I do find "gay transmen" to be rather strange. Especially with how they seem to think most gay and bisexual men are like bad stereotypes of super camp/effeminate men when most gay and bisexual men are not like this at all.

More concerning is the homophobia/biphobic transmen and transwomen seem to tend to openly promote or make no secret about. Or one of the first "gay transmen" I met she/he had a homophobic/biphobic slur in Spanish tattooed on her body. Not to mention they are clueless about how to have safe sex to prevent HIV/STD transmission, take it raw, and then are completely shocked when they get Pozzed.

Huh? You seem to have issues with bisexual women.

I first heard the "gold star" term from gay men who were super angry that before they were out they had sex with women, married women, etc.

I am not sure of your age but if you were alive in the 1970s-1990s or even early 2000s, and in the gay/LGB scene you would know that many gay men really dislike lesbians, want nothing to do with them, and are strangely homophobic towards lesbians. I don't mean in a joking way either.

I read the comments, the "gold star only" gay men and lesbian women are odd. I have gay male friends who as teens or young adults in the 1970s or early 1980s had sex with women as they had no idea how to meet bisexual and gay men as sexual partners-they were in denial, closeted, or scared and too young to go to bars and did not even buy or read gay/LGB magazines or newspapers to place personal ads or porn magazines, or out of familial/societal pressure dated and had sex with women, they told me how sex with women just showed them how they are not sexually attracted to women at all, any woman. They did not find sex with women nasty but it was basically little better than jerking off or masturbating with someone else's body and they had to think about men, male bodies to get hard, stay hard, and finish.

Another friend is a "gold star" gay and he really dislikes the whole "Ewwww a woman!" Attitude some gay men have.

I guess I would be a "gold star" bisexual as I have never had sex with anyone trans.

What about bisexuals like me who came out as gay/homosexual first in our youth as teens or young adults, but then in our 20s or 30s or later we realize we are bisexual and identify as such. It is not always easy to put bisexuality into ratios/percentages but we tend to go from 50/50 to 90% same sex/10% opposite sex.

Or the revisionist history about the Stonewall demonstrations, it was not started by transwomyn of colour, nobody who is trans was there or a part of it, most POC LGB people were deeply closeted, and not out but it was like this for most non-POC LGB people as well then, and I know multiple people who were at the Stonewall demonstrations and the people there were gay, bisexual, and lesbian but not trans at all.

I suppose I might? I saw trans people in public before they became super mainstream, and trans people would go to my city to get surgery as it was not done elsewhere. Granted these were adults, not children or teens and they were in super low numbers like maybe five or six trans people for a million non-trans. I would talk to the trans people and they told me how they had gone through years or decades of psychotherapy and lived as the sex they are biologically and genetically before ever deciding as adults to transition. This is not happening today at all.

Also it was always super open and accepting of LGB people even during the 1960s and 1970s and before Stonewall, but most people were discreet or kept it private.

I also know of an author who is out as asexual and apparently is asexual, as well as non-binary or gender queer/queer, but she claims to be a "lesbian", which if she really were lesbian or only sexually attracted to women only, she would not be asexual or not attracted to anyone of any sex including women. Based and true. I read something yesterday how a "gay woman" or lesbian is married to a trans man, yet she is not bisexual. I am not sure if this was a case of a lesbian GF deciding to transition or identify as a man until after marriage, but I wouldn't be surprised if this happened? Maybe the trans man figures "if I identify as a man/male" my wife and I will be more accepted as heterosexual rather than a lesbian/same sex married couple? I know a transwoman who transitioned partially just took hormones never had a full sex change operation, and had legal documents changed from Male to Female, and then married her boyfriend long before same sex marriage was ever legal anywhere.

I wouldn't be surprised if trans people and trans activists try to rewrite history and claim that when HIV/AIDS was spreading in the 1970s and early 1980s that transpeopleofcolor and POC were instrumental in starting HIV/AIDS health and educational orgs, promoting safe sex, etc. When in reality if you were there or alive then trans people were not involved in this, and most LGB POC were deeply closeted, did not care about HIV/AIDS or thought it only effected white gay and bisexual men and junkies, or did not want to do anything yet still had unsafe sex like they were used to.

