I sincerely hope they start going after straight men. I hope their Twitter Mob will start going batshit crazy to make it a movement to demand straight men to stop their "transphobia" in their dating pool, the way they've been going after lesbians, women, and JK Rowling. Hell, I hope they start demanding Daniel Radcliff publicly admit that he would date and marry a transwoman. I hope they'll enforce silence on straight men who dare to say otherwise, and threaten to cancel them and report them to their employers if they dare to say no. Then, and maybe then, this insanity will finally stop.

Her sales remained strong even when the whole thing broke out. When they went at her after her Twitter posts, I was checking her Amazon sales ranking and she remained on the top of the Amazon Chart. Like, Harry Potter 1 was No.1 on the chart even on the day this whole thing broke out. Also, Amazon has perfected their system to stop one-star review attacks after Hillary Clinton's book came out a few years ago. I noticed that none of JKR's books had been attacked by Operation One-Star Bomb by the mob.

I just want to add a message of support. It saddens me to hear that detrans is ruining your life. Please remember that your life doesn't need to (and shouldn't have to) evolved around whether you're trans or detrans. In fact, the whole gender identity is stupid. You're a whole person. Why define yourself by gender anyway? Gender is not even remotely interesting. Try to move beyond that and explore your other interests or develop skills at something you're good at. Join those communities and meet new people, online or IRL, who share those interests. Leave behind friends who can't accept you and make new ones. Family--that one is hard, and I don't even understand. Do they want you to be someone reliant on hormones for life? As for the person you love, that one is tough too, but it happens sometimes. Even people who are married get divorced. But know that when one path ends, you'd be on a new path. You will be ok. This too shall pass. Your personhood need not be defined by whether you're a man or woman or living the lifestyle set by some ridiculous gender stereotype. You're defined by what you do, what goals you pursue in life for yourself, what you bring to your community, and a whole lot more beyond that.

Why do tras always act like not agreeing with their ideology is "denying trans people human rights " by TheSeventhSense in GenderCritical

[–]Lilith_Fair 34 insightful - 1 fun34 insightful - 0 fun35 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Several reasons I think:

  1. One of their tactics is to exaggerate their vulnerability. Words are "literal violence". Disagree with them and "they'll kill themselves". And when you point out common sense biological differences you're "spreading to a harmful ideology that contributes to the murders of the MOST VULNERABLE marginalized group of people". Throw a totally misleading report on the number of transwomen murdered each year. Now you got a brew of something along the line of literal murder by mere disagreement. Don't you care about their lives? They're human too!!!!

  2. They appropriate mantras of other groups. Feminists used to have the mantra 'Women's Rights are Human Rights". That's where "Trans Rights are Human Rights" came from. They've also co-opted "Black Lives Matter" to "Trans Lives Matter". The feminist one is about rights and the black lives one is about saving lives (from police and other forms of violence). They then conflate the concepts of these two mantras and hence people like you looking from the outside are scratching your heads having cognitive dissonance.

  3. Their entire existence depends on validation from other people so if you don't validate them and play along with their fantasies, they no longer exist.

Reddit today have mainly incels and males who are socially awkward. I'M not doing NAMALT here. What I'm trying to say s that Reddit, Twitter, Tumblr, etc., have really become spaces for certain specific types of people, and stuff on there are not reflective of the normies and regular peope. Reading what these incelly types post on Reddit will only going to give you brain damage and lot of frustrations, and is not good for our mental health.

It's really a shame because I remember what Reddit once used to be. It wasn't like this when Reddit started. People there used to be normal. Now it's just mostly shitty men, Wokebros, and "cool girls".

Her having experienced sexism is no excuse for all her nonsense. Her not being able to leave her house on her 18th birthday is the kind of things that has happened to all child stars and celebrity regardless of male or female so that's not sexism. Same with Pedophiles photoshopping.

