Hi, I’m a bi woman and I had lesbian friends while I was still questioning my sexuality. I grew up with gay and lesbian family friends but hearing bisexuals were attention seeking straights so I didn’t have a problem with them, just myself. If she’s homophobic I think the friendship may be over. But if she just has some internalized biphobia you could possibly still be friends while she’s sorting herself out.

As a bisexual I am also afraid of bisexuals now because the vast majority I know are TRAs. I have >15 bisexual friends & none is gender critical, while at least half of my gay and lesbian friends are. I would assume she is a TRA and may shame you to your mutual friends if you express GC views or even just same sex attraction. The only bisexuals I know who will still be friends with me after knowing my views tend to be over 40 or immigrants who have seen actual homophobia & understand sexual orientation is not something to be shamed for.

Whoever disseminates the idea that trans women prisoners must be housed with women does not have their best interests in mind. I saw a video of a prison that had a separate wing for transwomen inside the men’s prison and they were very relieved to be with other TW, away from men who might assault them. They would probably advocate a similar setup for other prisons - they weren’t looking for validation but physical safety.

Thank you for sharing friend! My own story is somewhat related - briefly identified as a trans man then desisted once properly medicated for my mental illness. Was also really let down on arriving at uni to realize the LGBT student group was more interested in proselytizing queer/trans ideology in every corner of campus than supporting young LGB students.

I think bi acceptance (for women at least) has gotten a lot better over the last 10-20 years. Celebrities are out, local politicians are out. When I was younger gay and straight classmates spent Gay-Straight alliance meetings telling bis we were attention seeking liars. I've felt best in explicitly bisexual social groups where I don't have to defend or apologize for my orientation.

I see where you’re coming from. I know a few gay and bisexual men like this, who wear women’s clothes and whose mannerisms most people would consider effete. In my experience they are not so much fellow activists as another target of TRAs. They don’t stand up against TRAs for women’s rights, but they benefit from the activism of women like us who oppose gender roles & oppose TRA dogma that a man who likes to wear a dress now and then is a trans woman and must surgically alter his body.
