standing out like a sore thumb? Men who can prove staying home are proved innocent.

But, NO. Much more convenient, for men, to have the burden on women.

Do men tell other men this shit? I doubt it.

I have no problem with disagreement. I am suspicious of people who buy into, and expand, without evidence on hypotheses. Perhaps you are needing the definition of "hypothesis" :

Scientific hypothesis, an idea that proposes a tentative explanation about a phenomenon or a narrow set of phenomena observed in the natural world. The two primary features of a scientific hypothesis are falsifiability and testability, which are reflected in an “If…then” statement summarizing the idea and in the ability to be supported or refuted through observation and experimentation.

https://www.britannica.com/science/scientific-hypothesis

So, it ain't necessarily true. Suggest you file this particular hypothesis into "possible, but NOT proven!" That disease was caused by "bad humours", was also a working hypothesis, at one time. It was eventually discredited. Edit I added bolding for emphasis

I quite agree. Repetition works wonders on the weak minded (which SO many men are). Men themselves admit they prefer to go along ("keep my head down"). A man with a true spine is an exception. Women are the more courageous sex, and demonstrate that fact in so many ways.
I remember the "boys are better at" propaganda in grade school. I also remember my A's and boy's C's, and, being scientifically inclined and reality based, decided it was a lie, and dismissed it.

Edit. I wonder if men's violence against women also stems from this. Men see the evidence of their inferiority a/o failures... Feel (not emotional - haha, sure!). And act out.

[–]missdaisycan 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Social aspiration also plays a part. The etiquette of wokery is increasingly indispensable for high society. They mark you as someone high up in the American social hierarchy. The right words and phrases signal your ease in this elite; the wrong ones — “sexual preference”! — expose you as a rube, a bigot or, worse, a middle class provincial.

Sadly, probably true. Eh, I never understood "joiners". They appeared to be too lazy or insecure, or just stupid, to reason and discern for themselves. Maybe it's genetic or maybe it's in how a person is raised, but I can honestly say I've never had a problem walking away from the "in" or "woke" crowd and their pitiful joiners. There is self esteem and dignity in choosing right over social acceptance. Is social acceptance personally empowering when the "woke" people are evil, stupid, or abusive? I say No. (Explains why I prefer animal's company to most human's.)

They are likely inextricably combined. Women have long been the history keepers and moral conscience of societies. (As a whole, not necessarily individually.). Women serve as check and balance to men. This (factual role) was a major point in the fight for women's voting rights. Now - Discredit, erase the objectors = free sailing.

All women, who can bear to think about their lot, and the lot of their sisters, arrive at this place, and spend their lives vacillating between misogyny-fatigue and righteous indignation, swaying between the poles of “fight it” and “fuck it.” Being a woman is fucking exhausting. When you’re a woman, your life is seen as part of an issue, the hinge on which an ongoing debate swings, a dismissive mention in some pernicious legislation that is constantly under revision...

I'm so pissed off about this! The article writer, Meridith Deliso. I know editors can do a number on a writer's submissions, but "insensitive" in the title! How about INSULTING? More accurate word IMO. And ending the article with an (female) apologist who says, in effect, Be Nice! Let (the clothing company) make mistakes and learn from those mistakes. WTF!!! As long as men aren't being slandered, no big deal, right? Learning by beating down women is a tradition!

And to specifically make her a DO! I almost took that track myself. DOs are less locked in to pills a/o excessive, drastic surgeries, as curatives. My Family GP, a male DO, was the most awed, concerned, and supportive of women's health issues- he recognized women's bodies aren't the same as men's, and women usually suppress pain, unlike men. He referred me to a gyno so I could get my tubes tied at 23 yo, and my endometriosis was lasered! In 1983! (He's 87 now!). Grrrr. Pure politics! Two birds, one stone. Edit trying for some semblance of coherence Edit2. And WHY on earth do they have to "gender" ALL the time? Women 49-51% of population, genderfeels ~2-5% maybe. It's sexism!

Well, if we're tossing in pennies, here's my take, fwiw.

Look I know it's very upsetting that violent misogynistic language like "kill TERFs" has been normalized, but the truth is it has, at least in those circles. If it wasn't normal, OP wouldn't be asking this question.

And there in lies the problem! If simply accepted as fact/"normalized", and acquiesced, the battle is already lost. Is that not evident? Sun Tzu, where are you?

Invincibility lies in the defence; the possibility of victory in the attack. Thus, what is of supreme importance in war is to attack the enemy's strategy.

If your opponent is of choleric temper, irritate him.

He who is prudent and lies in wait for an enemy who is not, will be victorious.

Secret operations are essential in war; upon them the army relies to make its every move. Sun Tzu

(next item)

And treating awkward idiots like criminals creates nothing but conflict and drama.

No, no, no. It's called peer pressure. Shutting down unacceptable behaviors. Worked for centuries. It's less cruel than the shit that's happening now! You dig innocents being sacrificed? 10-40 women squirming because of the exclamations of one? 'Cause someone believes? Go to the source - TRAs & handmaidens. Shut them down!