She's a full-grown adult now. If she has suffered sexism, but still she's going to keep up her blind contribution to more discrimination and sufferings of women less fortunate than her, then I can make fun of her for her moronic handmaidenry and wokeness. God forbid she gets made fun of. OMG did we hurt her feelings? Let us not forget to coddle millionaire handmaidens in case their fragile feelings get hurt.

But more likely she wouldn't give a shit what people are saying here. And she doesn't have to either because she's privileged enough to never have to care.

I'd give him credit for not being afraid to speak out against Woke issues, and he does try to think critically about his beliefs, even though his critical thinking still doesn't lead to enlightenment when it comes to the subject of women. And he does have a good point that his rap content are very wholesome comparing to the edgy stuff out there, yet somehow he's the bad guy in that.

His weightlifting stunt here isn't to defend women, but to show that women are always inferior.

I know a lot of you are very upset. But honestly, I feel kind of relieved. Reddit has become such an awful place. I only visit there to lurk in GC anyway, and every time I go there (Reddit), I feel like I need to take a shower when I get out. I was actually one of the first people to discover Reddit when it started. (We're talking several lifetimes ago in internet time.) It was such an innocent fun place back then. Lot of people sharing quirky interests. Then I left for about 7, 8 years because life got busy. I only returned about a year ago searching for some of my old interests. Sadly, I discovered the place is nothing like what I remembered. Like all things web, it's become a large platform for Incel men to congratulate each other for being masters of the universe. The front page is so full of misogynistic shit posts every day, and Woke bros jerking each other off, I literally feel sick seeing what trends. Then I stumbled upon GC and it was the only thing that kept me visiting every so often. So in a way, I'm really glad to never have to go there anymore.

Hopefully, all the others who had the rug pulled out from under them will find their way here soon.

Biden can run like Weekend and Bernie's and still come out ahead. But no, they have to do all this shit because they can't help showing they're holier than thou. So they are incensing Trump's base when they might have otherwise sit out the vote. Plus, the more people feel silenced, the more they want to speak. And if they can't speak anywhere, they'll make sure to speak at the voting booth. This was what happened in 2016 and they didn't learn at all. Keep doing this shit and they're going to hand the White House right back to that asshole.

No offense taken. However, I don't think that withholding donation is equivalent to me having power to disallow whose idea is ok or deny anyone power. Certainly donations from any source would help. But whether I'm a donor or not, I personally have no power one way or another to allow or disallow anyone on this platform. Moreover, no one is even required to ever make donation of any kind, even for causes or organizations they value. The fact that there are only 21 patrons to this site reflects that. Thousands of people are here right now, rent free. I don't think I should be singled out to be someone who must overcome something I'm not comfortable with to give financial support. How I or anyone decide to give donations should be entirely up to the person doing the giving. If it was a tax, a law, or an issue of business boycott, that'd be another matter IMO.

ETA: Notwithstanding what I said here, I'm glad to see your call for everyone to help contribute. Magnora7 appears to be a very reasonable person giving a lot to try to do something good. I think he can really use as much support a he can get.

[–]Lilith_Fair 14 insightful - 1 fun14 insightful - 0 fun15 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

When it comes down to it, animals including human need to instinctively recognize the opposite sex. If not, we wouldn't be able to procreate. The fact that Woke people are acting as if they don't know this, and calling for the whole society to suddenly deny this instinct, is ridiculous. The idea that we even need research on this is as ridiculous as having a need to research whether men are physically stronger than women and therefore should not compete in sports together. They're all so Woke, they're brain damaged.

I also think women are further biologically programmed to instinctively recognize a man for self-protection and preservation. It doesn't mean every man we see is dangerous. But it is a way for us to know how to react to ensure our own safety.

It's another manifestation of cancel culture. Put enough one-star reviews on a book, movie, or show, and other people will believe the product is so bad, they won't buy it anymore. That's the purpose.

