I was honestly afraid to get hit in the face. The reason I turned tail and ran was because I have a huge presentation at work tomorrow to all the Directors. It's the culmination of two years work. That was what was going through my mind. I didn't want to have to explain away a black eye. Looking back, I could have said I was out protesting with Black Lives Matter and they would have salivated all over my feet and handed me a raise and promotion.