If OP wants a solution besides just kicking her out, why is that so wrong? If your version of being Gender Critical means nobody with shitty opinions, poor social skills or parroting habits should ever be engaged with...

Eon-type rare to oust an initiate. (Extremely unlikely to drop a pledge, especially in an, um, ultra-woke sorority like OPs).
But, to the point, CAN they be engaged? You can't change someone's mind unless they're open to it. That (being open to alternate ideas) can take PAIN to happen, i.e. the consequences of your beliefs affecting you.. Life; no matter how much you may want to make it easy, the fact is: making life easy is a false presumption! It'll bite you in the a$$. Best to learn at ~19 than 38 yo! Or is the long, slow, hard lesson the more compassionate route? Ever wonder? Used to be the college experience was to be also a life experience. Guess that's gone the way of independent, analytical reasoning, "outdated"...

EndTheTransPandemic 1 insightful - 0 fun - 2 days ago No, I mean young girls (or boy) seeing pornography and turning LGB or Transgender. We know most if not all TIM’s are pornsick men, so it would only be logical if the virus of pornography also turns children LGB. Girls see “lesbian” sex acts on film and slowly become attracted to them, same with boys. There needs to be some serious research on this kind of content since it’s pretty clear that it has some effect on children becoming LGBT later in life.

Charlie is wrong. Societies have long shamed, prohibited and made examples of, behaviors which were, or were thought to be, harmful to the community. And, for a percentage of deviants, it reduced the maximum number of potential offenses due to fear of personal, actual, consequences. So that's not a positive thing?

And the sad truth is most of these guys CANT be helped, there is NO treatment. They Will Not/Cannot Change. We need to be realistic about this, and either isolate these deviants together, or remove them permanently. We do this for dangerous animals, machinery, or even ideologies nowadays. Professional women's discomfort with setting a document filled with the word "sex" in front of men. 1- keeping men's attention on the issue (rather than on his own sexual interest) and 2- early 70s there was still stigma of women speaking directly about sex and anatomy. The landmark book "Our Bodies, Ourselves" came out in 1970. I remember, in my area of the US, there was quite the furor over it. No doubt the concern was to keep the concept without the stigma.

As a stark raving scientist, I've become woeful over the decades as science has been undermined by politics and moneyed interests. Feelings and wishful thinking have become more important to society than data. We are regressing as a species and society, IMO. Soon, the second Dark ages.

It involves careful observation, applying rigorous skepticism about what is observed, given that cognitive assumptions can distort how one interprets the observation. It involves formulating hypotheses, via induction, based on such observations; experimental and measurement-based testing of deductions drawn from the hypotheses; and refinement (or elimination) of the hypotheses based on the experimental findings. These are principles of the scientific method

A scientific hypothesis must be falsifiable, implying that it is possible to identify a possible outcome of an experiment or observation that conflicts with predictions deduced from the hypothesis; otherwise, the hypothesis cannot be meaningfully tested.

I placed this in another sub: It was SEX based discrimination!

The real Ginsburg made this point in her majority opinion in United States v. Virginia, which ordered Virginia Military Institute, the state’s all-male military school, to become coed. There, she wrote that “[p]hysical differences between men and women … are enduring,” and, quoting Ballard v. United States, added, “[t]he two sexes are not fungible.”

Also, that same case:

Ginsburg wrote that the Virginia Military Institute “would undoubtedly require alterations necessary to afford members of each sex privacy from the other sex in living arrangements.”

https://www.intellectualtakeout.org/article/why-ginsburg-fought-discrimination-basis-sex-not-gender-identity/

This case was mid 90s, so she was aware of transsexuals. Yeah, people change their views, if those positions are weak, but draw your own conclusions.

No, the problem is people buying into the BS they're being force-fed. Like "you must vote a straight ticket". People too lazy to put in the effort to think for themselves! To research & demand clear and precise statements of position, and to hold politicians and government accountable. "The party, the party" propaganda is being swallowed too easily by the weak minded. Seen this for decades.

If one persons statement on social media can cause somebody to change their vote, either the person had a persuasive argument, or the vote changer is nothing but a trend follower. chill out and stop telling people they must censor themselves!

Yeah, these are challenging times, no doubt. But, sometimes life kinda lays something in your lap. I've been without TV/home internet for close to 2 months now, due to a natural disaster. Not sleeping well, I've listened to over-air radio broadcasts on a battery powered radio. An early morning call-in talk show has been talking RGB death and politics. Opportunity? We each have our individual strengths and situations. I'm not a great "off the cuff" speaker- I brood. But, I can write and edit to be concise when needed. Drafting three statements today. Each tailored for audience demographics.

I can also sign petitions, redirect my donations budget, and try to stay informed. Cumulative small contributions like these are not to be dismissed!

Yes, the young are to be pitied. They've been left in a sorry state. And so, society in the future, too, I imagine. (Children are not my area, that's for other people to address. I'll be over here talking science...)

Edit by staying informed, should I witness a like-minded individual stand up in public, I have decided I can and will stand with them. I am free and able to do so; so I shall.