ETA: Never mind, my mistake. You said Goodreads, not Amazon. Goodreads can be pretty awful. A few years ago there were some people there who made it a sport to target authors for bullying. They'd one-star authors and leave bad reviews they want to pick on just to get a reaction from the author. If the author can't help by respond, the mob would jump in and pile on. There was a Guardian article about it. Bizarre and eye-opening. I think that's stopped though.

Radical feminism is failing because it’s too racist by [deleted] in GenderCritical

[–]Lilith_Fair 12 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 0 fun13 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I'm watching the conversation in this thread develop and I'm worried it'll take a wrong turn because no one is clear what OP is talking about, and she hasn't come back to clarify. I can't speak for all WOC, but I'm Asian-American. I used to lurk on the r/GC sub too, and I honestly have not seen or felt any racism here or there. In fact, I was quite impressed when I first discovered r/GC to regularly see discussion threads about international women's rights, as I always find feminism in the US to be myopic and limited to first world issues and blind or tone deaf to oppressions in less developed places and countries.

That said, I don't believe OP is a troll. Her post history here shows she is a good faith participant in the GC discussion. Her post is very cryptic about what she's displeased with, so I'm quite confused myself at this point. It seems that she might be talking about the platforms where our sub is hosted, and her dissatisfaction with what happens outside of the sub is meshed with what's happening in the sub? For example, Spinster is connected to Fediverse. And I have no doubt Fediverse might have some very alt_rightish spaces. This place, Saidit, can be very repulsive too. On the Home page I've seen some very revolting racist and antisemitic posts which I haven't seen on most places for years. It makes me really angry to know that the leftist purity police has now left us to rely on these horrible people to be the defenders of free speech. If this is OP's issue, then I'm not sure what we can do about it until the old r/GC mods have their own platform up and running.

From OP's post history, I did see one engagement she had with someone that touched on the subject of racism. It seems to me that the person she was engaging with is not so much GC but a wanderer in here from the main sub?? Again, these kind of engagements are sometimes unavoidable because there will always be people who came across this sub by random or curiosity. It's the nature of a public forum. I don't see most of these randoms as a problem as they usually are here by accident. They lose interest very quickly and leave shortly, unless they are here in bad faith to cause problems, in which case the mods will handle that.

Also, I don't think right now being on an open-speech sub is equivalent to buddying up with alt_rights. We can't condemn speech policing, and then insist on speech policing ourselves. One of the reasons I feel I can finally post a lot more freely now is because I don't feel like I have to walk on eggshells here anymore, the way I felt I had to on Reddit as I never knew who might be watching, even though I took a lot of precautions to make sure I was anonymous. I don't want the egg-shell culture to take over here. If someone has an issue, I hope it can be stated clearly what the specific problems are, and we can talk it out in the open so we can arrive at a place with better understanding, or clear up any misunderstanding.

OP: I hear you. I empathize with you. But a general complaint against racism is not helpful. This is a discussion forum. There are no leaders or leadership positions. You're welcomed here. Sometimes there are individuals who might be ignorant of something or another, but we also have to take into account that there are commenters or subscribers are from all parts of the world. Some are not going to be up-to-date or sensitive on racial issues that only affect the US or certain countries. Also, not all commenters are GC women. It's best to note who is speaking to get a better context. If something has upset or offended you, let us know what it is and let us try to come to a place where we can all express our grievances freely.

To everyone else, until we can get some clarifications, please stop all the guess works. DO NOT go Robin DeAngelo here please!! As a WOC I implore you that is the last thing we need.

IDK if there's any tag function on this site. The site admin plus some old users had been telling everyone ad nauseum that the best way to stop this is to post more other interesting stuff, like dog pictures and hobbies and the likes, so to make this place a platform of diverse interests and the cultural attack posts and racists posts would be drowned out. Somehow it's been futile.

