It seems kind of odd that LGB people have been well-documented throughout all of civilization, but trans people have only been around since the mid-twentieth century with a major uptick in the past decade. It’s almost like the former group is a naturally occurring phenomenon and the latter isn’t.

They have solved this problem by transing every strong female historical figure: Marie Curie, Joan of Arc, all the female authors who published under a male name, all Viking women. If history doesn't feature your cult, just rewrite history.

The Joan of Arc thing makes me really angry. She saw herself being a woman as central to being chosen by God. (A woman arising from the marshes of Lorraine was a popular belief in France during her lifetime.) Just because she preferred “men’s” clothes (which were basically just leggings) and wasn’t afraid to fight, doesn’t make her trans.

Jeanne d'Arc was wearing "feminine" cloths by todays standarts, but those were "masculine" cloths back then. So it is even more weird with their own description of femininity and masculinity.

JK Rowling published under men's name too, so her books are taken seriously. I guess she is trans now and all attacks on her are just transphobia.

You joke, but I've seen some people speculate that JKR is secretly trans and all her criticism of extreme trans activism is just internalized transphobia. An incredibly niche conspiracy theory, but one that just shows how far the denial goes in some of them.

But remember, being trans doesn't have anything to do with how feminine or masculine someone is <insert eyeroll>.

This is what gives me the most scepticism about trans identity being a natural phenomenon and not a purely social one.

It seems even more odd that this phenomenon is not occuring naturally in countries where women have no rights, and it only occuring by force (Iran, Thailand) nowadays. And that homosexuality is observable in animal world too, but not transgenderism.

In their minds transwomen are responsible to everything good in our society. They trans those who are dead and try to rewrite history. Women right to vote? thank transwomen. Gay rights? transwomen, walking on the moon? i'm sure they believe transwomen were involved somehow. They believe drag queens stole their image for transwomen so it's no surprise they are coming for lesbians.

But if you ask them to supply literally one instance for any of their claims, you’re suddenly a bigot who should educate yourself. Like, please, show me one transbian who’s contributed anything to lesbian culture. Just one.

But if you ask them to supply literally one instance for any of their claims, you’re suddenly a bigot who should educate yourself

And if you pursue the point, then it becomes "omg why are you so obsessed with this?" still without any attempt to back up what they originally said

[–]CJLez 38 insightful - 5 fun38 insightful - 4 fun39 insightful - 5 fun -  (5 children)

They trans those who are dead and try to rewrite history.

A woman adopting a pen-name or dressing in masculine clothing to get a job that women were forbidden from doing in the 1700-1800s? Nope! Transman. Everyone knows that historical women are feeble minded people who never tried to succeed or gain rights in any way.

A gay drag queen on camera stating how he finds it funny that people don't belive he is a gay man? Nope! Transwomen. Everyone knows flamboyant men don't exist - if she was living in a more accepting society she would have been openly trans.

A butch lesbian drag king, living in New York, who died in 2014, way after being trans became mainstream and all of their friends say that they were a lesbian? Nope! Transman. Everyone knows that drag performers never used opposite sex pronouns to refer to themselves, that is something that only trans people do.

Deborah Samson dressed as a man so she could fight the British in the American Revolution and then spent the rest of her life living as woman? Nah, trans. Mary Ann Evans had to publish books as George Eliot to be taken seriously as an author? Nah, trans.

It’s maddening that they can’t see that women have historically had to pretend to be men to be able to do much of anything in the world.

[–]MezozoicGayoldschool gay 10 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 0 fun11 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Recently there was published book about Margaret Ann Bulkley (James Barry), woman who wanted to be a surgeon, but it was impossible for a woman to work as a medic, under the threat of prison, and they are claiming she was trans as well. As someone said before - they are thinking that women in 3rd world countries 200 years ago had same rights as they, white males in modern 1st world contries, have today. And that they were living perfectly fine and they just chose to beome trans because they were trans, as they could do all same as a woman in their eyes.

[–]Cuppatea 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

So true. More than 400 women disguised themselves as men and fought in the Union and Confederate armies during the Civil War. I have some awareness of this because a friend is writing a book about it. They HAD to dress as men, and many joined because they were single women with no family and needed the money.

[–]8bitgay 17 insightful - 1 fun17 insightful - 0 fun18 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

What I find funnier is when they say that people from other cultures are trans. For example, saying that feminine male characters and masculine female characters in manga/anime are trans. When people point out that they identify as male/female, the answer is always "you're ignoring the cultural differences and being disrespectful to that culture! They aren't being called trans just because the word isn't common in that culture1".

