Instantly clockable male, a straight one as well! Y'know, just fucking lesbians over again.

"The lesbian I've always wanted to be."

Yeah, definitely not fetishistic or creepy. Fuck's sake.

EDIT: Words.

[–]BigMommyMilkersYes, they're real 43 insightful - 26 fun43 insightful - 25 fun44 insightful - 26 fun -  (2 children)

Do you think being horrendously unattractive is a requirement for being a "trans lesbian"?

[–]3MistersAndAMissy 8 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Only if it is accompanied by a massive sense of entitlement and victimhood.

Anyone else weirded out by the "step on me" and "slice me in half" comments?

Those have always made me uncomfortable, even when I used to be more in the TRA camp.

Yeah that sums it up so perfectly, the entire thread is just blokes role playing.

Yeaaaaa. 😳 I don’t know any woman who talks like that. And they always comment that in response to innocuous photos of women with masculine or tomboy vibes. It’s because they’re fetishistic men who associate being female and/or feminine with being submissive and masochistic, so in their minds, this is the best way they can communicate they’re real women (or “cute girls” 🤮). They also believe in masculine vs feminine roles in a relationship so they’re trying to act out the feminine role whereas the sword lesbian is acting out the masculine role in their (and probably his) minds.

I suspect that the top/bottom dichotomy was introduced by them in lesbian communities. I HATE that. We're not like gay boys! 95% of lesbians I know are versatile!

Yep they’re the biggest perpetuators of it. You see it all over YouTube comments now with anime avatars. I don’t hear Millennials my age talk like this IRL. It’s all over the genderfucked r/LBL subreddit though.

They also keep changing what top and bottom mean. Even they can’t decide.

10 years ago this guy would've just been called emo, or hipster.

[–][deleted] 14 insightful - 4 fun14 insightful - 3 fun15 insightful - 4 fun -  (5 children)

Emo is a music genre Emotive Hardcore, so he'd just be a hipster lol.

[–]GoValidateYourselfuseful lesbian 19 insightful - 5 fun19 insightful - 4 fun20 insightful - 5 fun -  (0 children)

LOL I know. Trans and "nonbinary" fashion is literally just hipster fashion, with extra smugness sprinkled on top.

[–]emptiedriver 14 insightful - 1 fun14 insightful - 0 fun15 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

people hanging around the music often got called by the names of the music genres - it was punk, goth, then emo, to describe the more artistic/ costumey fashions...

These days, you don't need the music first to create a community bc you can meet online. Back then meeting at concerts, clubs or record stores was the hub of social life, so the only place to show off your fashions was going out to a show.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

That's true, but I don't think anyone can be a music genre imo lol. Even people that like Goth rock and Emotive Hardcore say it's about the music.

[–]emptiedriver 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Right, and nowadays people say it's about their gender identity. The point is, people find ways to express various desires to be different, and it can shift with cultural trends. If you look at the big picture, somehow there are less people with a fundamental need to focus on music and more people with a serious gender crisis 20 years later, but otherwise they're behaving just the same.

Maybe they just think it's about the music - or the gender.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

You're correct: for them it's about the gender (now days)

So, basically, a teenage boy with niche interests got bullied so hard that he has to use a trans identity as a shield and a crutch. He can't get picked on by boys (to his face) because he's a "girl" now, and he can't be picked on by girls (to his face) because he's a fragile trans butterfly. This is terrible and I hope he finds a more supportive environment to grow in.

I find it ironic that there can be trans only spaces but no women/lesbian/female spaces. Seems not at all suspect.

Uh, is a "sword lesbian" a thing? We don't have "gun gays" or anything like that, just boys that whine about being unattractive

[–]reluctant_commenter 23 insightful - 3 fun23 insightful - 2 fun24 insightful - 3 fun -  (3 children)

According to the "queer community" on Tumblr... and I've actually heard young "queer people" talk about it IRL in college, believe it or not. "Sword lesbian" is a thing in the same way that "bisexuals and lemon bars, uwu" is a thing. That is, a bunch of kids making up a trope and calling it a "gay thing" in order to have something to bond over. Like Buzzfeed quizzes: "Are you a sword lesbian, or a shield lesbian?"

If you're looking for a kernal of logic, it is possible that meme came from the fact that villains in stories are sometimes gender-nonconforming and seem like they might be LGB.

[–]yousaythosethingsFind and Replace "gatekeeping" with "having boundaries" 17 insightful - 6 fun17 insightful - 5 fun18 insightful - 6 fun -  (2 children)

And this is where I check the age cut off for gen Z so that I set the floor of my dating pool accordingly. You have it rough dude. The genderists I know are at least actually gay and not hooking up with trans people. It’s more like they’ve been alive long enough so that they’ve been slurred, closeted, outted, and shamed and so their hearts are very open. We grew up at a time where we had to discover ourselves in darkness alone during our formative years. Gen Z brings the darkness. Wait sounds like I’m talking about White Walkers now. . . .

I appreciate the recognition, lol. Yeahhh, every time I meet a "queer" identified person, I just don't know. Sometines it does actually mean they are gay/bisexual? But often not?

We grew up at a time where we had to discover ourselves in darkness alone during our formative years.

Very funny you say that, because I feel like that is what I am going through right now. Well, with the support of one or two IRL friends and this community, I guess. :) But it is almost like I am doubly in the closet, once for traditional homophobia and once for woke homophobia. Or at least that's how it feels like. I don't want to sound melodramatic, but I do feel alone and isolated in this (double) regard.

Wait sounds like I’m talking about White Walkers now. . . .

Hahaha, well, maybe you're not wrong, I mean there does seem to be a lot of white people trying to claim oppression through a trans identification...

The comments all so excited over "sword lesbians" are just bizarre. The phrase itself sounds like a joke, not like something a woman would say, both because it's just silly and due to it presumably having some kind of specific role assignment thing going on... I don't think that is common for lesbians, it wasn't in my experience, and it's never come up in conversations with women I've talked to.

I guess everything could be different now, but - all the same "sword lesbians" sure sounds dumb. Definitely not something meaningful to who you actually are, but something you are playing a game about being for some kicks

He's not even wearing make up or anything. This is just a straight man declaring himself a woman (who's still into girls tho, of course - he's a woman but he doesn't want to be gaaaayyyy). And a bunch of other straight men applauding him for it. "Bravo!" "That's how you do it!" "Go show those women we, men, can decide to be women whenever we say so!" "Yeah, we don't even need to dress in drag or anything!"
