Pride is for gay, for lesbian

No room for "same-sex attracted"

This morning AOC has made some dumb statement that reproductive justice (meaning abortion) is for everyone. Same vibe.

The only place they haven't fully tried to go with this is race. Perhaps because the right wing got there first with 'All lives Matter'. Give it time though.

What do you mean? Did AOC qualify her statement later?

Sorry it was actually a few days ago she was talking about it. It was an interview where she's talking about 'menstruators' and 'birthing people' and how it's not just women that need abortions. The usual far left stuff that's a mirror to the far right stuff!

Translation: Pride is for perverted heteros, not homosexuals.

The way they put same-sex attraction in scare quotes, when 1 or 2 years ago this was a perfectly standard, uncontroversial way to describe sexual orientation, even in woke circles. For the vast majority of people same and opposite sex attraction are non-controversial and easily understood.

The scramble and race to controversialize such basic terms shows how scared the TRA movement is. They're trying to make it impossible for us to describe our own love lives and experiences, because they know their gender ideology doesn't hold up to reality

They aren't the same activists from 30 years ago, but people who were born and grew up in ultra-liberal, upper-middle class context.

These social media warriors didn't experience the heat activists from the last century did, so they consider the most casual, non-consequence things as the pinnacle of opression.

They're bored, overpriviledged kids/infantilized adults who want to feel special without putting any effort into it.

No room for same-sex attracted people in Pride?! They've completely lost the plot. Pride is FOR & BY LGB people, after all how can these loons feel pride when they've never felt shame?!

This pisses me off so much! I know I've said this before but Pride helped me come to terms with my sexuality and I hate that straight people have colonized one of the few spaces left for gay youth to be "out and proud" before their ready to come all the way out :( I weep for LGB kids and teens growing up in this climate of woke homophobia, It's made coming out even more complicated.

how can these loons feel pride when they've never felt shame

Always will love this quote, but the only problem is they can throw the whole 'I've been shamed for being ace/demisexual/trans' and there's no arguing with these sorts of people.

Am I the only one who noticed that their screaming “No room, no room!” makes them soun a lot like those innkeepers of Judeo-Christian theology who said more or less the same thing to Mary and Joseph?

I’m not religious, but you don’t have to be to get the unconscious connotation of their words - it’s saturated western culture for millennia, and thus, will trigger a negative reaction in most people (in the West, at least) who hear it.

But, these imbeciles are too dumb to understand that!😂

Pride is for everyone who agrees with me on everything.

They will never admit it, however.

To be honest, I don’t care if I get banned from going to pride parades. They make gay people look bad. And it’s mostly middle class heterosexual youths who go to these things.

I refuse to be polite on this subject now. Dr John Money, Jamie Shupe... These are names I will drop into any conversation that fawns over trans cult nonsense.

My initial "play along, be polite" capacity has been exhausted.

I've already left. I have no interest in going to Pride.

for ace and aro

no thanks. straight people who want oppression points are going to have to try a lot harder than that

Leave? Shit, I've been out since 1997 and have never even gone to Pride in the 4 cities I've lived in, including Atlanta and Miami with significant LGB populations. I never liked parades nor celebrations in general.

I went to one pride parade and that was enough for me.

During 'Pride Month' (shock quotes absolutely deliberate) my company released a series of videos and statements from 'our LGBTQIA+ colleagues' on what 'Pride means to them'.

I didn't get involved because Jesus Christ, no. But if I had, I would have said something like you did:

Pride means being able to wear fetish gear in the street while claiming that being an aromantic greysexual puts me in the same league of the Oppression Olympics as gay men who are thrown off buildings in the Middle East. 🏳️‍🌈

This level of cognitive dissonance/mental gymnastics honestly shouldn't be possible yet here we are.
