The comments under her article, urgh... Men laughing and either saying, a) feminism is poison [and hurts all the poor widdle males] or b) let the men in dresses and the radfems eat each other.

Lots of hate-filled men in the comments, but what the filmmaker said is all true: <the filmmaker believes biological sex is not a social construct, that women’s sex-based oppression is real, that housing people with male genitalia in spaces with victims of male sexual violence can be harrowing to women inmates, that mental illnesses like autogynephilia and other dysphorias can cause dangerous, irrevocable damage, and that gender theorists are erasing women, much like patriarchy does.>

We REALLY need to make it clear that AGP is a fetish at best and a mental illness. Then people come back with "homosexuality was considered a mental illness" -- and wrongly.

edit: I just wanted to commend Spiked for publishing this. Right wingers often get accused of only pretending to care about free speech but I think they've put their money where their mouth is. They stand by this principle.

What they don't care about is women's rights. I think most of them would be gleeful if they could confine us to the private sphere again. I think they care about the impact of trans ideology on children. We need to make alliances where we can and forget about sides.

Just a PSA: While Spiked! clearly has their head on right when it comes to transgender issues, that's like a broken clock being right twice a day. Spiked! is a front for the right-wing billionaire Koch brothers and the Hungarian fascist Frank Furedi. They claim to be leftist, but they're actively anti-environment, anti-vaxxer, anti-immigration, pro-UKIP (British white supremacist party), coronavirus denialist, global warming denialist, and a host of other nasty things.
