Fallon Fox is superphobic scum. Anyone with eyes who watched their MMA fights against bio women could see the obvious difference in speed and power between them. Yet according to them, biological women only wanting to fight other biological women in the MMA ring is "transphobic." Just another example of entitled, boundary-crossing superphobia and realityphobia.

I think the 40% rate was suicide ideation from an online survey of mainly trans teens, I recall. I'd bet the percent is similar for people suffering depression tbh.

These numbers change year to year, but as a ball park estimate from the stats I've seen: The rate of trans people murdered is about 2 per 100k

For women, the rate is about 3 per 100k

For men, about 6 per 100k

For both transwomen of color and black males, about 35 per 100k

For prostitutes, about 200 per 100k

Agreed. It should definitely be accepted, but normalizing can lead to a lot of harm.

What I don't get is, instead of teaching trans people to accept their bodies and identities, instead of teaching "transwomen are transwomen, and that's okay!" the rhetoric is insisting on a slogan that is at odds with physical reality. So everywhere they turn, reality is there with constant reminders of how their constructed identity is false, triggering their dysphoria. Instead of demanding the rest of the world change how they perceive reality, they should focus on self-acceptance and healthy coping mechanisms.

. I actually never thought about having sex with transwomen as something straight guys should do.

The more extreme TRAs would say this is proof you don't really see them as women, making you transphobic.

One thing to keep in mind is that superstraight was semi-satirical. I think most people realize it is ridiculous to think that straight men should be attracted to transwomen simply because they ID as female. However, this belief isn't shared by extreme TRAs. By conceding this point of transwomen being exactly like biological women and thus straight men should be attracted to them, and creating a new sexuality, we force TRAs to attack the validity of a sexual orientation. This directly goes against LGBT rhetoric and allows us to use their own "woke" language against them.

[–]Terfenclaw 23 insightful - 2 fun23 insightful - 1 fun24 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

ONE - Because trans activism has reached the point where people are starting to be called transphobic for not wanting to date them. The slogan of "trans women are women" is starting to be taken literally, in every context. Before, it was only lesbians who were being shamed for only wanting to be with biological women. Many lesbians have been kicked out of their own communities and Reddit does not allow any lesbian communities for biological women only. The TRAs have been getting bolder and bolder over the years, moving on to gay men and it appears now that some straight men are getting shamed too. At least enough for that 16 year old TikTokker to make a video about it.

TWO - Shame receipts from lesbians - https://lesbian-rights-nz.org/shame-receipts/

Shame receipts from gay men (opens a google doc) - https://photos.app.goo.gl/Sgz9aR2BxPH4JgqA7

THREE - Any movement is going to be a mixed bag of people. Superstraight is admittedly one of the oddest, most diverse assortment of people I've seen--a mix of radfems, alt-right shitlords, estranged LGBT members, and normies who had no idea this was going on. The trans community itself has its own problems of nazis and white supremacy inside of it, but no one talks about it. There are pictures of actual German nazis crossdressing in a fetishistic way, but that doesn't mean the entire community is nazis. https://uploads.ovarit.com/b366817b-6896-56a1-af26-9621593ca193.png

As for trolling the LGBTQ+ community, the community is not a monolith. There are many LGB and even T who do not agree with the state of current trans activism. If there are parts that deserve criticism, then I'm all for pointing it out. I would need to see exactly what they said and the context.

FOUR - I think that in order for one to think "superstraight" is better than "straight," you'd have to have some kind of internalized homophobia. I just think of it as extra-straight, really. One is not better than the other. They are all valid sexualities.

FIVE - It depends on who you ask. I believe that trans people deserve to live free of discrimination in housing, employment, medical care, and all the same basic human rights as everyone else. But I don't believe they have the right to redefine biological reality and the language around biological reality for the entire population. I don't believe their desire for gender validation trumps women's rights to safety and fairness in sports, shelters, prisons, locker rooms, etc.

