Yes we've all heard the argument. But that's not how people operate. I agree the entire society should pay for education, because we live here and want society to work. HOWEVER, those USING the services actively should at the very least not be paying far LESS than those who don't. If you want people to support social programs, they need to feel a chance to directly benefit from them...or at least not feel like their eyeballs are getting fucked out.

Listen, I'm pro-trans in the sense that I support every single human being's unalienable right to be free from violence, from religious or political persecution, from discriminatory hiring practices or barring from education, public services, etc. You know, rights. I do not see it as their right to have 99% of the population cater to their mental illness by pretending that a transwoman is literally, in every meaningful sense, a woman. Sports are divided along dimorphic sexual lines FOR A REASON. And the trans activists have glommed on to people with genetic hormone disorders to argue that 'well because Caster Semenya's case is genuinely complicated, all the rest of us should get to compete in women's sports too!". Fuck off. Also I believe Caster Semenya was banned from several female track competition events.

The ultra-rare genetic defect of true genital hermaphroditism does not negate the fact that homo sapien is a binary-sex species. The statistic is thrown around a lot that intersex conditions are as common as redheads....but that's only true if you include the 99.9% of people who still have fully functional sexed genitalia and secondary sex characteristics, just have some minor differenced hormone sensitivity. So in other words, it's bullshit.

I'll try to explain it simply (I know you Brits think all us Americans are just too stupid to live, but here we go anyway) - Since the early 2000s, Congress and the Senate have been effectively dead as legislative bodies. Laws are made by EO, then the popular ones are codified and the ones too hot to handle get repealed when the government changes hands. An EO will be law for at least 4 if not 8 years. That's long enough for a new rule to shift the very structure of society. A generation can reach adulthood remembering no time when it wasn't the norm. Can it be undone? Yes. Is it stupid to act like it's a big deal? No no no no.

You're delusional, and running off hindsight. The quarantines. Didn't. Work. The shit came roaring back the moment things lifted and the weather got cold. This is not unique to the united state. Look at Germany, look at France, look at Holland and Belgium and the UK. The GOP didn't set out to kill small businesses...the only ones agitating for business closures and lockdowns were DUMBOCRATS (since we're using stupid childish slurs). The economy is shit due to a bunch of power tripping idiots doing irrational things for irrational reasons. I know it's nice to think that all this could have been magicked away by more control, but it couldn't. It could have been less damaging than it was however. The only people interested in tanking the economy was the crew interested in defeating Trump.

The suffering to small businesses is being imposed by the government - not by some existential threat to the very life of the vast, VAST majority of all human beings. With a fatality per case % approaching regular flu levels, the justification is looking shakier by the day to keep the working age population caged like animals while their businesses fail and future collapses. The myopic fear will be killing people via drugs and suicide for a decade or more to come. 67000 mostly young what should be healthy people died of ODs in 2018 before all this crap started. But nooooo lets double that number so the 85 year olds can have one more year of sucking wind. Yes, THATS the unselfish moral thing to do.

I will agree with the idiocy of politicizing. But, it was the most emotionally charged election year of all time so I don't know what to tell you there. And in response to your 'freedumb' comment I'll say only...SK and Germany already had cultures emphasizing submission to authority and lower individualism. This allowed SK, for example, to implement an incredibly invasive track and trace system. The USA does not have that kind of culture, and that isn't something you can just flip a switch on overnight. The EU in general really hasn't faired very well, even Germany is now up to double their spring case/death load. Please spare me about the masks. Outside surgical/healthcare settings, evidence for their population wide efficacy is shaky at best.

And as for Sweden, if you would scrutinize the data from the website you yourself referenced, Sweden's current fatality/case rate is ~0.9%. The goal should not be to entirely eliminate Covid, but to reach the point where it's no more ominous than the regular flu. In sweden, it's about at that point. Also, Sweden is sitting prettier in their deaths/million numbers than countries that had harsh lockdown measures. Seems a bit random doesn't it.

It's hard to pin down trends over time, but this article points to some telling statistics. Lesbians are only 16% of all self-ID'd LGBTQA+GHJHLASFHLSA, and of those, 69% of them are over the age of 40. This suggests a decrease in younger lesbians 'coming on-line'. Young women who might have used to ID as lesbian are now more likely to call themselves bisexual or queer or genderfluid or whatever. Being 'lesbian' just isn't cool anymore (not that it ever really was). Most trans are male-to-female, but the rate of female-to-male has been exploding of late, to the point where even the mainstream media has somewhat picked up on it. There are a lot of reasons for this, mostly having to do with confused teenage girls spending too much time on the internet watching yaoi porn and fetishizing gay male relationships. Women in anime/porn, on the other hand, are treated...not very well. So the aforementioned teenage girl is repulsed from the idea of womanhood. Plus the whole gender/sex dialogue has gotten so fucking stupid, any girl who leans toward 'butchness' gets told she must just be a 'man inside'.

Slightly higher taxes? Settle it at the voting booths and in the courts. Shut the FUCK UP with this childish play-tend revolutionary bullshit.

Examine what this actually is - teenage females finding out they're turned on by physically beautiful young males. How kinky! How unusual! ...............no. It's heterosexuality. There's hardly been a female teenager born on earth that wasn't into boy bands or kid actors. That's ALL. But because these porny relationships are presented exclusively as male-male, they think THEY need to be male to have these loving egalitarian relationships. The only male-female relationships they see in anime/porn are the kind where the female is presented as a doll/toy/object of torture/humiliation/domination. Which one would you, as a scared teen, gravitate towards?? Obviously the sexual dynamic that involves less anal rape.

LMAO what the hell are these mental gymnastics?? "Most females discover they are attracted to males sexually during puberty" should be the title of this post. So many unnecessary steps to arrive back at regular old run of the mill heterosexuality. My god.

But they're on Biden's team...they have no reason to lie about it. In fact, they would seize on the slightest instance of voter intimidation by Trump voters and exaggerate it if it were happening - which it is not.

Massive citation needed on that first point, bud. There have been isolated accounts of people at polling stations bearing arms. This does not systemic intimidation make. In fact, NPR was reporting on election day that despite fears, they were NOT seeing any evidence of voter intimidation or violent conflict nationwide.

That's probably the right answer. I was thinking about that the other day. Companies keep moving manufacturing from cheap shithole to cheap shithole, moving on whenever labor costs start rising. But they're running out of shitholes. The end-state of globalization, unchecked, would be a world-wide equalizing of wealth and labor-leverage. Wealthier people demand things like clean air and water and nature parks and fewer 8-limbed babies. They can't have that. So they have to somehow artificially freeze certain areas in filthy cheapness, bake in a permanent underclass if you will.

You're still very much ignoring u/StillLessons excellent point - which is that if you look at what Democrats do, not what they say they'll do, they are either horribly ineffective or else they're liars, and all the years of Clinton and Obama didn't look a wit different from the Bush years in terms of war, decline in economic mobility, decline in civic institutions, and general undermining/malaise in the working class. Joe has no fucking brilliant new ideas....he's a relic of the old machinery. He has nearly 50 years of politics behind him showing what he is and what he does, and dude, he can not and will not deliver any of those vaguely nice sounding things.

Yup. Trump has no one to blame but himself for his loss. His policies were popular, his vision of a neutral and well-armed America the right one, his stance on China well-supported even by DC thinktanks. He was a good president, but an intolerable person.