Why are asexuals now being included with LGB people? Asexuals have no sexual attraction to anyone. The FTM forum is full of women who think being a bisexual or gay man means you are a walking bad stereotype or caricture of a gay or bisexual man, and trans'men' have no idea how to be masculine or male. Also the way trans men want to force bisexual and gay men as well as lesbian and bi women to have sex with them is not just a total turn off, but basically sexual harassment.

The gold star identity is silly and pointless. A gay friend who has never had sex with a woman hates it when gay men have the 'ewwww! A woman' or lesbians have the 'nasty men and their cocks!' mentality.

My gay and lesbian friends who have had sex with the opposite sex when they were not certain of their sexuality, knew but were closeted, etc. said how sex with the opposite sex just made them realise how they are gay/homosexual.

It was spread from chimpanzees to humans via consumption of raw or under cooked bush meat in Sub-Saharan Africa, vaginal and anal sex without condoms and prostitution, blood transfusions and medical professionals not using new or sterile equipment, and IV drug users sharing needles.

I am bisexual and feel the same way. Local bisexual and LGBT discussion/social groups have been taken over by trans, NB, and asexuals that bully, monopolize discussion or make it ALL about them and not about being bisexual and then say how we bisexual people must identify as pansexual, or worse the slur queer 'deeer because bi means two and it is transphobia!' and that we must sleep with, date, partner with trans people despite how we are not attracted to them...😒

I feel bad for his husband and their partner, but it's no wonder why the "husband" has a fuck buddy on the side since the asexual guy and he do not have sex at all.

You cannot be asexual, and gay, bisexual, heterosexual, etc. as people who are asexual are not sexually attracted to anyone.

But the whole "bear" thing has been a joke for 30 years, it used to describe larger masculine hairy and bearded white bisexual and gay men, but now it is a catch all for anyone morbidly obese and it never applied to anyone of any other race.

I met others like this, like a guy at a concert who told me how he is "pansexual" but when I told him I am bisexual and that this other guy friend he was with was cute he told me how he is really heterosexual. 🙄

Jane Ward the sociologist in the article is a moron and she used Craigslist which was full of bots, fake ads, spammers, picture collectors, etc.

The author of the article is not unique or his experience is not uncommon. I know gay men who when they were teens or in their early 20s had sex with and even married women, this was in the 1970s and early 1980s when they thought that if you are gay you had to be effeminate, a drag queen, etc. Or they had no idea how to meet men to date or have sex with and women were available, or they did not know they are gay or did not want to be gay but thought that sex with a woman would make them heterosexual.

I know boomers like this they will claim they are "gay man or lesbian woman, but married to someone of the opposite sex" and it is not a marriage of convenience as they are bisexual and sexually and romantically attracted to both sexes.

Ugh that is as bad as a heterosexual academic I knew in the early 1990s who said he is 'queer and a male lesbian' because he would cheat on his wife with poor prostitutes that had the misfortune of having to have sex with him, I hope they overcharged him.

Which country are you from, or where is this?

In the past there were leathersex, kink, and BDSM events but children, trans people, and asexuals were not there, and you always saw LGB men and women wearing leather at pride events but there were always many more drag queens and twinks.

No. I do not go to LGB/LGBT pride events, and back when I would go to bars they would be mobbed with tourists which isn't a bad thing as the bar, staff, and city need to make money but the parades have been useless for decades.

Lmao trans people still do this. They hate anything for bisexual and gay men, and lesbian and bi women. The worst are the trans people who say that if you are bi or gay you are TRANSPHOBIC and must identify as pansexual and you must sleep with trans people.

This is as bad as an academic I met in the early 1990s who said he is 'queer and a male lesbian' because he cheated on his wife with prostitutes.😂🙄🤡🌏
