I haven't slept well, so maybe I had a nightmare, but I think one of the comments said "some gay men are jealous of trans-men for having a self-lubricating hole".

a) Is it? b) Do they? c) Is it really?? d) someone please hold me

Shh, it's okay. You're in LGBdroptheT, you're safe now.

Good lord the comments lol, it's like gay has lost all of its meaning. "A lot of gay guys have a preference towards dick". "Some gay guys don't like vagina". When the fuck did being gay become something you identify as?

I think a lot of bi guys simping for the TRA's will be like "I'm attracted to men and women but I iDenTiFy As A gAy MaN" - and that's used as evidence that gay guys will have sex with females.

[–]Kai_Decadence 28 insightful - 1 fun28 insightful - 0 fun29 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

No you're absolutely right about that. It's because of these fucking bisexual men who call themselves "gay" yet go for trans-identified women ("Transmen") is what is making it sound like gay really is jut as "preference for dick". It's the same with bisexual women larping as Lesbians and getting with these trans-identified men ("Transwomen") and still claiming they are penis loving lesbians. It's fucking stupid and I know that not all bisexuals are gross fakers but these lot definitely give them a bad reputation...

But "gay" gives more Queer Oppression Points™️ than "bisexual" does. What, would you want for them to miss out on all the extra asspats from reddit and tumblr? You monster.

While I don't know for a fact that bi people are part of this (i.e., siege warfare on homosexual identity), it does seem sadly plausible. Which just adds to my distress. I feel guilty by association (yeah, I know you aren't saying that we're all culpable here; just my emotional response).

That said, I want to bring up a possible factor which may not be apparent to LG people: bi invisibility/erasure means that many of us legit don't even realize that we're bi. Either we believe (per common wisdom) there is no such thing, or that only 50/50 counts, or it's just "open-mindedness"/"hearts not parts"... whatever: the unifying theme is that bisexuality is not understood as a sexual orientation. So we're prone to identifying with one of the acknowledged sexual orientations... and sometimes, that's homosexuality. Which may, regrettably, result in this dangerous "gay men can TOTES be into pussy!" falsehood.

Of course it'd be best for us bi people if our sexuality were accepted as a bona fide orientation... what's becoming increasingly clear is that it's best for GAY people, too.

[–]Kai_Decadence 13 insightful - 1 fun13 insightful - 0 fun14 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

I'm sorry but there's just no way around this harsh truth that it's the bisexual people who are causing this. Because bisexuals are the ones who can be attracted to both genitals. I'll just say this though, it's the ones who are calling themselves "pansexual" that are the most guilty of this. Pansexuality is just a fancy, attention-seeking way of saying bisexual and these "I don't care about the genitals" thing, that's a bisexual thing. Genitals do matter to homosexual and heterosexual while it wouldn't be as much a deal to bisexual people and they essentially can genuinely prefer one or the other while we gays and heteros don't.

And yes I'm aware that bisexual people can go their whole formulate years and early adulthood not thinking they are bi until something triggers it, I'm very aware of that for sure.

[–]TurtleChaos 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I don't think it's just bisexual people who say things like "genitals don't matter" on the internet for clout. I think there are also a lot of sexually inexperienced people who don't yet realize that, indeed, one of the two sexes is in fact incompatible with their orientation. A virgin might not be able to comprehend that no matter how much you like someone, you won't have the capacity to be sexually attracted to them if they aren't the correct sex. Add to that the fact that you can easily say online that you're open to fucking both sexes for woke points, and then only ever fuck just one of them irl, of course.

Before coming to terms with my (homo)sexuality I spouted the same inane "pansexual" mantra, I guess just trying to convince myself that it was true? That I could just "not care" that someone had a dick? I certainly can't have been the only closeted person trying desperately to be bi because I thought it wasn't as "bad" as being homosexual.