Apparently, some people tried to set up a trans-only shelter in the UK and the trans community there rejected the idea outright because it wasn't validating enough.

https://streetvoiceuk2020.wordpress.com/2020/06/19/a-trans-womans-observation-into-the-madness-of-the-trans-debate/

Around 2015 I secured a £500,000 donation from an 80’s pop mogul if the trans community raised the same amount for what would have become the UK’s first trans exclusive refuge. This would have come with services including medical advice, housing advice, trauma advice including domestic violence, rape etc. This was also going to offer temporary housing for 12 trans individuals for up to 6 months. A building was found in the centre of Birmingham.

In fairness some radical feminist women and other left leaning women were happy to help with securing grants and doing all the paperwork. A female lawyer offered her services for free. All this would have saved a lot of time and headaches.

On putting forward this plan to to the trans community they declined this outright. It was nothing to do with the service. They wanted to use women’s services as a means of passing!

[–]Terfenclaw 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Personally, I feel the only exception should be for passing transwomen using female restrooms because 1) their presence doesn't break down social norms of males being forbidden from the area and 2) if they really are that stealth, then it'd be impossible to enforce restrictions anyway.

However, out of respect for natal women, I think it would be better if they used a third, private space instead of women's restrooms though. There are a lot of transwomen that are deluded about how well they pass.

The problem with making an exception for transwomen with well documented gender dysphoria is that we'll still have AGPs and other fetishists claiming dysphoria to get into our private spaces. And how would it work? Do transwomen have a "true trans" card that they show? It wouldn't work. It's not exactly that difficult for trans people to lie to therapists, and even without that there's enormous pressure to affirm lest therapists be labeled transphobic.

I really think a third, private space with full length stalls is the best solution for this. And that place should be for trans people with well documented gender dysphoria. Do not hide behind women to protect yourself from AGPs, thus making women less safe.

I was an ally until a couple years ago when i heard about the Vancouver Rape Relief shelter being defunded and vandalized. But still I thought these had to be just a couple extremists or even false flags in the trans community... surely they couldn't be that hostile to women, right?

I went on. I did what I could to educate myself on trans issues and I remember reading The Women Of San Quentin to educate myself on the plight of trans women in prison. While I felt a great deal of sympathy for the transwomen in the book, I remember one of them saying she didn't want to go to a female prison and how there were problems of rape if trans women went there. I had always heard that women had nothing to fear from trans women, and I remember this opinion giving me pause during the book. The idea of a trans woman advocating against her own transfer.

I still wasn't fully GC then. It was after seeing the unhinged response to JKR's wholly reasonable essay that all the dots connected and all the doubts I had before sent me researching the "other side" of the debate.

Not about the uterus specifically, but they explain a bit of the reasoning in the article

In Whitley’s case, the problem was how the severity of kidney disease is assessed. The usual protocol is to calculate a patient’s “estimated glomerular filtration rate” (eGFR), which measures the amount of a certain waste product in their blood and therefore shows how efficient their kidneys are at filtering it out. If the eGFR is below a certain level, it’s an indication that their kidneys are failing and they are eligible for a transplant.

There are several different lower limits for an eGFR, depending on things like a person’s weight, age, gender and race, which are intended to reflect the natural variation in the human body. Based on the female cut-off, he would have been allowed a transplant immediately. But he’s registered as a man on his medical records, and this meant his doctors used the male eGFR level. He wasn’t put on the list until he reached it – a decision that ultimately delayed the surgery by over a year, and very nearly cost him his life.

“It was really cute and awesome that I was treated as male, but in being this way, they didn’t necessarily take into account the body,” says Whitley, who points out that, though he has been taking testosterone for around 15 years, it’s a relatively small dose. “I was born female and I identify as male – they should have probably have set my limit as somewhere in the middle.”

Who could've thought that denying biological reality would have life threatening consequences?

The first incident occurred when Whitley went for an ultrasound scan to investigate his kidney failure, and the technicians who were assessing him abruptly walked out. “All of a sudden, everyone in the room set their stuff down and just left,” he says. “I was like, ‘what's happening?’ No one said anything.” He was left alone for 20 minutes – and then told that he could go, and that they would call him.

