"Don't ask if we are getting surgery. Please donate for my surgery." Fuck you. Fuck you. Fuck you. Shut the fuck up and we won't care about you wanting a dick or vagina. If you don't want people asking then shut it!

I don't get it though. Without the surgery it's all just feelings and stereotypes. It's so bloody cult like. With religions(at least where I live) im allowed to say "you believe in god but I don't, both of us can just go about our lives" but with this movement if I say "you believe you are a woman, I don't" I will get shot down for hate speach and possibly loose my job!

"I'll see your 10 commandments and raise you the....Trans Commandments!"

So... what if Ellen had decided to rename herself "Bob Johnson". Would no one be allowed to utter her birth name? Would anyone know who that refers to?

I think it's time to go back to when Prince changed his name to a bunch of symbols that were unfamiliar and unpronounceable, so everyone just referred to him as "the artist formerly known as Prince."

I'm going to start referring to all these attention-seekers similarly: "the actor formerly known as Ellen Page," "the Olympic athlete and father of many formerly known as Bruce Jenner," "the filmmakers formerly known as the Wachowski brothers," "the misogynist dickhead formerly known as Charles Clymer"... and so on.

Muhammed Ali and Yusuf Islam never had any problem with people referring to them as the boxer formerly known as Cassius Clay and the singer-songwriter formerly known as Cat Stevens. Why do today's narcissists get such special treatment? Why do they alone get to memory-hole their own pasts?

Lol. No clue, though I got into an argument with a couple wokesters about this issue earlier today - apparently even saying 'the actor formerly known as Ellen Page' is offensive. Pointed out that her name change was announced literally yesterday so asked if they expected people to be able to read minds. One of them suggested "the actor who was the star of <x> show", though he had no comment when I asked how anyone who hadn't watched the show/followed the cast would know who that meant. And of course, they'd have to have been successful enough to have starred in something...

They tie themselves into knots trying to justify the rules and the supposed respect it's all about. I suspect this is going to come to a head somehow in the next year, it's all so absurd and the non-woke are clearly getting tired of it.

Also, is Ellen Page now gonna be vying for best actor awards, as opposed to best actress ones? She'll find she's up for some stiff(y) competition, LOL. I doubt many male actors will look kindly on her trying to horn in on their turf.

Wonder if her coming out as trans is coz she's jockeying for some juicy "trans" parts? Perhaps "Rub 'n' Tug" is being brought out of development exile for her to star in?

But jeez, how would she ever play a male? She's tiny, with very delicate features and looks totally female. I don't think she has the chops or range that would allow her to be convincing as a male or sexually ambiguous character as so many actresses before her (Barbra Streisand, Julie Andrews, Ellen Barkin, Hillary Swank, etc) have done.

(Part of this comment was removed because I made a mistake).

Regardless, I was saying to my partner today- if EP gets her breasts removed, will she wear prosthetics to play female roles? How stupid does that sound.

There was a TiM in Queen's Gambit but it wasn't the actor who played Benny (which is the character I'm assuming you're referring to). The TiM is Rebecca Root who plays the chapel teacher at the orphanage. The actor who plays Benny is the boy who was in Love Actually and in Game of Thrones. As far as I know he is an actual male! He just has delicate features (like many child actors do).

Ok I’m silly, I confused the guy who played Benny for Elliot Fletcher, lol. Thank you for the correction!

Were they chicks (as in female)? Because every single account on instagram arguing the same thing were by female "queer" people, I noticed.

[–]lefterfield 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Not sure, really. It's a discord forum and I don't know from the usernames. The one who was the most vocal about it I'm pretty sure is female, though.

[–]Femaleisnthateful 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

According to transactivists, you're not even allowed to use 'formerly known as' because that's a form of 'deadnaming', too. It's a damn gift to con artists and predators is what it is.

[–]SpatOuttheKoolaid 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Everyone is supposed to forget Ellen ever existed, despite celebrity status. And not ask questions. Never ask the questions. In other news, we've always been at war with Eurasia.

[–]Femaleisnthateful 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Put 'Ellen' down the memory hole...You never saw a woman named 'Ellen Page' come out as a lesbian on national television.

Wonder what they'll say when/ if 'Elliot' detransitions.

[–]PassionateIntensity 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The HRC insta-changed her coming out gay video on youtube to Elliot's coming out gay. Yes, the one where she says she's a woman. It now makes NO SENSE.

[–]questioningtw 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Because this is something I am loathe to say conservatives have a point on: the facts don't care about your feelings( They are totaly hypocrites on this, but I am going to ignore that for this) This over political correctness crap isn't about making people's lives better, it is about narcissism; and being obsessed with your feelings is a type of that. Ellen Page has a right to transition, but she has no right to force everyone to refer her as he and making eveyone immediately refer to her as Eliot. She has no right trying to make everyone forget that she once came out as a lesbian. She also has no right forcing the Umbrella Acadamy writers into making Vanya into a man. Bruce Jenner should have refused the woman of the year award.

