This is wrong but I bet it will be blown widely out of proportion by transphobes who wouldn't have looked twice if it was a cis woman.

Yes none of the conservatives upset by this would be bothered by a topless woman at the official house of the leader of our country. Or anyone else with a sense of decorum.

Nope, nothing sexual at all about an naked adult, male or female. The only reason they don't hold press conferences in the nude is because it gets cold in the briefing room. And she was well in her right to go topless in an appropriate setting, like a government event.

Yes but social norms can change. It would be highly inappropriate to expose your ankles 1890, but now that’s not weird at all. It was highly in appropriate for a woman to smoke, it was highly inappropriate for women to do plenty of things. You act like culture doesn’t change but very clearly it does. Female breasts are going to be a-okay in public if we don’t keep backsliding like we currently are.

Because it was once risqué for women to show ankles, we need more women to show their vaginas at white house events.

There are a lot of sensible comments on this thread about how it was a stupid move. More of the responders to this post seem to understand exactly that it's gender that's fueling the current anti-LGBTQ backlash than would be the case, for example, on your average AskGayBros post.

Honestly it's very clear this was a bad move for our community at this time. When we are under a microscope and stores selling swimwear for trans women who are pre op is a national emergency meriting bomb threats and all kinds of things, and brands producing a single can with a trans woman on it is a national emergency meriting bomb threats, it should be obvious this will only hurt us. I'm guessing she needed to boost her influencer career and get some attention and that's all she thought about.

Uhm... you do know the bomb threats were from LGBTQ+ people because target was about to remove the pride merch... right? And I saw no bomb threats over bud light just a boycott

I was listening to a pro trans conservative on a podcast and he questioned why people were upset since being critical of a topless transwomen should be trans-affirming since the person wes being subjected to female social modesty standards.
