This is incredible - it sounds like Shapiro is reading here and Ovarit.com. Conservative men are becoming TERFS!

I stole this link from s/LGBdroptheT - check that sub out to see LGB who are OVER the TQ+

Increasingly that seems to be the case. They may only be doing it to own the liberals and win elections... but hey, they're literally quoting GC talking points. I'll take the win.

Crazy, isn't it? I now have to add Ben Fucking Shapiro to the list of People Who I'd Never In A Billion Years Agree With But Am

Rand Paul

Piers Morgan

Ted Cruz

That crazy congresswoman from Georgia Greene

Tucker Carlson

Ben Shapiro

The Democrats really blew this...

I think they really do believe that the gender ideology is harmful. But I suspect there may be a deeper political motivation behind it. They have to know that plenty of people on the left don't agree with this crap. It's such an easy issue to pull away voters from the Democrats. At this point, though, I'm fine with it if that's what they're doing. The Democrats should suffer politically for advocating for genital mutilation, child sterilization, and the removal of women's rights. If they didn't know that's what they were doing, then they're grossly incompetent and don't deserve my vote anyway.

[–]BEB[S] 10 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 0 fun11 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Your last sentence is kind of the way I feel, even though on issues like healthcare, the environment, etc., I much prefer the Democrats.

The Democrats who know what's in the Equality Act and support it are psychopaths. The Democrats who don't know what's in the Equality Act and support it are too stupid and/or lazy for the office.

[–]SpatOuttheKoolaid 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (10 children)

I can't believe it either. But there's a lot I can't freaking believe is reality these days! Yes the Dems really have blown it. This is more of a "people who can think critically and actually look at the evidence" than a left vs. right thing. A lot of my woke libfem friends are astounded people on the left aren't supporting this!

[–]BEB[S] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (9 children)

Your woke libfem friends are astounded that people on the left aren't supporting what?

The hook line and sinker of trans ideology, the "equality act", bathrooms, sports, locker rooms. Full on literal believers in "TWAW"

Can you perhaps mention to them that according to an often-cited survey done by the National Center for Transgender Equality, a trans advocacy group, close to 90% of their beloved TiMs keep their male genitalia and around 63% are attracted to women?

But tell them it's not just TiMs who will be allowed into women's space, but ANY man. So that creep who's stalking them, the scary Tinder date, their abusive ex? Well, they can all saunter in to spaces where these WOKE women are isolated and possibly naked.

And the Equality Act means that not just one man can access spaces where women are vulnerable, but groups of men.

Maybe show them some of the sicker TiM sub Reddits or forums?

But what I tell uber-WOKE women in denial, like your friends, is (to use their words) "Consent is not transferable," so if they're comfortable with penises in their spaces they can go use male spaces.

Can you perhaps mention to them that according to an often-cited survey done by the National Center for Transgender Equality, a trans advocacy group, close to 90% of their beloved TiMs keep their male genitalia and around 63% are attracted to women?

Do you have a link for that? That might be useful for future arguments.

[–]BEB[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

It's the National Center for Transgender Equality 2015 survey. It's available online. It's kind of discredited because of the methodology, however, trans activists cherry pick the numbers from it whenever those numbers support their arguments. This might be the link:

http://www.ustranssurvey.org/

There's another NIH study (IIRC) that had an even higher rate of TiMs who kept their male genitalia; I saw it in an article, but when I clicked on the link the study was gone. Fancy that - the National Institute of Health doesn't want us to know the % of TiMs who keep their dicks...

Another source is this article that appeared in the journal Translational Andrology and Urology in June 2019:

Genital GCS is generally less common than chest surgery, with prevalence rates of ... **5–10% for transgender women (7,9,32). For transgender women, genital GCS comprises a number of procedures, including vaginoplasty (most commonly intestinal or penile inversion) with labiaplasty and/or clitoroplasty, penectomy, and orchiectomy. Transgender women report bottom surgery at rates between 5–13% (7-9,32).

[–]MarkTwainiac 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

There are multiple papers reporting a very low rate of genital surgeries in TIMs. This report from the US journal Transgender Health in 2016 showed that out of the 234 TIMs studied and considered to be representative of the population of "TW" in the US overall, only 11 - or 4.7% - had undergone genital surgery.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5012371/

A much higher percentage of TIMs will tell pollsters, online surveys and HCPs that they intend to get genital surgeries at some point down the line, but they rarely actually do so. Even males who are basically "professionally trans" and base their entire lives and livelihoods around claiming to be women, such as Gigi Gorgeous and Blaire White, usually end up deciding not to get genital surgeries. In fact, Gorgeous and White have made videos saying they see the results of such surgeries as repulsive in appearance, smell and function.