For us the best thing would be that when we see lunatic extremist posts, do not engage. Just move on. If they're cultural attack posts, then we're adding to the problem and potentially helping to deplatform ourselves. If they're real extremists, then it's a waste of our time to talk to them anyway.

She didn't disappoint me because I realized long ago, before Woke and Trans Craze, that her book was crap. So here's my story: I read The Handmaid's Tale back when I was in my twenties in the mid 90s. I was very much a self-proclaimed feminist back then, and I bought into all the fear mongering in that book. I thought the book was amazing. Fast forward to when I was in my early forties. I picked it up again and I couldn't even get past the first few chapters. Firstly, it was actually very badly written. Also, every character was one dimensional caricatures. Maybe it's because I also grew older and have seen the world more, her portrayal of the conservatives in North America completely lack nuances. Yes of course there are a lot of ways conservative politics and culture are bad for women. But hers was such a simplistic cardboard view the conservative right that even for me who lean liberal find it laughable. So as literature, it's just garbage. I also think she wrote this book as reflective of the evangelical climate of the 1990s, so the feel of the book was very dated to me when reading it many years later.

When the TV series came out, I couldn't even bother to watch it. I just couldn't stomach the fear mongering in the book itself.

There was one thing that bothered me throughout though, from when I first read it in my twenties and then later in my forties. There was a part where she had some Japanese women tourists visiting Gilead, and the Japanese women were all free and blissfully ignorant of the oppression of the white women in Gilead. That part is totally fucked up. Japan is a wonderful country, but as far as women's rights and equality go it is so far behind. For Atwood to portray Japanese women this way is just insulting to both Japanese women and North American women. It's completely blind to what life for Japanese women is like and the sexism they face, while idealizing a foreign culture in a way that is actually condescending, as some white liberals do. This part, really, was woke before Woke.

So yeah, I'm not disappointed. I hadn't bought into her bullshit for years.

I don't disagree. I was thinking yesterday how even 5 years ago I saw quite a bit of pushback with people repeating the famous quote "I don't agree with what you said, but I'll defend to death your right to say it". I've noticed these last 3 years no one really say that anymore. Probably because it's proven to fall on deaf ears. Really sad. OTOH, if one is to say "I'll defend to death your right to say it", I guess $5/mo donation to Patreon, comparing to death, isn't all that much to give.

Agreed. There are too many racists posts on this site that for me are really hard to stomach. However, the freedom to speak is such an incredible, incredible relief! I haven't felt the freedom to speak so freely anywhere on the internet for a very very long time. When I put things in perspective and remind myself that the racists on this site are just some individual randos who have no real power over me or anyone else outside of their pathetic little lives anyway, I feel that they can do their puny little rant all the want as long as it remains some rando rant. The benefit of being able to speak and associate freely is such a huge, huge prize in exchange for some nobody rando rant which I can choose to ignore.

I never was a fragile flower who "don't feel safe" because of other people's opinions and I never will be. Sure, it'd be a better, happier, more harmonious world if everyone would be respectful and kind. Abigail Shrier is a lawyer. This woman is sharp. She graduated BA at Columbia and Yale Law. I think she's a conservative although I can't be sure. But if she is, she isn't exactly AltRight. She does write for the Federalist and WSJ, so she isn't running in Woke circles and they can't cancel her. She just did an interview on Bridget Phetasy's podcast today about her new book, "Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters". The podcast was awesome and focuses entirely on girls. Definitely check it out. (Also, I LOVE Bridget. Her YouTube Show Dumpster Fire is hilarious. I'd take her any day over the woke Lib Fem comedians on SNL. She gets quite a lot of interesting guests on her podcast too. You won't like or agree with all of them but you can't say she doesn't have a wide variety of guests, and some of them are very articulate.)

It's really great that Shrier is bringing the subject to a wide mainstream audience. And IDK why but the TRAs are pretty much leaving her alone. I don't see them screeching and sending her death threats and rape threats on her Twitter page. Amazon refuses to advertise her book though.