Later, he listened in amazement as a doctor gravely informed him that he had a uterus – a fact that Whitley was, naturally, already aware of. “They said, ‘I think we understand the problem – you have a uterus and so that may be contributing to your kidney failure.’ I was like, ‘what are you talking about?’”

Wow, I would be MAD. Imagine trying to help this guy all this time to find out they'd been concealing vital information. What a fucking donkey.

While I can't say whether or not you truly have gender dysphoria, my understanding was that the "true" cases of dysphoria tend to have that feeling very young, and it persists into adulthood. (Which isn't to say that all cases of childhood "gender dysphoria" persist into adulthood, ofc.) You should definitely try to talk to a therapist or counselor about any comorbid psychological disorders you might have, whether it's depression or something else. Hold off on hormones and surgery until then, and be careful with that chest binder. It can result in permanent damage even if you're using it "responsibly."

I recommend taking a step back from the internet and try to exercise regularly. It's really one of the best things you can do to fight depression. Good luck with whatever you choose, though.

I know its been discussed before, but I need clarification again - why is Transgender so much different than someone saying they are Transracial? Personally, I believe that there is an element of biological hard coding in one's sense of sex identity. Evolutionarily speaking, having an internal sense of your own sex is important for a number of different mating behaviors. Also, in cases were intersex people were reassigned sex at birth, there is an extremely large number of people who end up rejecting their assigned sex and identifying with their biological sex.

However, there's no such biological hard wiring when it comes to race and culture. That is 100% an environmentally based identity. Nurture, not nature.

Ya'll need to read RED SISTER by Mark Lawrence. It's a gritty fantasy series (with no rape!) that takes place in a convent, 95% of the characters are realistic, badass women and the side romantic arc over the trilogy is a sapphic one. There are so many female characters to love in this one, but I especially loved Abbess Glass and Sister Apple. Those nuns were not to be fucked with.

What happened to detrans? by [deleted] in GenderCritical

I searched on twitter and found this:

https://mobile.twitter.com/AlexAlicit/status/1287083957239066630

Due to recent events, I have chosen to have my position as a moderator of r/detrans relinquished after discussion with the team for the future and safety of detransitioners using that space. I refuse to let them take down the sub because of me.

This was not an easy decision to make but I made it because I know they planned on filing an in-depth report on how corrupt moderation of r/detrans was based on stalking and outside sources. So I've given up my position to protect the subreddit.

https://mobile.twitter.com/AlexAlicit/status/1287139043747213313

Ended up discovering that I was being stalked on discord and they were putting together a report to claim moderation on r/detrans was corrupt. As a result it was decided that I step down so the subreddit isn't taken down because of me and rants that were taken out of context.

https://mobile.twitter.com/AlexAlicit/status/1287808059176345601

Today a moderator of r/detrans responded to my question if I'd be permitted to post my story. Needless to say, I feel in that same place of complete hatred and disdain for a group I was in when this all first happened. I proposed stepping down myself for the safety of the sub.

The moderator in question told me that since the subreddit has gone the self-censorship route I am no longer welcome on the subreddit. I was told specifically that since I am a documented transphobe, they could be accused of harboring and giving hate a platform.

As a result if I post there, whatever I post will be left so long as it follows subreddit policy since I myself am detrans but I will be permanently banned. I really hope this sacrifice was for the good in the end because you have no idea how much this hurts.

They claim to be so oppressed and so powerless against "hate" yet they control the narrative through fear and manipulation. My own friends have to basically abandon me to keep the support group we helped with the original purpose it was. I -hate- the trans movement.

This is so infuriating. I hope that they set up a secondary site and slowly migrate off of reddit. The way the TRAs are silencing all opposition is fucked up.

