Being turned off is a normal part of attraction, not just if the person is trans. For example, I would be turned off if I found out that someone I liked was strictly vegan and guilted me for using animal products. I wouldn't be a veganphobe or bigot if I stopped dating her, I would stop dating her because we are clearly incompatible in one important aspect of the relationship.

Can someone please make a graphic of the amount of people who are gay, trans and disabled?

Because the actual percentage of that happening is minimal but it almost seems like half the trans community are (self-declared) disabled in one way or another. Everyone seems to be neurodivergent or have a conveniently invisible illness. As someone who ironically is homosexual, neuroatypical (a far more appropriate, less wokey term) and has an invisible dysautonomic condition, it's sickening how many fake these conditions to get woke and intersectionality points both online and IRL.

Forgot to add that it's sick how much they go on about how 'dangerous' it will be for the transbians if a lesbian finds out they're trans. It's almost as if they don't realise that transbians are usually physically stronger plus often don't take rejection well. At. All.

But of course, transbians need to worry about being in danger. Naturally.

However, he made the mistake of defending JKR, so now everyone who was calling him stunning and brave are now calling him a TERF, albeit with far nicer language than they would usually afford any actual woman who expresses the same opinion.

They do realise that all treatment henceforth will be considered elective and cosmetic, therefore not taxpayer funded. What are TRAs actually trying to achieve?

Being homosexual never required treatment, so its downgrade from mental illness meant that people could go off and live their gay/bi lives. Trans people rely completely on medical services to treat their shit...unless what they're planning is for not only trans to not be considered a mental illness, but they don't even plan on transitioning medically or physically, it's just in name only?

We shouldn't have to disclose it because sure, preferences I guess, but it really shouldn't be that big of a deal in the way that it is. And I'm not talking about abuse victims or a preference. If it matters that much then change your sexual identification since you wanna exclude trans people.

And when we changed our sexual identification to indicate that we want to exclude transpeople (super-), then you whine about that as well.

Also cannot stand that the only way (in their view) that you can justify not wanting to sleep with the opposite sex is to have been sexually abused or assaulted. What happened to 'no is a full sentence' and 'consent can be retracted at any point'?

The line in my opinion is that you should not show someone genitals they're not expecting. So if you're pre- or non-GRS that's something you should disclose before getting (that) intimate. Not doing that first of all could be extremely dangerous for you, and also just isn't a good time to spring it on someone even if they're totally fine with it.

This started off so well and then

Other than that I don't think there's any moral obligation for anything. I'd say treat it the same way you would treat a) finding out whether someone has the same values as you and b) finding out whether you're sexually compatible in general (eg if you're a stone top I'd also recommend having a conversation about it before you go to have sex for the first time).

No, having the wrong gentials and biological sex is not the same as having the wrong values. Wrong values don't get erect 'in a feminine way'.

The people telling you you're a deceiver if you don't disclose that before the first date are full of shit. Get to know someone first if that's what's comfortable for you!

[–]lovelyspearmint 29 insightful - 1 fun29 insightful - 0 fun30 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Queer has always been an insult. Queer means strange, not normal, weird. Gay has been used as an insult but at its root, it means happy/joyous. That's why it can be reclaimed.

Homosexual is clinical, but why isn't heterosexual also considered clinical and offensive? Is it because it hasn't been used with derision, because that seems to be the case these days. Also I weirdly find homosexual non-offensive if it's said with four syllables rather than five, if that makes sense?

As someone who took years to realise that there was something different about me other than being unattracted to men, it's disgusting how proud they are of having physical and mental disabilities. I've got autism along with a physical disability (the first of which I have only disclosed to three people in my life due to the stigma, the other is more easy to understand and people don't treat me all that differently when I tell them), and there is absolutely nothing to celebrate or be proud of there. You can lose your job if you tell someone (not because of it because of 'laws', but they'd find a way to make you redundant regardless), and because of children and attention seeking adult morons speaking for us and over us, nobody will take you seriously even if you do tell them.

There's nothing cute about stimming, and the way these assholes describe it (and they just love to do so), they always make it seem almost like a sexual urge (talking about mouthfeel, how good it feels to stim 🤮).

There's also nothing fun about being disabled. As a result of autism, I never learnt many things that people take for granted, especially social cues. I can't eat most food because of strong smells or tastes, noises sound a hell of a lot louder to me and stress me out, and simply leaving the comfort of my home means I will undoubtedly be mentally exhausted by interactions and sensory input by midday, at the very least and if not earlier. Being behind a keyboard, reading WebMD and finding a few similarities isn't the same thing as being officially diagnosed. Being socially awkward is normal, not knowing left from right as a fully grown adult is not. Being annoyed by little things out of place isn't OCD, routinely checking if you've locked the third lock on the back door 14 times is.

I (almost) wish the ones who are LARPing disabilities, of which there are a fuckton, would spend a year Freaky Fridayed and saddled with each and every one of these conditions they so desperately want to have. All of a sudden, we'd see a drop in Twitter bio letter counts.