Speaking of podcast, Katie Herzog also started a new podcast called Blocked and Reported. I really like it so far, so much so that I signed up to support it on Patreon. She's another one bringing the TRAs mess to mainstream consciousness and I'm glad more and more people/women like them have found themselves in positions to be able to speak out, and are being the voices for many of us who can't.

A few things: A lot of former GC members have come over here and they're really hurting and angry right now because of what happened. So they're venting here. At the same time, regular Saidit members are suddenly seeing all these GC posts flooding their main page. Many probably never heard of GD before and naturally they'll be curious to come in and find out what's going on. Saidit also has its own rules to prompt debates which the existing members have been following, and so they're just doing what they've always been doing here. But the new GC women migrating here are all new and don't know that yet. The operators of this site and the mods of this sub are fixing things now so everything should end up fine for everybody. You all please give it a little time. When the dust settles, things will operate more as desired by everyone.

Regarding GC "censorship", yes and no. It's really a lot more nuanced. The whole reason why this GC group takes such a hardline is because they are being censored everywhere else. They're not censoring because they don't want to fundamentally debate and reason. In fact, if they can debate and reason and be heard instead of being shut down everywhere, they wouldn't need this place so much in the first place. They're censoring some things as a practice, but the reason behind it and the intent is not to not hear different ideas (which would've been contrary to the purpose of Saidit). The reason it imposes some censorship is so that GC views and women's voices can actually be heard. In that respect, I ask that existing Saidit members to try and understand why we need this space, and why the current hostile tone.

I for one don't need "safe space" in the Woke sense. Words and differing opinions are not "literal violence". It's a stupid concept I'll never buy into. I'm just tired of having to keep silent.

I also read in another Saidit thread yesterday where some current members don't think it's good to have separate GC_debate sub, and I think they gave some very good reasons. Perhaps one solution to have this space be for women but also support the spirit of Saidit would be to have one mega thread within this sub for men to ask questions--not so much to argue our basic beliefs are wrong, but to question and explore according to their pyramid questioning model. And any woman who cares to handhold and explain can do that in that thread, but those who can't be bother can just skip it? I'm sure some women would disagree with this proposal, which is fine. I just thought I'd throw it out there.

The way I see it, if you live in a solidly blue or red state, you can actually go with your conscience and not vote the presidential level. You can still vote on the Congressional, state, and local level.

If you're in a swing state, then the choice is entirely up to you. I don't believe in pressuring anyone to vote any way. And I feel really sorry for everyone who's in that position.

As for feeling politically homeless, there is some liberal pushbacks now happening against cancel culture and ideological purity. Katie Herzog and Jesse Singal's podcast is gaining traction very fast precisely for people who feel that way. You can find and connect with others who feel this way on their Patreon page comments, not just about Trans issue but cancel culture and intimidation against "wrong think" all around. Bridget Phestasy too has a podcast and YouTube station with a decent size platform of politically homeless people from the left and the right. I discovered them this year and it's been such a breath of fresh air. Bridget just did a podcast interview with Abigail Shrier who wrote Irreversible Damage about the social contagion of transing girls. Here's the Stitcher link. It's on Apple too. https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/ricochet/walkins-welcome/e/74249880

If you want something more highbrow, Yascha Mounk started a new community called "Persuasion" to bring together people who don't want to be besieged by the extremes: https://www.persuasion.community. I found out about this on Katie and Jesse's podcast.

I think there is a slow pushback building up against the liberal Twitter mob craziness. I hope we'll get back to some center of sanity.

My bet is the ringleaders wanted to have the cast band together as a group to issue statements, and Grint just went along like whatever. Ungrateful little twits these.