[–]Terfenclaw 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Despite what you wish the world was like, it IS mainstream. Since the topic of consent has come up, I've gone ahead and looked up the article in question. They put this right up front:

Before we get into the psychology of why people are into choking, it’s important to address that choking during sex is extremely dangerous and should be done with caution. There are many risks. Just because you saw choking in a porn scene or are interested in it, does not mean you should just run off and choke your partner. With so much hardcore porn out there showcasing choking as this “no big deal” kind of thing that apparently happens every time you sleep with someone (it doesn’t), we suddenly have novices out here thinking choking is a first date activity. This is all around a BAD idea.

If you’re interested in choking during sex, you need to be so, so careful. This is not the same as spanking, light bondage, or other forms of kinky play. It is capital “D” Dangerous.

You also need to get explicit verbal consent and negotiate how you’re going to choke your partner before you even think about putting your hands around your partner’s neck. In a recent 2019 study conducted by Debby Herbenick, a professor and sex researcher at the Indiana University School of Public Health, 23 of the 347 female respondents described feeling scared during sex because their partner had tried to choke them unexpectedly.

They are advocating for safety and consent first and foremost. Judge for yourself https://www.menshealth.com/sex-women/a26471117/choking-during-sex/

As someone who's taken judo and jujitsu, I'm pretty unfazed by this tbh. I would get regularly choked in class and practice my chokes on others, and it helped me learn both my limits and how to properly control a choke. It's really important to learn the difference between an air choke and a blood choke and to always do that latter. A good blood choke rarely results in pain--only pressure and lightheadedness. I don't think there's anything wrong with it in a controlled environment with someone you trust. Personally, I enjoy a bit of roughness in bed, and being choked by someone who's shitty at it is no fun. I'd much rather there be a guide that teaches how to do it responsibly than none at all.

The fact that extremely rare mutations occur in the form of chromosomal deletions and translocations does not discredit the entire science of genetic mapping. There is a huge amount of research devoted to mapping the human genome. Chromosomal structure actually is holy--or let's say stable--enough to base an entire branch of research off of mapping which genes are located where on them.

These are constant enough that we are able to categorize many different birth defects based on chromosomal abnormalities. Cri du chat syndrome is because of a deletion on chromosome 5, down syndrome a result of an extra chromosome 21, Tay-Sachs a mutation in chromosome 15. Many more illnesses can be linked to mutations in genes in very specific locations, but you don't see anyone wailing on about how chromosomes are unimportant here because in a few incredibly rare cases, someone's down's syndrome is actually a result of a translocated piece of chromosome 21 being put on, say, chromosome 20, rather than existing independently as in the standard presentation of trisomy 21.

Calling chromosomes an "educated guess" of biological sex is an extreme distortion of how powerful a predictor they are. In over 99.9% of cases, they accurately predict sex.

Bringing up animals is some actual fifth grade logic here. We are talking about distinct populations here. Humans are not the same as lizards or clownfish. Intersex people are not the same as transgender people (though there is some overlap). Just because clownfish can change their sex, doesn't mean humans can. Just because some intersex people are essentially XY females or XX males, doesn't mean that transgender people are.

but in the end, sex is a physiological trait, not a genetic feature.

This doesn't make even sense. Physiology is determined by genetics. That's why you're grasping at SRY translocations and deletions.

Chromosomes as bookshelves is a bad analogy because bookshelves contain no information. Bookshelves are merely containers. Chromosomes are literally made of DNA; they're just bundled up into a specific form. A better analogy is an open book versus a closed book. Sometimes pages can be ripped out of one book and put inside another book, but those books are still vitally important to development.

Also, if we start breaking down definitions and saying they're meaningless because a 0.01% outlier breaks the standard rules, then we will be left with no meaningful language or definitions. Humans having 10 fingers is "fifth grade biology." Humans having chromosome pairs is "fifth grade biology" because it ignores cases of trisomy. Just because some people have colorblindness doesn't mean that red and green don't exist. Outliers do not disprove the rule that works in the vast majority of cases. They only show that sometimes there are exceptions. And it is intellectually dishonest, self-serving, and erasing for the people who do have those outlier conditions when trans people appropriate this for their own agenda.
