A lot of these people remind me of little kids waiting for Santa Claus to bring them ridiculous gifts. My friend literally thought one year that Santa was going to bring her a basket full of puppies. Not just one puppy, but an entire basket full. Anytime anyone tried to tell her that Santa doesn't do that, especially not for someone that lives in a tiny inner city shithole apartment, she lost her shit and started crying and screaming and fighting. Some kids think Santa will bring them piles of money or gold, or magical items, or whatever, and I really blame the parents for not setting up the parameters. Santa will bring you something that costs less than $___ and is sold at K-mart. But at a certain point, when you're dealing with a delusional child who is OMG FUCKING CONVINCED about the puppies, what can you do except sit back and watch them crash and burn?

It's amazing to see adults who haven't matured from this mentality. They wishes override all logic and reason and they don't want to hear the truth. This guy probably had a fantasy that removing his testicles would be a magical experience towards his female journey, and completely blocked out and discarded everything his doctor said that didn't correspond to his fantasy. A lot of trans people are like this, unfortunately. That's why it's so incredibly cruel to trans children. These kids seriously believe that they are going to look indistinguishable from the opposite sex in the future. By the time they realize it was a scam, it's much too late, and the changes are permanent.

I just can't put my head in that delusional space where I could ignore the direct consequences of such a major decision. The fact that testicles and ovaries are greatly important for the production of sexual hormones is a basic piece of information about human anatomy, and the fact that testosterone is important for sex drive and sexual performance is even more basic. It's like cutting the batteries out of your phone because you want to turn it into a brick and then crying that you can't make phone calls anymore.

You know how they have 'informed consent'? I feel like after they've been informed, they need to take a sort of oral exam with a panel of experts in which they are required to explain step-by-step in great detail what they believe will happen to them after each procedure, all the possible side effects, complications and everything. Only if they pass the test with 100%, should they be allowed to have the procedure.

I know it's horrible to say but I'm glad (the adults) are taken out of the gene-pool through these procedures. But unfortunately, too many of them have kids and fuck them up before deciding to go trans.

I feel so bad for the kids who don't understand that these procedures will make them unable to have kids in the future. (Not that I think having a kid is any sort of prize, but people shouldn't have that option stolen away from them and have to live with the knowledge that it was their own fault for buying into the trans bullshit at such a young age.)

Such things are not discussed in most cases. Some things even very grown up who are taking serious researches do not knowing - like Blaire White did not know some things, and even detransitioned temporarily to father a child, but it was impossible as his sperm became sterile, and he had no idea that it will happen. And you are asking if young men know such things - of course they not, and organisations like Mermaids, Stonewall and in general whole internet is all set on affirming and saying "it is like real one, it is reversable!" and so on.

This is such an important website and needs to become better known to catalogue and combat the myth that sex reassignment surgeries are stunning and brave success stories. Some of them. The ones who are amazed at the side effects like nerve damage and the lengthy recovery. Breast removal is major surgery and comes with side effects, some of them severe. So many transgender people think you can play mr. potatohead with their own body and have no consequences.

So...they had an orchiectomy but aren't taking supplemental estrogen or testosterone? I'm sort of baffled by that and this persons' seeming ignorance about the procedure they've had and what the side effects of it would be. Didn't their doctor explain all of this? And why didn't the doctor put them on HRT, knowing they can no longer produce their own hormones? Of course it's hard to feel much sympathy here because of their attempts to place blame on their girlfriend.
