Great responses. I just don't understand, what he means by women not being sympathetic to TIMs. The fact is, women are FAR too sympathetic. To the point of collusion with the erasure of our sex class. What else does he want? Total capitulation from 100% of women to a 100% of their demands? Are we all supposed to cuddle dysphoric males and feel grateful that they are not masculine (at least, in this case)? What kind of logic is that?

The thing is, I am sympathetic to their suffering. What I'm not sympathetic to is their demands to change reality, our language and our behaviour, so that they can live their unreality unperturbed. They have dysphoria and they should totally seek and get the help they need, just like any other person with physical and mental issues. The day they understand this and stop believing they are some special category in urgent need of a pedestal, we will get along just fine.

Not paranoid and definitely not irrational. We're talking about men, who indulge their fetishes to the point of gender dysphoria (AGPs). We're talking about men, who have irrational beliefs and who want to force those beliefs onto society and onto law. We know men can't be trusted in women's spaces, because some of them will take advantage. Men know that and most of them respect our right to our spaces. TW also know that, but they relish our fear and disgust. Controlling us and making us uncomfortable is part of their "euphoria". We know that and they know we know.

I totally believe that, because that's what they also say openly on Twitter, although coated in nicer language sometimes. Rejecting trans people (transwomen, let's be honest here) is oppressive and therefore unacceptable. Men have never dealt well with rejection and that's something society should start taking seriously. You know, instead of sex education, where teenagers have to learn about blowjobs, kinks and anal sex, schools should keep it to basics, when it comes to sex and dedicate more time to protection, contraception AND detecting predatory behavior. Young people should learn how to detect and deflect coercive arguments and also how to deal with rejection, particularly young men.

Do you guys think men and women have different brains? by eddyelric in GenderCritical

[–]purrfect 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don't dislike Debra Soh, but after watching a few interviews, I don't find her particularly clear about concepts and what she means. She often mixes up gender and sex and I keep correcting her in my mind, until I get confused myself.

Anyway, you ask: shouldn't a neuroscientist know this? I've followed a few neuroscientists with all kind of points of view and I suspect many of them are afraid of saying out loud stuff that could justify certain attitudes and also some fear cancellation. It's dangerous territory, whether we like it or not. So here it goes:

  • On average, male and female brains differ slightly in size and structurally. It makes sense, because one sex is usually bigger than the other and have different sex organs and hormone production. The key words here are "on average". I remember one neuroscientist saying, that if they had nothing but the brain (and before doing any genetic test to confirm), they'd still be capable of guessing if it belonged to a male or a female at high rates, but not always, because there are "overlapping brains". This definitely doesn't mean there are cognitive differences, because there aren't any, according to studies.

  • Innate gendered behavior: I believe some of it is innate on average (magical words!). I think most animals have it, too: mating rituals, offspring rearing, etc... For instance, do I think violence is gendered? Yes, I do. Most men have a greater tendency to violence than women, although that doesn't mean there aren't meek men or violent women. I mean, men's skeletal structure is built for fighting. So no, I don't believe all of the gender roles are cultural, but I do think the great majority of them are.

  • I think Debra Soh has tunnel vision. She admitted she doesn't like feminists, because some tried to suppress and deny research in this field, so scientists had to walk on eggshells. She has some undeniable resentment and bias, even if she makes some good points. She also has a tendency to try and shield herself from accusations of transphobia with constant assertions that transitioning in adulthood can be beneficial. It's not going to work, Debra!

  • I think much more research is needed. And I mean research that isn't censored or even self censored. The more studies we have about this, the better. I'd rather have the truth and work from that.

