On datings apps: highly edited close-up selfies

On social media apps: anime.

TRAs: there’s no difference between me and a biological (wo)man

Also TRAs: let me furiously edit photos of myself to look more like the opposite sex.

TRAs: no one is trying to rape anyone by not disclosing their sex!

Also TRAs: well, obviously I attempt to hide my sex until the clothes come off because they wouldn’t consent otherwise.

Also add that they think it's not rape if the consent is given first before the clothes come off. No takesies backsies uwu!

Consent is kinda transphobic tbh 😩

Sexual autonomy is a product of whiteness and colonialism and capitalism and the alt-right 😔😔😔😔😔😔

I once got banned from a discord server because one of the MTF mods had a really creepy, over-filtered monochrome selfie as a profile pic. This was a couple years back where I was in a very bad mental state and it was enough to make me uncomfortable seeing it pop up all the time, seriously it was like something out of a horror movie and honestly I thought that was the intent/that this user was being edgy.

So I asked politely that it was changed and explained that it was kind of uncanny. MTF mod proceeds to have an e-tantrum complete with crytyping acting like I'm being deliberately offensive, whines about me being "transphobic", and bans me.

It's funny because I posted a pic of myself in that same server before and everyone bitched about how I looked "fake" "like a doll" and accused me of editing in a really rude way.

The good news is that most people who edit/overfilter their selfies are not very good at it, you can usually tell when someone's airbrushed their skin to the uncanny valley or it's the snapchat big eye filter.

The bad news is that some filters are getting better and better at replicating, such as some of those ones who do "gender swap" filters. They're not perfect but you could definitely be fooled at a glance or if you're not looking closely. I think I remember a video of a guy with a convincing "girl filter" on, then it zooms out and reveals he's a dude.

Trans or not you should never hide your appearance. You need to find someone who appreciates you for how you really are and if you avoid that you're asking for trouble.

Lizard, I know you hate gay guys but I love you anyway.

Their feelings matters - your (and, well, ours) - don't.

Passing trans people are like unicorns.

They don't exist, and the closest we can get is playing dress up with a horse.

I have failed to notice a trans man before. With trans women though, there's almost always something that gives it away.

I remember meeting a trans woman friend of a friend in a nightclub. After a few minutes, I whispered to my friend, "So, Margot used to be a man, right?" He answered, "Yes, but don't mention that you noticed." Margot was just a bit too tall, and the shoulders were too wide, plus the facial bone structure. I got to know Margot better, and she eventually told us that she regretted transitioning, especially the genital surgery, but she felt resigned to having to live with it.

I think that the same thing is responsible for both, oddly enough. Namely testosterone. The changes in appearance that it creates are dramatic-- whether naturally via male puberty (for trans women), or artificially via "gender-affirming" medical intervention (for trans men).

Estrogen and Testosterone are both such interesting, powerful, and psychologically influential hormones, I will never understand why someone would want to nuke their body with both.

That's really sad. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, even the TRA loons.

Sorry to say, trans folk, if you know that the person you've been having intercourse with would not have engaged in said intercourse if you clarified you were trans, you have raped them by deception.

I don't think that happens very often. I'm a gay man and even I can tell the difference between a neovagina and a real vagina. Don't even get me started on phalloplasty.

I once got curious and looked up before and after pictures of sex change surgery. I'm sure there are a lot of botched ones and I was looking at surgery websites that obviously don't want to show bad jobs. Gore doesn't really bother me, though the right after surgery images could definitely be disturbing if that's something that gets to you. In the images after the surgery healed, the neovaginas somehow looked more convincing to me than the neopenises. I guess that's probably because it's somewhat covered, though. It's not like they're zooming in and spreading open for the photo. Maybe that's why the neopenises were much more off-putting for me. I think too, though, that it's because of how overly large all the neopenises looked along with the skin being so unnaturally smooth. If the "vaginas" were that prominent, the uncanniness would probably be harder to ignore. I thought the "penises" looked so incredibly unnatural, and all so similar. Natural genitals are kinda weird looking, but there's a beauty in that they're all unique. It's very sad that people feel the need to try and literally cookie cutter themselves into what they feel pressured to be. Into an exaggerated caricature of what they think a man or woman is supposed to be. And there's all this talk of supposedly abolishing gender roles as they're actually becoming stricter. It's like we're stepping back in time to the suffocating social norms of the past and pretending we aren't.

Yep. Tinder trans always use 50 filters and still never pass. You'd think they'd use the time they spend doctoring their photos to shave their facial hair instead, might be a bit more helpful to pass as women.

Yup. Said the exact same thing regarding rape on a thread similar to this not too long ago. Not only are these types of trans people rape advocates, they're huge fans of catfishing. Lying is the only way they can ever hope to get laid, and since they tie their self worth to being fuckable, they spend most of their time lying.

What kills me is that I second guess people who interest me on dating apps. If I spot a nice looking woman (not super filtered) but she's got a slightly stronger jaw, I worry she might be trans, so I swipe left, but it could have just been a woman with a strong jaw. I don't want to waste my time or divulge any information to this person or meet up with them if it turns out they are a transbian, but it's sometimes hard to tell over pictures alone.
