"The best case scenario is the LGB side of the community loses patience with them and drops them long before the mainstream does" I think we're at the point where more of us have than haven't, yet the mainstream still continues to lump us all together, when the issue is always the TQ. I'm not in the UK but I doubt it's the LGB folks who are having a meltdown over this, yet always reported "LGBTQ". We're at the point where an individual is rarely recognized in the media as "a lesbian", "a gay man" it's "a LGBTQ person". "Normies" think LGBT(etc. etc) is just "one big happy family". Meanwhile how many of us same sex attracted folks even feel remotely welcome muchless represented in "the community" these days?

"Women wear jeans and t shirts, women don't have to wear makeup..." Before I realized how bad this ideology is, I figured he would be in for quite a rude awakening when he hit the real world (he was about 20 years old). Congratulations--I know this was a very difficult move to make and you may be in for a few days-weeks of hurting and grieving, but there is another side. The other side is a happier and stronger you. And eventually you will meet a more compatible partner that can be an active participant in a relationship with you.

She may also be a narcissist, have borderline personality disorder, or maybe untreated bipolar. It does hurt to leave someone you love, but it's not healthy.....I've left a narcissist too and it hurt at the time but on the other side of it is much higher self worth and, eventually, a more compatible partner. It also hurts to be in this dynamic, and--do you really want to be in this cycle for years, decades on end? Now you've got the gender stuff on top of it. How long before you get declared a "terf" in your friends circle if you show any signs less than doing backflips over each announcement?

Sounds like she runs the relationship with her fluctuating moods. This puts her always in control, and it doesn't feel equal...and it sounds like this has been going on since before the non binary announcement. It doesn't sound like the relationship is compatable or happy to begin with, and going forward it will continue to be this or worse. Every time you slip with "she" "It's THEY!!" and pulling back for another week or two. Meanwhile what's happening to your self worth? You can care about someone and even love someone and it doesn't mean it is the right partner for you. You deserve better. Sounds like you've already been conditioned by a narcissist in the past. The cycle just goes round and round until you get off it.

People fear of being labelled transphobic. But how do we determine which is transphobic and which is not? by joy1090 in GenderCritical

I've considered myself "progressive" for years but the last few months have really shown me how scary what is actually going on with the far left--it is getting culturally authoritarian. I still consider myself part of the left in general, but I don't agree that trans activism, homophobia, misogyny, cancel culture, deplatforming, burning books, and political violence to be progressive. Also the bullshit that anyone who questions the narrative trans activism (and I'm starting to see a few other issues) must be "right wing" is terrifying too

Part of it is being here, and elsewhere. I really think that part of the mass purge on reddit wasn't entirely unrelated to JKR's comments. Those being introduced to this and some who read her work and saw the responses eyes were starting to be open and some would seek out more information on our position. Couldn't possibly have a 65K and growing forum on a platform as big as reddit, as well as all the related subs, that could possibly peak more people. I know the average joe (and our other 60K former members) doesn't know saidit, spinster, etc. as well as reddit and twitter at this point, but our arguments need to still be out there. If TRA voices are the only ones heard, a lot of people don't think critically beyond that.

I tried to tell one of my straight best friends about the phenomenon and all the crap that was happening on reddit around last fall sometime. She's been roped in by her tech company into doing the "gender diversity trainings" at her job (aka they're using her hyper codependent niceness and makes a great handmaiden, apparently has a female "they" boss who she has to go around reminding everyone this boss is a "they"). Her response? "Oh, you should just get to know more trans people!" and "Reddit is male dominated" (she's never had a reddit account)---I was like "yeah, you are so close to getting it". She then told me about one of her acquaintances who is a "queer woman" who has a partner that went full on mastectomy, phalloplasty, etc' "No one would EVER do that if they weren't born in the wrong body". I haven't raised the subject since. I also have several other friends/aquintances that just form what they've been posting about JKR on Facebook knowing that my even attempting to say anything would just get me unfriended and banished for "terfiness"

It's narcissistic parenting. I had the unfortunate experience of being raised by a narcissist (fortunately I was born decades before this trend), and so much of this is textbook, just now channeled into the kid being "trans" (it could be channeled into the kid being an academic genius, sports star, child actor, something else marketable.....but this is a new superspecial woke way of exploitation for a new generation)

A researcher has found that of the 16 moderators of Reddit's sub for lesbians, 11 of them were biologically male transwomen. The forum has now been closed down because too many women on there only wanted to date other biological women, and this was considered 'transphobic' by Tarrock in MeanwhileOnReddit

[–]SpatOuttheKoolaid 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Unfortunately your comment was a "poe's law" situation because trans rights activists are screaming about "feminine penises"/girldick/shenis/whatever they're calling it this week. This is how absurd this situation has become. And reddit banned the lesbians for standing up against it. It's that insane! When I first read your comment it really looked like a 50/50 sarcasm or TRA argument.

I have always considered myself a progressive until the last few weeks. I still consider myself part of the left, but this past month has really made me open my eyes to the left, really really made me look at cancel culture, and I've been noticing more and more mysogyny in the left as I've been on my peak trans journey over the last couple of years. I never thought I wouldn't say I was a progressive, but I can't see TRA stuff, "sex work" stuff, cancel culture, political violence, book burning, censorship as remotely progressive. I will never be on the right but my eyes are deeply open. The more I open my eyes the more "politically homeless" I feel as a lesbian. We wouldn't even be able to physically gather in a group (as we an here) in a liberal city--rather that be in a "terf meeting" or an old fashioned lesbian bar... without being violently attacked by the left, and that's terrifying

Kids are being indoctrinated into this online and in schools, trans classmates in pre-school, etc. There's a phenomenon the last few years of "rapid onset gender dysphoria" mostly among groups of girls where a lot of kids come out as trans, etc. all at once

And after she took the stand, all the subreddits got banned. Can't have people actually going to reddit to read our arguments, god forbid--they're too logical. God forbid people actually listen to well-informed women, listen to LGB people with concerns, listen to de-transitioners, or.....think critically.

Meanwhile, r/actualwomen....deemed another "hate group" and cancelled. I'm so thankful that JKR is standing up--she's got a wide platform, "fuck you" money, and is in an industry that she can't be blacklisted from ever working again. As depressing as the backlash has been, there's also a lot of comments across platforms in support of her and more are peaking every day. I'm so thankful we have online communities, still, to gather, but the real world is very depressing when trying to find other lesbians (maybe even more so for those of us who live in liberal cities)

Sadly, the only thing that surprises me about this is the fact that sub has still been there (I figured because it was so small) Any women's space (and especially "feminist") space remaining on reddit will be run by men for men, allowing useful libfems.
