Not surprising that the retention of gay employees was poor. They must have been horrified by the reality of this experimentation. I'm glad they are able to speak up now. Sadly it's coming too late for some children who are too far along this pathway.

It drives me a bit insane that the obvious isn't obvious to everyone.

They probably had some kind of top down legal threat in the background. We have various NDA and HIPAA issues in the US and probably some similar issues in the UK. In the US we are often forced to sign various documents as a condition for employment. Those agreements are often completely unenforceable but there is still a pressure to follow them.

I had to sign a noncompete agreement for my job and that isn't legally binding in my state AFAIK but it's still there and I could be dragged into court over it.

Conversion therapy?! Of gay kids! At a gender clinic?! Color me shocked 🤯

I hope this is the beginning of the end for all this madness. I can't stomach reading another article about a "trans toddler", it makes me so fucking sad, a generation of gay kids forever changed and in the name of "lgbTQ+++ rights" (aka not actually rights at all, just ridiculous delusional demands)

They should have mentioned that Keira Bell is lesbian. It would have been the perfect opportunity, but they never do. They never bring up sexual orientation, no matter how relevant it is. It's not just relevant, but paramount when it comes to children with cross-gender identification.

So many studies on trans people fail to account for sexual orientation. It's like everyone has forgotten that gay people exist & they are hyper aware of trans identities. Even if they are staring all the hallmarks of homosexuality in the face, they still won't see it. Instead, all they'll see is another "egg".

I hope this article is part of a sea of change. It's too bad almost no gay people work at Tavistock anymore, since they seem to be the only ones who care about this issue of transition as conversion therapy.

It's so gross that they use the term "egg" for the victims of their homophobic grooming--to crack an egg means to destroy it/break it/irreversibly harm the egg.

They always tell on themselves.

I thought Keira Bell was bisexual? She did say her same-sex attraction was one of the reasons for her transition though, but yeah. Hardly anyone ever mentions that.

I wonder how all the gender ideologues are going to try and weasel their way out of supporting this and harassing women and gay people standing up to this.

With time, they'll erase this history just like they have others.

"We have always been against sex reassignment surgery."

I truly despise these homophobic child abusers with every cell in my body. May they rot in hell.

Bristow said he was one of several gay members of staff at the clinic who felt concerned that patients’ homosexuality — and the possibility that gay children were saying they wanted to change sex because they were being bullied — was ignored. He told staff at the Tavistock clinic that they were doing “conversion therapy for gay kids”.

Who could have seen this coming?

Literally everyone with any sense. There's going to come a point where the former staff all bunch together publicly and speak out, plus a few of the current.

Way late to the party, but just saw this headline the other day for the first time. It's simultaneously heartening to see this finally hit mainstream media, and enraging to think about how many people are still going to gaslight LGB people and deny that it ever happens.

Very proud of all the LGB clinicians/staff who tried to speak up and then got their communications in writing with the exit interviews. It's nice knowing there are more people like us who are out there trying to sound the alarm... in spite of the constant message from TQ-dominated organizations and social media that, "You are alone."