[–]nautilistic 8 insightful - 3 fun8 insightful - 2 fun9 insightful - 3 fun -  (2 children)

What if every day I change my name and pronouns? Is everyone expected to just keep up and be like "OMG you used my deadname, you horrible person!"

[–]lefterfield 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah, and some people do... among the "woke" group that I'm part of on discord, there's a person(I believe they're male but not certain) who changes their pronouns every couple weeks. And while no one will call this person out publicly, privately some of them admit that they're tired of "that person" and a lot of people just try to stop interacting with them.

Though that kind of makes me wonder... This person is young and probably genuinely depressed/has anxiety. But it seems like the pronoun switching is a way of pushing people away, the way a lot of depressed do. Just makes me angry that all mental health issues are pushed off as "because trans" and they aren't getting real help.

I am going to go into work tomorrow and announce that I am transitiong and you are to now call me James. Not only that you have to pretend like Jacalyn never existed and that I have been a man this whole time. Somehow I don't think I would get the Ellen Page treatment=P I wish the wokesters would see this. The only reason people like the Warshoskis, Ellen Page and Bruce Jenner get the treatment they do is because they are famous.

[–]Finnegan7921 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Which is probably why she deliberately chose a name close to her actual one. Ellen to Elliot is as drastic a change as something like Ellen to Michael.

[–]lefterfield 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Sure. I'm just thinking about it in terms of the rules the wokesters come up with about it. It's easy to understand Ellen -> Elliot, but there's nothing to stop someone from competely changing their first and last name. Apparently it'd be a cardinal sin to utter their old name aloud... so do they have any way of letting people know that this has transpired, or would they just have to yell at 9 billion people till everyone gets it?

[–]MarkTwainiac 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Also, people named Ellen and Elliot are often called just "El" in everyday parlance. I bet that's what Page's friends and family call her. So changing her name from Ellen to Elliot probably makes no practical difference in her daily life.

[–][deleted] 16 insightful - 1 fun16 insightful - 0 fun17 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Oh, it's about "basic respect", is it? For "just respect," look at the way the poster is speaking. Profane, condescending, sanctimonious, telling you how you can't question anything. And then at the end of it "Just be fucking respectful, it's not that hard." You need to be respectful but they can swear at you and treat you like a child... rich. I think these nonsensical social rules would give the Victorians a run for their money.

But remember, if you cause this supposed "basic disrespect," you could make someone so dysphoric they could kill themselves.

The narcissistic and entitled attitudes were my original peaking. It's wild to me that anyone willingly obey these kids' demands.

'correct!!! people!!!! when!!!! they !!!! use !!!! incorrect !!!! pronouns!!!11!!ONE1!!!1!!'

'but don't make a big deal over it uwu' please shut every fuck up.

The comments too: 'also: don't say "omg you're hot as a guy and a girl!" or anything about bisexuality' they stay shitting on bisexuals because we invalidate them too much for being into both sexes. Trust me, we don't want to fuck you just as much as you hate us.

because cussing, yelling !!!!!! and being outright nasty is really going to get people to listen. fucking hell. its sad that shit has so many upvotes when you can see the bitter anger in those words. "you can catch more flies/bees with honey" does not exist in their world.

I googled how many trans people there are. Less than 1%. Why should the rest of us change our diagloge, and other ourselves.... for 0.5% of the entire population?

"Cis women" just sounds stupid. I know the trans community may not love the term "trans woman" but at least there's nothing to be confused over in this context. Meanwhile, "cis" women goes to separate women who are... perfectly normal born female women for.... trans people's feelings?

This is just a pet peeve of mine as of late. It's like the politically expedient thing to do right now is ignore the obvious differences between biological women and trans women. It's so strange to me. Both people are valid, and their experiences are valid imo but it seems silly to insist trans-women and normal women are "the same". Trans women do not have gynecological issues and pretending that's not a real difference in which needs to be acknowledged and accounted for just doesn't make sense to me.

[–]questioningtw 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

This is why I" refuse to say men become pregnant and have periods. When 99% of the people that do are women, that is pretty damn statistically significant,

[–]Greykittymomma 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yes I call them out on it. How dare you apply a label 'cis' where no label is needed or wanted. I point out that they don't want me labeling them but THAT'S DIFFERENT. Right... I also point out by their rules I am at least GNC and possibly trans-lite lmao. None of them can agree if GNC is under the fucking trans umbrella or not. I am a masculine woman (but you know I have my days where I love dresses) I must be a gender fluid nonbinary donut person!