Well, if that's the case isn't it colonialist to say that your word should be applied to them? If they're considered male/female in their own culture, who gave you the right to give them a word that they don't use? Why is your culture better than theirs? Why is it ok for you to call others trans, but we can't call gay/lesbian someone who identifies as queer?

As much as they preach for self identification, they love identifying others.

[–]MezozoicGayoldschool gay 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

If gender stereotype of being feminine is to have big muscles in one culture, than musculed man will be feminine. But gender ideologists are not understanding that cultures in world are different. It is clearly seen with their tries on "Latinx" and other changes to gendered languages, not realizing how those langaugaes work at all. They think adding new gender is just change ending in few words and that is it, while in reality adding new gender require changing every second word and some word interractions.

Jesus was wearing dress-like cloths, this means Jesus was trans, and Jesus is a son of a God and God, who created everything. So transes created everything.

Your so right. I tied to link to a NYT article today about how much lesbians ( which the Times chose to label as queers) fought for women’s right to vote. (I didn’t title it correctly —my fault) Next trans lesbians will insist they were the ones that won women’s right to vote.

HOLD UP! Now I have to make a second comment because is this MTF dumb-ass trying to imply MTF Men-preTendingtobe-Female human beings influenced lesbian culture in any way whatsoever? At first read I automatically assumed he meant the "FTM" (butch/masculine presenting women of the past who they are in the process of posthumously transing one by one.) But no, he literally lives on a planet where he thinks transsexuals/transvestites had anything to do with lesbian culture on planet earth. In what year?? The 1920's? The 1880's? The 1960's? When were these two groups doing anything together? The transsexuals were too busy trying to be straight women and the transvestites were too busy putting on their wives panties.

I'm so sick of people straight up LYING about the past like this. We get it TRA's. You are nothing without a past, so you try to fake one, but with a fake past, you only further prove that you are fake as well.

[–]a_blue_bird 21 insightful - 10 fun21 insightful - 9 fun22 insightful - 10 fun -  (0 children)

What is he referring to? The ''I want tiddy'' and ''lesbians love girldick'' memes on r/actuallesbians? It's the antithesis of culture. We could say that transwomen have contributed to the degradation of lesbian culture, but that's about it.

[–]8bitgay 25 insightful - 1 fun25 insightful - 0 fun26 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

Ah yeah Tom of Finland was a trans woman.

They couldn't hide it like we could

I know trans people who hide it from their family and got married before same-sex marriage was legal (their partner was opposite sex). Sure they had to conform to their sex for the wedding cerimony but that's a small price to pay for a life of legal rights. To their family they're still just a happy straight couple. People can choose where and when to express gender.

Unless he thinks that trans people are only valid if they try to pass 100% of the time... But somehow I guess that he would disagree with this statement.

It'd be much harder to hide sexuality. If you want to pass an image of a happy straight couple you'd have to find someone to be your beard. In places/times when gay marriage isn't allowed, a cis gay man can't just put on a dress and pretend to be a woman for a day to get married to another man.

Not to mention that there isn't a single country that punishes transexuality while allowing homosexuality. Yet, there are countries that punish homosexuality while allowing transexuality.

The worst one I've seen is many, many people claiming that Alan Turing was trans because he had 'chose to have HRT'. Never mind the fact that it was forced chemical castration that utterly destroyed him both physically and mentally.

It was honestly heartbreaking the first time I saw them claim it but they keep citing each other and eventually it'll end up in a Newspaper and then considered factual and we'll be bigots for saying he should have never been tortured like that.

The funny thing about Tom of Finland is that I saw him being mentioned by the TQ supporters recently (not the TQ themselves, though).

It was a Twitter thread some time ago complaining about the "masc4masc" gays. They mentioned that the model of masculinity that these masc4masc gays follow nowadays is derived from Tom of Finland's works, and that they owe everything to "us". "Us" in this case being the "feminine" men. Obviously when they say feminine men they aren't talking about actually feminine or androgynous men, but rather about the kind of effeminate men who try to emulate drag queen and support TQ.

I couldn't believe that they could be so blind to what they were saying. They were actually using Tom of Finland, a man that spent years creating unapologetically cis gay sexual imagery, for the "you owe it all to us" line. If Tom of Finland lived nowadays and was popular enough, they'd be the first ones to cancel the guy complaining that he doesn't draw trans men, that he doesn't draw effeminate men, etc.