Rant over. (Just being sick of being in not only the lesbian closet because of these idiots, but the autism closet too)

Depending on where you live, you're likely to encounter these people outside as well, except you can't turn them off. For example, I went to a female bathroom a few days ago, only to see a man in an illfitting blouse and skirt waltz on in, stop, look over the women washing their hands with a smile on his face, as if he can't believe that he's able to do this, before going to the cubicles. That's definitely not creepy and something I won't encounter in the outside world, right?

Not to mention there's transwomen who come to my work that I have to interact with. One older AGP got way too close to me, then when I told them that we need to social distance, he put his hand on my arm and said in a falsetto 'sorry, sweetie, I didn't notice'. He knows exactly what he was doing and was trying to see how far he could go.

So no, going outside isn't any better if you live in a progressive city. I'd love to live wherever you are.

Edit: Getting too close is something that I've seen middle-aged to elderly men do in general (more so when I was younger, but it's happening again now that I've lost a lot of weight), so I wasn't surprised by the AGP's behaviour in the slightest, just made extremely uncomfortable.

I didn't add the picture, but it's a dude with a full beard and there are other pictures with his shirt off and clearly no chest scars that would indicate that it's a trans man. Also Her doesn't allow you to block people you're not interested in, no, they have to have some good reason why you don't want to see this person, like if they're underage, or threatening self harm. It's to stop people from excluding people from their dating pool, I think?

"Same-sex attraction" is used to create distance between the person and their feelings, disarming the very successful LGBTQ strategy of focusing on a) love instead of sex, and b) an immutable characteristic of identity rather than a given act.

Wait, this person realises same-sex attraction means sex as in sexual characteristics, not sex as in sexual intercourse, right? Also gender identity isn't immutable, unlike sex.

Is it because it's specifically aimed at kids, cause I'm pretty sure kids as young as 6 or 7 devour the entire Harry Potter series within months.

That's why that quote I saw on here a while back "How can they feel pride when they've never felt shame?" hits so hard. They've never felt shame for liking the opposite sex, and doing mental gymnastics so that they're 'gay' and 'lesbian' and therefore should feel shameful doesn't count (and I doubt they actually feel shame, since they know no matter what, people will sing their praises and encourage their fetishisation).

The worst part is that a lot of them are probably perfectly sane, just narcissistic and acutely aware of the benefits of claiming to be trans (of which there are remarkably many, and are surprisingly not always offered to LGB).

I think a sizable chunk of people who are trans these days insist that a) it's not a mental illness (but they still want to have any treatment publicly funded as if it is), and b) gender dysphoria is no longer required for a person to be trans. So no, I think when they say disabled, it's usually something nebulous like neurodiversity (which can mean anything really) or an invisible illness where there are no obvious issues seen from pictures alone.

I have to explain to them that if I do that, I run the risk of being harassed, banned, or worse, doxxed, so I have to ignore that shit even though I want to make it clear to anyone I like/connect that that's not something I'm interested in.

I'd wager about 80-90 percent of people who say they've got autism spectrum disorder (especially in the QT community) are self-diagnosers who aren't actually autistic. Actual autistic people are then convinced by these narcissists that their gender-nonconforming is actually a sign of being trans, and they trust them because they think the self-diagnosers are autistic themselves.

Please don't demonise and associate autistic people with the rest of these narcissistic, attention-seeking creeps.

It's not just trans. It's series having a 'Cast of Gay'. As in, the majority of the cast, if not the entire cast, are gay, bisexual, lesbian, (queer, trans). It's bothering me mostly because a) it's unrealistic statistics wise, and b) unless the author actually is gay/bisexual/lesbian (excluding transgays, transbians, non-binaries and pamsexuals), it feels like fetishisation, trend following and/or virtue-signalling, not a genuine desire to write about LGB characters.

One good example is the influx of 'cute' gay romances like Red, White and Royal Blue which purely exist for women to squee over. Just one look at the Goodreads page is enough to tell me this is written by women for women.

Another example of what I mean is the popularity of Gideon the Ninth and its sequel. I was interested when I heard the author was a lesbian, but then when I did a bit of digging about her partner on her Twitter account, I found that her partner is and continues to be a man. So she's using the lesbian label to promote her books about lesbian necromancers, and she has (since publishing) talked about her husband as a partner, never letting slip that he's a man.

The cherry on top is Sarah Gailey and her bullshit. She's a queer non-binary (who smartly never reveals the gender of her 'partner', always uses they), writes books with casts of LGBTQI+ people of colour (intersectional af), including a series set in alternate history Wild West where everyone is fine with people being LGB and respect and never question people's pronouns 🤮 I can stand that in far future sci-fi, but it's jarring and forceful in anything set in the past.

I think it's also the choice of words. I've often heard (often bisexual, but not always) people say 'everyone is a little bisexual' and 'sexuality is fluid', when what they should be saying is 'some people are bisexual' and 'some bisexuals prefer one sex over the other, which is why they feel that their sexuality is fluid'. It's the fact that the statements are so sweeping and don't allow space for people who are only interested in a single sex.

The only issue is that gay men, lesbians, and bisexuals didn't really willingly influence kids into becoming LGBT, but the 180 turn from gays being hated to gays being celebrated/an influx of gay pandering media made being gay a highly desirable lifestyle choice (in the eyes of those who aren't actually gay) rather than an immutable state of being.