TIMS tend to be very much into their dicks, which is why they are trying to simply rebrand them by pushing for normalization and widespread acceptance of the ridiculous concept of "the female penis" and "girl dick."

Yeah the weirdest part of 2020 for me wasn't the pandemic... it was finding out that I agree with all the people you listed above. I never thought I'd see a new Tucker Carlson or Ben Shapiro video and go "ooh! something to listen to during lunch" 😂 This is truly Black Mirror shit.

[–]BEB[S] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

And I even forgot NIKKI HALEY on that list.

The Democrats must be getting gonzo $$$ from the zillionaire autogynephiles, Big Pharma and Big Medicine to commit suicide so spectacularly.

That crazy congresswoman from Georgia Greene

D: MTG is from my state!?!? At least she still knows there are only two sexes.

[–]BEB[S] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It so weird that now after we mention something crazy a Right wing politician says we have to add, "At least she still knows there are only two sexes."

Not that I think that Left wing politicians are always models of sanity, the Transwomen Are Women being a case in point.

Ben Shapiro and Piers Morgan are seriously pulling heavy weight with the gender stuff at the moment. I have to be thankful for them, a few years ago men had been very quiet about the issue, now I feel like we’re watching them pick a side.

I’ve noticed in the case of trans kids it’s always the dads who are reluctant. I’ve never seen a man driven to trans their child. It’s nearly always women who are driving this on a ground level. And I feel like those individuals we can reach more than the doctors and the shrinks that are perpetuating this.

Men don’t fold to social pressure about “right things” as much as women are inclined to, I’m putting a lot of bank on that now because a lot of female voices are being shut down. Doctors and TRAs are not even taking seriously the surge in female detransitioners speaking out about what happened to them.

I don’t think any 21st century woman wants to ask men for help but I’m feeling like HEY this gender ideology is targeting women and children and we need bigger guns. So in that respect very good to see men doing the thing they are most excellent at and upholding some fucking structure around here lest we all completely lose our minds.

[–]jet199 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I’ve noticed in the case of trans kids it’s always the dads who are reluctant. I’ve never seen a man driven to trans their child.

That's likely because munchausens by proxy is almost always the mother rather than because women are being influenced by social pressure. It's very much as female form of abuse and control. These munchausens mothers have just found a new trend to hid their abuse behind.

[–]absoluteblasphemy 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Yes I agree, I was thinking of munchausens by proxy when I was writing this, but I believe it’s deeper than that thinking about the cases of mothers who are transing their children then “adopt” other “trans children” that aren’t being supported by their parents. Which is less visible than the women crying about how their sons are so brave for having heir genitals surgically altered but still happening and even potentially an extension of munchausens. The social phenomena has grown very complex.

[–]MarkTwainiac 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Another reason this seems to be so driven by moms is that the vast majority of child rearing, and particularly being aware of tending to the medical and psychological needs/distress of children, is still left mainly to women. Moreover, for many women with children even today being a mom is the social role they and others put the most priority on - and "being a good mom" is their main way of obtaining self-worth. Whereas for most men "bringing home the bacon" is their main social role, and their principal source of self-esteem comes from their jobs, their sexual prowess, the sports they do, and their hobbies - the job they are doing as dads, not so much.

But unlike classic Munchasen's by Proxy mothers, who seek to hoodwink medical professionals and childrearing experts, most of the mothers of "trans kids" sincerely have sought out medical and psychiatric care and expert advice for their kids - and they are only following the orders of the doctors, therapists and other "experts" they've consulted.

Whilst some women - such as the Joanna Kennedy-Olsens, Helen Webberly, Susie Green of Mermaids and Carmichael of the UK's GIDS/Tavi service for kids - have played a big role in the push to medically trans children nowadays, the fact is that most of the health care professionals who cooked up the concept of "trans children" in the first place and treat these kids are men. The very concept of "gender identity" is something men devised. And all the treatments have been pioneered by men. The "Dutch protocol" advocating puberty blockers for "gender dysphoric" children comes from Steensma, a man, and was introduced to the rest of the world by another man, Norman Spack. All the doctors who pioneered genital surgeries for "transition" were men, and even today the vast majority of surgeons who do both "top surgeries" and "bottom surgeries" are men. Big Pharma companies have a lot of female employees, particularly young good-looking women who work as sales reps, but the CEOS and "creative minds" in the industry are all men.

LOL at the podcast's title.

While I do appreciate anyone speaking up against this, I wish more left-wing people would open their eyes and speak out. Their desire to be nice and kind is going to leave a lot of vulnerable people, including children, with some potentially serious health effects. Plus the complete erosion of women's rights.

Part of it in the US is that Progressives just blindly follow the party line without examining what they're following. The hatred of Trump (who is actually not a conservative, just plays one on TV) and Republicans means that Progressives reject out of hand anything that the conservatives say, no matter how sane. And that refusal to think for themselves is a huge part of what's led to this gender nonsense.

