They are trying to get out from all of this nowadays. Sadly they are not removing old videos where they were supporting all of that and sometimes still posting bad articles.

They've disabled all the comments on their trans videos on youtube lol Cowards. Nobody was drinking TRA kool aid.

What makes you think the BBC are 'trying to get out from all this'? Serious question. Far as I can tell the BBC has not walked back on anything. Happy to shown to be very wrong though.

They removed all transgender links from their site, and stopped supporting Mermaids, changed some descriptions on their site that is including gender dysphoria now, instead of "anyone who think they are of opossite sex". They did all of that silently, without saying at loud. So at least partially BBC are not ok with all this TRA propaganda.

Ah, yes. Now that you mention that. I was aware they had done this. Completely forgotten this was the case. Thank you.

The main things I know about were the newsnight investigations into the Tavistock and, importantly, they recently removed Mermaids from their LGBT helpline page and refused to say why under the FoI act (which may mean that they know something we don't know or have proof of yet.)

However they are still posting a lot of pro-trans stuff, including othering 'noble savage' type articles about gender so there seems to be a schism between different segments, which makes sense considering how huge the BBC is.

The BBC does have a 'reality check' department who seem to sometimes do the right thing and correct the record. They did this recently for the BLM claims in the UK about police violence. Turns out the claims are bunk.

I would not be surprised at all if there were to be warring factions within the BBC. As you say, given its size. Not going to be that surprising. The old vs the new guard I am sure happens a lot.

This is exactly the same as the artists in the early 20th century with no understanding of relativity using it to make their bad art seem "educated" and profound. STOP USING SCIENCE YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND TO PUSH UNRELATED THINGS.

"Quantum physics reveals that there is no fixed reality, and it's full of beautiful contradictions"

What a bad take. If there was no fixed reality there would be no purpose of even studying physics or any science and no reason to improve upon them. The point is to focus the lens and get our models as close to reality as possible. I can see why this reality-rejecting interpretation of quantum physics would be so popular with some trans people, though.

1000% agree. People trying to argue that there is no rhyme, reason or consistency to observed reality drive me crazy.

Statistics is, approximating the truth with numbers. Science cannot give you a guarantee about the phenomena under study, but it can build a bedrock of basic facts that are known, over time.

I wonder if this facet of the TRA ideology-- because it really is a belief they are pushing, by making that claim-- wouldn't be quite so popular if we had better education.

Ok but quantum physics doesn't magically make a 5 o clock shadow, beard, and greasy hair appear womanlike. Sorry not sorry.

I read (and IIRC they were credible sources) that the BBC has a huge number of trans employees, I think it was around 400. Also, that at the BBC, pronouns were mandatory.

Love the comments. “This is a new Sacha Baron Cohen character, right?”