Emma Watson's the worse. Watching her grow up was painful. Here she was with the meatiest role of the generation handed to her when she was a kid. She gets older, not even an adult yet, and the corporate world showered her with ops like the Dior contract and tons of others, making her the wealthiest of the three main casts. An ivy league school accepted her because top schools Love getting "exceptional" students with "unique" backgrounds". She's so freakin blind to what regular women have to go through and live with. Then she goes out as a "feminist rights activist" as if she has a clue. But do you see her take on roles that empower women? No. When money, fame, and career comes to her front door, out she goes to make a Disney princess movie. She gets herself into positions to "speak for women" only to use those positions to speak for men in skirts. What a stupid tool.

I'm going to assume that Tom Felton is on her side, for loyalty if nothing else. After all, right now it's just waaaaaay too easy to TWAW and get thousands of brownie points, likes, media coverage, and pats on head. I think personal boycotts based on ideals are fine but the whole group outrage of 'if you don't boycott X company you're evil and needed to be cancelled' thing is ridiculous.

Cancel culture is millions of individuals who do not know how to cope with people they dislike, all making individual choices to harass, boycott, doxx, petition, and write letters.

I think you're both correct. On the one hand personal boycotts as a personal choice is not actually cancel culture. OTOH, these personal choices become a collective now because of fucking Twitter. Twitter continuously create outrages to rally a mob for this or that. So while the choices are personal, normally in the past these choices wouldn't have been made in the first place. Once the mob gets loud enough, all the corporations fold and bend at the knee.

Of course in a free society people should be able to boycott companies by their personal choices. In a sane world, boycotts are for when a company is dumping toxic chemicals into the river. In a world where Twitter is the arbiter of morality, companies get threats of boycott when a lowly hourly employee at one store out of the company's 500 stores nationwide does or say something that a shrill group of people on Twitter decides is offensive. Or worse, what the one lowly employee did or said is taken totally out of context or misconstrued. It's ridiculous. It's also ridiculous when the mob threatens boycott if the head of a company voices support for the "wrong" party or politician. Why should hundreds of workers and employees who are just working to feed their families suddenly have their livelihoods threatened because I disagree with their CEO's politics? 99% of the time when people take jobs, they have no clue about the top management's politics. Most will never even meet the executive management. Should people only take jobs now if the entire company's management have "correct" views and opinions? What about people who live in places where the company is the largest jobs provider in the area? The whole thing is insane and out of hand.

It must feel so lonely for you right now, and we all feel for you. If we're to be honest, there's no advice we can give you that can truly help change the people around you. That said, just because everyone else is obsessed with ideology, gender identities and issues, doesn't mean you have to be. In fact, one day you'll probably look back and think this is all in fact totally boring. And whatever your sexual preference, you're sixteen. At sixteen, no one needs to be in a hurry to find the love of your life yet. So in the mean time, can you redirect your time and mind to something else completely unrelated to all the nonsense? Can you explore new hobbies and develop skills in something else? I'm just throwing random crazy ideas out there. For example, history? Geocaching? Antiques? Paper mache art? Hell, Wood shop? I'm not saying these are things you should pick up, but just to give you an idea what I mean. Like, seriously, just about anything else will make you a more interesting person than the rest of them. Find something fascinating to you which you can devote time to become really good at or become a hobbyist expert at. It'll make life much more fun and give you a break from all the so-called social issues.

And perhaps find older books about lesbians, whether fiction or nonfiction, so you can explore that world on your own? Others here might know something to recommend to you.

And you can always come back here if you need some air.

Edit ETA: my point about it all being very boring--I mean all the supposed social awareness and endless preoccupation with their gender identities are in fact a total bore.