GC Participants: Do you consider yourself a radfem? by usehername in GenderCritical

[–]purrfect 9 insightful - 2 fun9 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

No, I don't consider myself a radfem. I'm more second wave aligned than anything. For a long time I tried to get more into radical feminism, but in the end it hasn't worked. Sometimes I'm skeptical of the use of "The Patriarchy" as blanket term for all that is wrong between the sexes, at least in the westernized world. It feels more like a boogeyman to complain about, than an actual issue to be solved. I prefer it, when it's explained, how it manifests in certain situations (prostitution, porn,...), because then one can think of possible solutions and their pros and cons.

Also, I have a problem with the whole "abolishing gender" thing. I'm GC and I don't believe for a second women and men should conform to sex stereotypes (I certainly don't) and I think gender non-conforming people should never be punished for expressing themselves differently and should be able to participate in society fully, but what does "abolishing gender" mean? What does it imply?

I'd rather examine different claims separately. I'm not a good consumer of entire ideologies.

I know how to feel about this if the woman posting that is an adult. She went down a rabbit hole and got herself into panic attacks and attempted suicide? Come on! I do empathize, but not to the point of not calling her a bit... dim.

I'm glad she eventually realized it was because of her choices, but she missed it was because of her thinking process, as well. Looking for advice online is perfectly fine, as long as you take everything with a grain of salt, apply some critical thinking skills and look for as many differing opinions (and try to understand why those opinions exist). Looking for help in real life too would be optimal, though.

Also, feminists do fund domestic violence shelters, etc... She would have noticed that if she wasn't so busy feeding her fear with the specific posts, she was interested in.

The "trans rights" movement wouldn't have consumed everything in its path if it had stood on its own. [–]purrfect 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I like Buck, I really do, but the answer is no. Not because I'm mean or I hate trans people or think they deserve to suffer. The answer is no, because this is how this mess began in the first place. Trans people can have their feelings catered to by friends and family if they consent or feels natural to them, but never under coercion. And by coercion I include things like "If you call me she/he, I'll cry/commit suicide".

Trans people demand "kindness", which means whatever they want to mean, which ends up encoded into law against women. I don't consent, Buck.

If trans people were honest, they wouldn't demand to be called the opposite sex accompanied by whatever qualifiers they want. Calling TIMs transwomen includes males in the category of women, which makes us a subset of our sex class by default. The answer is no, because if they were honest, TIFs would ask to be called trans women/females (women presenting as men) and TIMs would ask to be called trans men/males (men presenting as women). Or come up with a new term and stop appropriating, what wasn't theirs to begin with.

I'm going to sound like a conspiracy nut, but I don't care at this point. There is a concerted global effort by the elites, to push us towards transhumanism, which inevitably requires the use and total control of women in the lower classes, to provide the upper classes with their genetic children and the human working force, that will keep the food chain greased and essential services going, so that the upper classes can indulge in their luxury lives and beliefs. They will keep us fed and sufficiently "healthy" at a price: total control.

The Gates, other billionaires, corporations and the politicians they've bought don't engage in philanthropy, they engage in profit. Human beings as resource, as infrastructure to be used. We are their capital. And they've hijacked leftist language and leftist politics, to accomplish it.

We all know there is no way these people would push for universal minimum income or talk about women's "unpaid labor" at home and raising children, unless they found way to keep us down and obedient, and them even richer.

Now, if not stating your pronouns means losing a job or anything else really important, I suggest stating really difficult pronouns that fit your ~inner sense of self~

My gender identity is gaiagender and my pronouns are bark/hee-haw.

Dear Lux, you paid a lot of money to hack your face and body, you use a ton of heavy make up and try your best to mimic a porn sick male's idea of a women, and all you managed to do is look "prettier", but you'll be a male till the day you die. You know it deep down, the men you manage to attract also know it deep down. You also know that, any partner that isn't gay, will leave your narcissistic ass, the moment they want a family.

Vanessa might not be "prettier". She's also not an expensive imitation. She's the real deal. Everyone knows that. Even your fans.