[–]Kai_Decadence 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I think there are also a lot of sexually inexperienced people who don't yet realize that

You know I think you may be right on this one. Something I noticed with some of these people is that a lot of them are like under the age of 19 or are in their early 20s. This reminds me of how when some of these kids would call themselves Asexual and you're just like "Dude, you're like 14-15, how would you know?" I used to follow these two fashion bloggers who were 17 and they would talk about how they were asexual. I was a little older at the time (I think 21, I just liked their fashion lol) but as soon as they got a little older, they stopped calling themselves "Asexual, one of them even made a video explaining the situation and how she learned she was Bisexual (She actually said "Pansexual"... lol). So I can see where you're coming from there and I actually agree.

I think this is actually more common than some realize.

Thanks so much for saying all this! I wanted to write something along these lines, but kept worrying that I'd just come off as a bi person in denial. Made it impossible to think clearly. Really appreciate hearing from a gay person whose capacity for clear thought is demonstrably uncompromised! (And gave me the through-line that I so sorely needed.)

I'm quoting you in my reply to Kai Decadence, so please look there for more :)

As the other commentator responding to this has already observed:

I don't think it's just bisexual people who say things like "genitals don't matter" on the internet for clout.

I don't, either! Emphasis on just (since there's no doubt that we're among the guilty here; it's just that we're far from alone). Because this trans-propaganda lie is WAAAY too widespread to be coming solely from bisexuals-- there just ain't that many of us! It's got plenty of gay and straight advocates. (In fact, TRA-ing against the right to be exclusively same-sex attracted often seems like something of a heterosexual-woman specialty.) Some in cynical pursuit of woke points, some just going-along-to-get-along, some mindlessly conforming, some trying to ward off cancellation... and some true believers. Who are trying to convince themselves that they're not really monosexual in the name of political correctness.

Additionally, may I just point out that "genitals don't matter" is NOT something we bi people even believe? They absolutely do matter to us! Same as for gay and straight people; we're like a combo here, in effect-- attracted to those of BOTH sexes. And that's key: attracted to. NOT "sexually-indiscriminate, so who even cares what's down there, we make no distinction and are just like, 'whatever!'" What distinguishes us from monosexuals isn't that we're somehow not specifically attracted to biological sex (like you, we are); it's that we're not specifically UNattracted to ONE biological sex. To think otherwise is to misunderstand us, and treat bisexuality as though it doesn't even qualify as a sexual orientation.

Moreover, this kind of "genitals don't matter" thinking can actually be dangerous to us. It fuels the all-too-common misconception that we're without sexual boundaries: totally unselective-- anyone will do. Meaning that we don't get to say "no". Can't rule anyone out; HAVE to rule everyone in. Which makes us vulnerable to sexual predation, now including by "trans" (bi = no excuse for refusing "girldick"/"boipussy"). Seems likely that at least some bi advocates of "genitals don't matter" have internalized this, and are indoctrinating others with what they fail to recognize as their own victimization.

Add to that the fact that you can easily say online that you're open to fucking both sexes for woke points, and then only ever fuck just one of them irl, of course.

THIS. After all, words are cheap, and that goes double for the internet variety. And when there's pressure (especially the ultra-aggressive TRA/cancel-culture kind) to use ones like "genitals don't matter!"/"hearts not parts!"/"genital fetishism"... a lot of gay and straight people will.

I'm not saying that we bi people can't be shitty (god knows), or even have an actual penchant for some types of shittiness... but, as the only non-monosexual orientation, we're prone to a certain amount of stigma. Gay and straight people often don't understand us, and disapprove of or even dismiss us for not fitting into their framework; we suffer as a result. Whatever advantages we have relative to LG people (and we do), don't forget that we have disadvantages as well. So, when attributing blame to us bi people, please just try to keep these things in mind, OK? :)

TL;DR: bi people aren't the only ones pushing "genitals don't matter", and it's not true for them, either (as well as a source of biphobia). Also, indicating that it IS just bi people doing this can play into existing stigmatization.