Gender Critical and Atheism by -thedarkhorse- in GenderCritical

[–]Lilith_Fair 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I'm a Christian, formerly atheist and converted as an adult. But not the evangelical type and I have no interest in imposing my religious views on anyone else. I'll admit I can't completely call myself Radfem because of this and some other reasons, but I support Radfems for many of their causes. But to answer your question: in my view our bodies are a gift from God. That's why we should love ourselves and our bodies, instead of endlessly finding faults with them. God doesn't care if our thighs are too big or our nose is too flat or whatever. In God's eyes, we're perfect the way we were made. For the same reason that it's a gift, we should also take good care of our bodies by eating well and exercising, etc. Our bodies are our temple. Further, our bodies are not something for feeding our vanity or identities. Our bodies are vessels given to us by God so we can use it to go out and do good for the world, help other people, and do what we can to give joy to those who are in our lives. The whole TRAs ideology--puberty blockers, hormones, surgeries--is a rejection of God's loving gift to us. A violent mutilation of something that is good and perfect. A taking of something that is wondrous in the way it functions, with so many things our limited mind still cannot understand (like we still can't cure a lot of diseases, or even figure out how to fight the Coronavirus), and giving it to some doctor with human limitations to attempt to create a Franken-version of the real thing.

I feel the same way with all the Genderism people changing their names too. In healthy, functioning families, our names are a gift from our parents. When we were born, our parents picked names for us with certain hopes for our well-being and future. In some cultures, naming of children is a very serious matter for the family. But now everyone playing the gender game just want to dump all that into the trash with no regards for all those in the family who love them. All they care about is themselves and what they want. It's all very self-centered and narcissistic IMO.

Unless you all are in a swing state, maybe the conscientious thing to do is to sit this one out. At the end of the day, the outcome will only depend on a few swing states anyway. I'm not in a swing state, so I'm not voting. Trump is a disaster but damn the Woke left. The way they are behaving now, they aren't getting my affirmation vote.

Is there any truth to the rumor that she had an affair with a married man? If she did then I'm further disappointed and I will never trust her. I can never understand any woman who betrays another woman this way. If the man is attached to another woman, don't touch. It's that simple.

Didn't that already happen? Jessica Yaniv?

That's the way I look at it. Supporting this site doesn't mean supporting the individual views within it. I support the Constitution but it doesn't mean I support all the ways people act and behave under it.

A lot of things said on here are repulsive but is the alternative better? At the rate things are going, alternative frightens and repulses me way more and I guess that's the reason why I'm still here.

I won't support policing of speech on this site or any other site actually trying to maintain the principle of free speech. But I don't think this site will last. Fundamentally people everywhere care more about their pet issues than upholding free speech (and that includes those flooding the front page as well as those disgusted by it, and all the sheeples happily posting in non-political subreddits because "it doesn't affect them".

It's not up to me to change your opinion. I'm just another user here. Plus, my post wasn't targeted at you specifically. As far as I see it, all the extremists you can't stand ought to contribute too if they're gonna come and bitch everyday. Never mind policing or following the intended use of this site. They flood the site but they can't even contribute a dime to enable themselves to yap apparently.

Hordes of people are without jobs, soon to be living out their cars supporting free restrooms, never mind the speech.

Ok, so s/WatchSaiditDie then? Suit yourselves. Whatever.

Magnora7 is running this site entirely by himself. It's a lot of work and I'm sure he has work and a life to tend to too and can't think of everything. Please go to s/Saidit and make this suggestion.

Who's your favourite/most informative/well written/realistic feminist character in movies/series? Or what is the best story about such a character (even if they're not the protagonist)? by vitunrotta in GenderCritical

Ok not exactly "realistic" as she was an alien but Moogie (Ishka) of Star Trek:DS9. She single-handedly became the mastermind behind the Ferengi Empire, ruled by the most sexist race of male humanoid in the entire galaxy. She then brought down the whole patriarchy and made female equal. That woman rocked!

Captain Janeway was awesome too. Oh and don't forget the Borg Queen.

Dana Scully in X Files. Gillian Anderson is great. She kicked ass in The Fall too.

Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) in Gravity.

Julianna Crane in Man in High Castle.

Ulana Khomyuk in Chernobyl.

Ones I could think of so far . . .
