I agree. Maybe even worse than the attack on his daughter and family is the lack of response by anyone else.

I'm an atheist and my theory is that the average person needs some religion like structure in their lives. They need a bit of superstition, belief, group think. We got rid of God and Christianity and now it's all about the woke agenda. I'd rather people go to a moderate church, mosque, synagogue etc. than get stuck into this radical woke bullshit.

Same here. Now, lately I’ve started praying to God, so I guess this means I’m a Christian again. Probably. But people do need religion. It’s not just about worship, but also about rituals and community. Going to mass or to the mosque or the synagogue is a community event, and also a family occasion. In Christianity, priests and pastors help out families and communities.

In Czechia, most of the people there are atheist, but they still understand the importance of religion in their lives. Which is why this country is doing very well for themselves.

Gender has become the new religion to a lot of people without religion

I have no words to describe this.

Unfortunately, future people are going to describe this as "the good old days", before everything got so insane.

I hope future people will refer to this stuff the same way we refer to the lobotomies that were once the medical standard of care.

The god of the old testament is fucked, and he would have no qualms taking things way too far. Careful what you wish for. Pretty sure Yahweh = Satan.

The smiting gods of the middle east came about during a period of intense seismic activity in the area. Often people associate these gods with thunderbolts but earthquakes and tsunamis were really more their thing. Indeed when archaeologists dig up cities which were apparently smited they almost always show signs of seismic damage. So the god of the old testament isn't Satan, he's a tectonic fault line.

The problem is that wokeness has become a religion with a whole set of beliefs that are dogma to the believers.

I think people have religious impulses built-in, and they will look for something to satisfy those impulses. For example, for a while, I attended a Unitarian Church before I got frustrated with their increasing social justice fixation. One of the key moments was when I saw this white teenage girl breaking into tears about her white privilege in front of a whole group of other all-white people. It was grotesque, but, to her, whiteness had become original sin.

These people genuinely believe that they are doing the right thing. That's what's so scary about it.

Not all Christian churches are good. There are some Protestant churches worth looking into, but I’m only familiar with Anglicanism, because they’re the third largest religion in Ireland (after Catholicism and Islam). But I’m sure some of those denominations are pretty based.

      There’s also Christian Orthodoxy.

doesn't stop you promoting Christianity. I built my faith out of nothing, and it works well.

What we need is for reasonable centrists to wake up and say, "Enough" to both extremes. We need some Enlightenment Rationality back in our lives and not Romantic prioritization of feelings over reality.

The far left needs a reality check. The far right has been asleep and has been too tolerant for too long.

That would be going from Scylla to Harybdis. We must prevent that. The humanistic and science adhering aspects of our society from all over the political spectrum, will be the ones to bring TRAs down.

You can't take them down without going after those that are responsible. You can't go after those that are responsible without the far right or by becoming the far right.

Feminists and detranstioners fought and won several victories in UK against TRAs,within the legal and political system. They fundraised and took the TRAs and the science violating Tavistock gender clinic to court. This is the way for the rest of the world.

I believe we'll need to complete more of sober theoretical work before the real presentation of the rebirth outpaces the reaction that seems so miscalculated. That doesn't imply just taking this barrage meekly.

Keep in mind that none of that will be proposed here, where the newest quantum a.i. will diligently notate every point of anthropic recursion (or so they say...)

          [–]Gottmituns 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

That neoliberal theme is wearing thin. With a consistent approach, the pacification will fail under sustained stress.

The skewed notions of the political spectrum are interesting to spot in an academic context, but in the tellurian space, a broader revisioning might have appeal. No more getting stuck inthe corrals. We can't go on with partisan, twisted phraseology for too long. I had some hope in the postmarxist (or whatever they are now) insight on these popular antagonisms but we may have to get more of the left and center out of those circles to see the bigger picture.

Indeed we will not hamhandedly toss our chances away when some of the brighter spirits we need still turn back to a fundamentalist critique. The shock of all of it is still hitting the world.

In this case, the only question is how many can see that the TRAs are agents of the new system that hates us all, how many we can shake from the brainwashing.

The problem is the far right has been so intolerant for so long that when they criticize something legitimate (like transing children) they are ignored, boy who cried wolf style. This is why it isn't meaning much coming from them.

There's a very long history of Far Right intolerance in the US. It is very sad that now I'm as scared of the Left as I am of the Right.

No, not really. The far left is simply representing the jewish power while the far right is opposed to the jewish power. Hence your jewish media have painted a picture in your head that that is true. Look no further than 2020 where it was reported that the far right terror threat was greater than the left. In 2020? Where the far left went around looting, burning and murdering the entire summer? Just lol if you actually believe any of the jewish media

If I were the father, I’d just take her and flee to Hungary. Shit like that wouldn’t fly over there. I’d raise her there, make her learn Hungarian and cancel her Canadian citizenship.

Then again, you can only move to Hungary if you have Hungarian ancestry or an EU passport. Maybe the father could get refugee status?

Finkelstein actually regretted helping Orbán come to power. Although you are right. Viktor Orbán is a friend of Benjamin Netanyahu, and Netanyahu is a scumbag. But the people of Hungary are pretty cool.

That's what's going to happen in the US. Already in California a carer who repeatedly "mis-genders" can be jailed for a year/$1000 fine. California also allows men to self-identify as women and be housed in women's prisons.

(I saw this on a feminist site) So the penalty for "misgendering" a man who claims to be a woman is to potentially get locked in a cell and get raped by a man who claims to be a woman.

Good ol' California - just keep on keeping on...