[–]Greykittymomma 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

This was supposed to be a response to a comment but you get the idea

I dunno Tucker Carlson is an idiot, you sure they aren't trying to discredit us by putting us all together? I get comments like this constantly, making gender critical people seem more conservative. I'm libertarian or independent if I had to pick but I date a very liberal guy. I get lots of progressive talking points around here. Basically if Rand Paul says something they think it is bullshit and I like Ron Paul much more than Rand so I kind of see the point.

I was laughing on the inside when my guy played that conversation Rand had with that ladyman about cutting kids' gentials. I said I'm against cutting any kids (I'm anti circumcision and all genital mutilation) he shut up after that.

[–]BEB[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Just tell him to type in Lupron, the puberty blocker, and "castrate sex offenders" because that's what Lupron is also used for.

[–]WildApples 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It kills me that it is supposed to be some crazy, conservative, wing-nut idea that castrating our children may be a bad thing.

[–]purrvana 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I was so happy when I listened to this podcast the other day. It's on youtube too if you don't have apple: https://youtu.be/R225YKe2Ync

I personally love him because he dismantles TRAs arguments with such finesse. Watching him helped me understand how to take down the whole intersex argument.

[–]emptiedriver 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

This doesn't seem like a turning tide to me at all. The conservatives have never supported this but they also haven't supported being GNC or gay, and the harder line they take against it, the more stubborn the democrats will get that they have the right point of view. All they have to do is show some of the other things these people say, and then some hand-wavey, "it's complicated, trust the science" stuff, and dems will shrug their shoulders and agree. Surely if people with PhDs have determined transgenderism is sensible, and crazy people who think Jewish space lasers started wildfires say it is wacky, then you're just be backwards or bigoted if you don't get it...

What I listened to sounded pretty reasonable - but I don't see it helping the debate on a larger stage

[–]BEB[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

In the US, the conservatives have talked about TiMs in women's sports, but relatively sparingly before the 2020 election.

Conservatives stopped talking about bathrooms for the most part, probably because of all the virtue-signaling lib fems and/or hip minivan moms screaming, "She can pee next to me!"

So I think conservatives were a bit scared off on the privacy/dignity/safety aspect because of the power of lgbTQ +++ Inc. (and I'm not accusing LGB of anything, just their now All-Trans/Queer organizations).

However, now that feminists like Kara Dansky are speaking out on Fox News, conservatives have realized that Lefty women are also against the trans tidal wave.

And in the US, it's the Independents who the parties need to win, and Independents are quite possibly looking at the arguments themselves and going, "Oh Hell NO," is that 6'2" man with his swinging dick seeing my little princess naked.

The gender lobby is terrified of Lefty women waking up and allying with the conservatives ON THIS ISSUE ALONE (because the Progressives threw us under the bus) and that's exactly what's happening.

[–]MarkTwainiac 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

now that feminists like Kara Dansky are speaking out on Fox News, conservatives have realized that Lefty women are also against the trans tidal wave.

But Kara Dansky and other leftwing women appearing on Fox to speak out against the trans craze isn't something that's only started to happen "now." Kara D first appeared on Tucker Carlson to present the feminist case in February 2017 - more than four years ago.

https://twitter.com/tuckercarlson/status/829160963576365057?lang=en

Julia Beck appeared on TC in January 2019.

Also, on various Fox shows I've watched over the years (I've always watched Fox to see what the other side says), there's been consistent pushback on the trans craze - and especially alarm about teaching the ideology to school kids - from many commentators such as Tammy Bruce.

In response to Bruce's totally reasonable POV expressed on a Fox show in 2015, the "lefty" bros at The Young Turks went to town on Bruce, calling her "despicable," "enormously offensive" and "a stooge," telling her that as a lesbian she has a duty to back the orthodoxy of "the LGBTQ community" - and suggesting that perhaps she only imagines that she's a lesbian:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DTLMMVxVig

Note Cenk's gleeful expression of ageism in the clip too.

Kyle K at Secular Talk slammed the three women on Fox for teaching young children they can change sex, and excoriated Bruce in particular for not having the right opinions that he thinks all gay people are obliged to embrace:

https://youtu.be/ezQQN9uGdKs

The language and mocking tone he uses to excoriate the three women in the clip he's criticizing is really telling. He's a wanna-be Cenk. And just like Cenk does, Kyle K loudly asserts as though it's unassailable truth the sexist rubbish that some people are born with the body of one sex and the brain of the opposite sex.

I hate Shapiro. He's a little shit. Buuuuut... like a broken watch that is only very seldom correct, even he realizes that having "female" cock shoved into his heterosexual male face is very undesirable. So... go, Shapiro, go?
