YES.

I'm questioning my sexuality but even I know this.

Bisexuality is a sexual attraction towards both males and females. ONLY MALES AND FEMALES can be bisexual. If someone really is ''nonbinary'' as they say and they claim to be bisexual then sorry to break it to you but they're not bi at all.

I’m not bisexual, but I can see that bisexual people are being exploited by TRAs and woke activists to a greater extent than gay and lesbian people. Bisexuals who want to stop this have my full support.

The TQ+ movement is entirely predicated on aggressively prescribing new meanings to words to which literally no one outside of TQ+ circles agreed upon. Then, they demand everyone use their new made up definitions because “language changes,” while ignoring how actual language change works.

I think what motivated me to make this thread is because in this case they weren't saying that "language changes" but rather that bisexuality always meant that. In a way I think this is even worse. I've seen them rewriting history a lot regarding Stonewall, but this about bisexuality was a first.

Is this the next step? Demand everyone use new definitions and then gaslight everyone into thinking those have always been the definitions?

Gaslighting is the word I came here to say. Yes.

It's bound to happen when you fuck around with language, this is for both sides, so... I honestly cannot be bothered by when they do it (I'll still correct them becuase that shit is annoying) when hipocrisy is allowed on the other side of a certain group.

Social Media is a total cesspool. I've stopped being surprised whenever I see this kind of bold faced manipulation.

Anyone who thinks bi people can just be "attracted to anything" are so aggressively disregarding them as people and using them as political objects. It makes me sick.

It is obvious that they are changing meanings, because the bi in bisexual has always meant "the two sexes". Proof:

1) Before all this TRA non sense people recognized only two sexes. Gender is the polite form for the same word.

2) Straight means "attracted to the opposite sex". OPPOSITE, not any other one which isn't yours.

So bisexual has always implied that you're both things, "straight" and "gay", you like the opposite sex and your own. TWO sexes.

Pansexual label was invented when modern medicine was able to successfully make up people in the opposite sex. Since it's not that obvious to like someone with mixed up parts, they invented the label pan, which means "all", in this case you like any combination of appearance.

Screaming that this origin is transphobic won't change our sexualities.

So, now that the TRAs hate the term pansexuality because it's transphobic now, and they've opted for using the term bisexual+ to make the word bisexual more "inclusive".

I actually came across the term skoliosexual, which means attraction to transgender and non-binary people...why don't they use that instead of friggin bisexual +(the TQ+ is really obsessed with these plus signs).

Actually LOL there shouldn't even be a sexuality to define liking these made up genders because at the end of the day, you are either male or female.

So a heterosexual, homosexual, OR bisexual can be attracted to someone who calls themselves 'queer', 'non-binary', or even 'trans', though it is NOT a large percentage based on this study stating that 87.5% of homosexuals, heterosexuals, bisexuals, 'non-binary', 'queer', and even trans individuals would not date trans people. Only a very small percentage would, and here is how the percentages read for those who would date trans people:

1.8% straight women, 3.3% straight men, 11.5% gay men, 22% lesbians, and with 48% of bisexual/queer/non-binary that would NOT.

Not sure WHY they lumped bisexual with queer or non-binary as those are not sexual orientations, so unsure how accurate this data is to be honest.

This is just a bonus but...I like that the creator of the flag, Michael Page said the meaning of the bisexual flag is the following:

Page describes the meaning of the pink, lavender, and blue (ratio 2:1:2) flag[1] as this: "The pink color represents sexual attraction to the same sex only (gay and lesbian). The blue represents sexual attraction to the opposite sex only (straight) and the resultant overlap color purple represents sexual attraction to both sexes (bi)."

Ever since I discovered that, I liked the bisexual flag haha.

Edit: Spelling & grammer

Amen! TRAs bullshitting about “attraction to many genders” need to reread the word. BI. SEXUAL. Attraction to both of the two sexes.

I don't know how many times I need to say this, but radical and fringe activists don't get to dictate definitions to the rest of society. Language is above any one person or group and they can fuck off trying to define a word with a closed definition (closed in that it derives from dead languages and they can't change the meaning of words).

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I think people have a right to make a decision about who they are attracted to and not to be shamed for it— that includes what genitals, sex characteristics, or gender those people have.