Where has it been proven to improve dysphoric women's lives? Where are all the clinical studies? I'm not saying it doesn't work, but where are the scientific studies stating percentages of short, mid and long term success, percentages of desisters/detransitioners and how that practice compares to any other surgery (for medical reasons) Vs. placebo.

Any surgery on the body, when the problem is psychological is dodgy at best and should be scrutinized thoroughly.

I hate it, that this awful ideology is making scientists look like fools. Very few are speaking out against it out of fear, while most are propping it up, not with data and science, but by repeating cult-like mantras. It's embarrassing. I never thought scientists were above stupid beliefs, but I did think they tended to have some immunity and they were more difficult to get to. Not anymore.

Non sequitur fallacy. I can define it in terms of "womanhood" in terms of "bodies" and not police women at all.

Woman = adult human female. Female = reproductive anatomy organized around the production of large (non-motile gametes).

It's like humans being vertebrates. No matter how spineless liberal feminists are, they can't identify themselves out of vertebrity/vertebrateness.

Sexless, cognitively and physically underdeveloped, with probable metal issues and physically damaged = dependent on others and easily manipulated.

The game of gender ideology is just a piece of the puzzle. I don't think everyone in power is an evil mastermind, but a few are and they are pushing civilization towards a utopia (in their minds): transhumanism. That cannot be achieved in the open and without severing people's tether to reality. The unreality we're currently experiencing is the means to impose a brave new world without much resistance.

[–]purrfect 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don't have any friends, who believe in gender woo woo, so I consider myself very lucky. I used to follow some twitter accounts, that turned out to be trans activists and I lost interest in them, but, to be honest, there wasn't any friendship there. That doesn't mean I haven't been in similar situations, so here's what I would do: Forgive, yes. Forget, no. The way I see it, these people managed to get out of cult thinking and people like that can be very helpful in the pushback against this ideology. The more assets in this fight, the better and rejecting them wouldn't help anyone. That would be the practical reasoning behind accepting them back. The emotional one would be that, this cult has been very clever in its disguise as "oppressed and downtrodden" and in painting us as right wing phobes. TRAs have taken advantage of gay rights activism, using it as a shield and camouflage, and hijacking people's best instincts. And, let's face it, people tend to go with the flow, until they hit the inevitable rock. All of this is reason to forgive. However, I don't see how forgetting or trusting them is an option. After all, they were ready to believe the worst of you without giving you the benefit of the doubt 🤷

Look, the Left in general has lost its marbles. They will shame the working class, gays and lesbians, POC and their aunty for voting right wing parties, because "we don't know what's best for us". I'm saying this as a lifelong leftist voter, the biggest mistake we as feminists can do is be a captive vote. Even worse, be a captive vote of the political side that is trying to erase your sex class and then insult, mock, cancel and silence you for not complying.

My vote is fucking expensive, okay? My vote belongs to me and not to any political party. They are used to betraying and backstabbing captive voters, because their PR machine has convinced us that they are still the party of the oppressed, when, in reality they are the party of Silicon Valley. Then they have the gall to turn around and shame the ones that dare vote other options and consider that a betrayal! Bah!

Is it possible to abolish gender? by moody_ape in GenderCritical

[–]purrfect 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

No, I don't believe that gender can be abolished, because:

  1. Sexual dimorphism and the biological roles we evolved to fulfill will inevitably lead to cultural differences between the sexes. I don't think any radical feminist is blind to that.

  2. However, "gender abolition" can help women escape the roles imposed on them without fear of consequences, ideally and hopefully in law. F.i. Clothing, make-up, expected character traits should be considered non-gendered or subject to discrimination in law.

  3. Nonbinary people have done nothing to abolish gender. In fact, they are as genderists as TRAs, because they attack sex categories, not gender roles. They consider themselves neither female nor male, so that they can dress accordingly (in theory, but we all know in practice many NB women are "not like the other girls" women. They alter the physical, so that they can justify the cultural. They are as revolutionary as I would be if I wore a saddle after declaring myself a horse.