To the TRA gay has lost all meaning, and it’s only going to get worse until it finally gets better (when the TRA get bored and find some other fucked up thing to occupy their time or they settle down into their reverse hetero lives). Gay is an “umbrella term” but when convenient to them also means “homosexual with an exception.“ Gays, lesbians, bi people, asexuals, demi this or that, some bastardized latin/greek words, they all fit under gay. Except exclusively homosexual men, just like exclusively homosexual women don’t get to be lesbians in the TRA clown world.

Um.. yeah no, I've seen gay men who like trans mens' genitalia pre-op

Gay men..

Exclusively homosexual men can absolutely be attracted to trans mens' genitalia. Not all gay men are obsessed with dick

Exclusively homosexual men can absolutely be attracted to the opposite sex

Can someone just shoot me

Under their definition a bisexual man can be completely homosexual “cis and trans men” so I’m not surprised they’re this delusional.

Sorry guys, but your pathetic little ''genital preference'' has gone too far and is now an ''obsession'' :) Why can't you learn from trans people, who are well known for looking past such irrelevancies as physical appearance and anatomy?

Same shit. Reducing female genitalia to an hole (yeah, the outside vulva and clit doesn't matter, only the only for men to rub themselves matter) and comparing a literal procreative organ which expand twice and over its origical size in excitement and self-lubrificate to an orifice from intestine waste expulsion. Not understanding that the basis of sexual orientation is a total lack of attraction or a pure aversion for interacting with opposite sexual organs. Also, a woman who takes testosterone won't even self-lubrificate. Might also say how a transman is really envious of a man having a real reproductive male organ, not a piace of plastic pretending to be something else.

[–]chandra 19 insightful - 1 fun19 insightful - 0 fun20 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

What catches my attention is that even the seemingly reasonable ones still specify that most gay men don't want a pre-op trans man. In these debates about trans dating and 'genital preference,' it seems like even those seemingly reasonable trans people that accept genital preference still assume that a preference for vagina includes a vaginoplasty, and a preference for penis includes phalloplasty/metoidioplasty.

I think many of those seemingly reasonable trans people would also become indignant at the truth that most gay men don't even want a trans man with a crude fake dick.

[–]ks00 13 insightful - 2 fun13 insightful - 1 fun14 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Yep it's pretty ridiculous if they think that gay men of all people can't tell the difference between a real penis and a constructed "penis".

[–]ks00 16 insightful - 1 fun16 insightful - 0 fun17 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It's so funny that truscum pretend to be oh so virtuous but end up saying the same old shit but maybe dressed up a little better. Gay men do not have a "genital preference". We're attracted to men and a penis is a primary male sex characteristic.

It's so obvious that they don't have a clue.

They do. They have to shave it.

And in case you’re curious, trans women with ballginas have to shave the insides because they use the foreskin as the interiors of their new "vaginas". Foreskins grow hair.

Automoderator can eat orangutan ass. Posting this again:

Foreskins grow hair.

You wot. Certainly not mine and all the other foreskins I've seen.

The reason men-to-trans grow hair inside their neowounds is because the Dr. Frankensteins use all the skin from the penis, including the base (which does grow hair).

Why a gay man would want to fuck a vagina? What's the functional difference between that and fucking a cis chick?

I mean, a trans guy who is post t and top op but not bottom op usually looks just like a cis dude who doesn't have a dick. And PiV is generally easier and less painful than anal.

Well, now we have the answer for all those gay men who live in homophobic societies and are pressured to marry women. Just get yourself a flatchested girl with a short haircut!

I mean, they're less delusional than tucutes, sure, but they're still stuck to that "secondary characteristics" argument. Aren't they aware that androgynous cis men and women exist? Can gay men feel attracted to feminine cis gay men in their universe?

Not to mention how homophobic it is to literally go and imply that straight sex is better than anal gay sex lol
