People who aren't trans putting their pronouns on Twitter are super fucking weird by [deleted] in GenderCritical

[–]assignedcopatbirth 11 insightful - 2 fun11 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Almost everyone I know does this. For context there was a campaign a while back (probably entirely fabricated) stating that everyone should put pronouns in their bios because big bad bullies would find and single out trans twitter accounts using pronouns as a telltale sign. You'd think the logical conclusion would be for the trans users to remove pronouns from their bio to avoid harassment but oh god no, everyone has to bend over backwards for them to feel safe and comfy.

Twitter is a cesspool.

[–]assignedcopatbirth 11 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 0 fun12 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

OMG at the end he says "little humans included" on the screen when his final point is like "I'll treat you well"... I was already creeped out by him using the two kids as props for his creepy dating video.

"Little humans included" either means he's specifically seeking women with kids or, even worse, he's inviting "littles" as in the gross women who roleplay as children as a kink (I wish I didn't know this but that's what I get for spending too much time on the internet).

Either way I get MAJOR creep vibes and he's clearly only doing the bare minimum to be seen as a trans woman because this behaviour is ten times creepier coming from a man.

"It's like a whites only club!!!" No hun, it's more like a black-women-only club not letting Rachel Dolezal in.

It's so weird they whip out racial power structures as a comparison for trans 'oppression'. Black people are oppressed because of centuries of slavery and economic apartheid after that, much persisting to this day.

Firstly, when were women majority in charge of ANY power block like government, military or big business? I must have missed that.

And when these "cis" women were running the world, when exactly did we pass laws that made trans people actual literal SLAVES, denied them right to own property, marry outside their 'kind' and travel freely? When did we build cities that kept trans people away from their families, fresh food, and leisure? When did women fight wars to keep trans people from basic human liberation?

You'd think this stuff would be in woke history textbooks by now!

Thank you for your thoughtful reply!

  1. I haven't read much about hormone treatments, but transitioning in general is still not seen as a rigorously proven treatment in the medical community, especially since the American Psychiatric Association published a statement that surgical transition has no mental health benefits, https://ajp.psychiatryonline.org/doi/10.1176/appi.ajp.2020.1778correction and children who socially transition don't see mental health improvements either https://doi.apa.org/doiLanding?doi=10.1037%2Fcpp0000295 I would hardly say that looking at all the data, an 'extreme likelihood of improved life' is shown.

  2. What is identity if not a matter of self-perception coupled with behaviour?

2.2 Anorexia no longer requires low BMI as a diagnostic criteria, as most anorexics start at a normal weight, and become underweight later, so it was theorised the low BMI rule wasn't helping early diagnosis and intervention.

2.3 "In fact eating disorders are often presentations of things like an unmet need for control" of course, that's why it's a mental disorder. I would argue gender dysphoria/transition is also a presentation for a need for control, surely being in the wrong body makes one feel out of control, and the transition is the way to fix it.

  1. I'm reading Debra Soh's book right now so I don't have the study to hand, but she cites that something like over 90% of gender dysphoria experienced by teenagers is resolved by the time they reach adulthood. I'll try find the source but she's usually good with only citing respected studies. So growing out of dysphoria is completely possible.

The propaganda they are drilling into our kids - "Being a trans girl is like being a girl with freckles..." (Yeah, if a freckle was a PENIS) by BEB in GenderCritical

[–]assignedcopatbirth 23 insightful - 1 fun23 insightful - 0 fun24 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

(CCing my Ovarit response here!)

So here's the thing with this argument:

If all girls are SO different because we have... different heights, freckles, whatever...

Then why was 'girl' a category in the first place?

Why did we round up half of humanity, across every culture in the world, and say "this is a girl type" and "this is a boy type"?

And why, if trans(male) is just another sub-type of girl (that we're unfairly excluding), why do we not see cultures around the world that exclude other sub-types? Why aren't there cultures where tall girls are treated, socially, as boys? Or flat-chested girls? Or why, in any culture around the world, isn't the 'freckled' sub-type its own gender?

That doesn't happen because 'girl' is not a cultural identity, it's a physical fact. It may have sub-types but the core category is that these are all female children. The fact this cartoon is calling them girls and not PEOPLE in the first place is because they have all have something in common (being female) that not all people share.

If these categories were meaningless, we wouldn't have them across thousands of cultures and millions of years of humanity

Look I know it's very upsetting that violent misogynistic language like "kill TERFs" has been normalized, but the truth is it has, at least in those circles. If it wasn't normal, OP wouldn't be asking this question.

You seem to be angry with OP and everyone else who isn't treating this person as a violent criminal planning murders out loud. But Occam's razor says this isn't a TRA serial killer, just an awkward idiot. And treating awkward idiots like criminals creates nothing but conflict and drama.

If OP wants a solution besides just kicking her out, why is that so wrong?

I know there's not much evidence for this, but I strongly suspect the non-binary "identity" is based on trauma, specifically dissociative trauma.

The huge amount of cognitive dissonance it takes for a woman to call herself a "they/them lesbian" is staggering and confusing. Nobody is that stupid, and nobody has a rewarding reason to lie about it, like money or fame. I guess the little amount of clout/woke points you get would be attractive to a borderline personality, but that loops back to trauma again, doesn't it?

To me it applies to GC because Blaire made a point the gun was "Barbie Pink" which made me roll my eyes. Paying extra to make your death machine "the official girl colour teehee" shows how dedicated Blaire is to this bimbo character as her "female identity".

I see you're new here so my suggestion is to take posts here as they are: written by a variety of individuals with a wide array of views, interpretations of what GC means, and beliefs about what trans people want or are like as a group. Many are rightfully angry and come here to vent.

We have our own shorthand so as a newcomer I can see why it's confusing to see a post like this and think "they're not even talking about philosophy, they're just nitpicking trans people" when we're not spelling out our point in the OP.

I'd say try to lurk and read the back catalogue of a variety of posters before deciding what the whole sub is like. And if it's too harsh for you, try Ovarit lol

Mama is the boy's first servant. She cleans up after him, cooks for him, coddles him, and her "reward" is that he's dependent on her, so she feels needed.

That's my theory anyway.

There is no respect, no seeing the mother as a person with her own needs. Her only power is withholding approval, which can sometimes make her feel in control. But he doesn't listen to her because he cares about her, but because he's a little (or big, overfed) narcissist who depends on her endless sacrifices for his comfort.

[–]assignedcopatbirth 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Blaire is a "not like other girls" trans woman, craving mainstream acceptance to a dysfunctional degree. It makes Blaire a useful ally in some cases, but generally unreliable - for example in a recent video there was a TiM bodybuilder in his thumbnail about the unfairness of trans athletes, even though that TiM had never competed as a woman and has been very open about not competing as a woman because it would be unfair. So Blaire would rather get anti-trans clicks than tell the truth.

I agree with Blaire about a lot of things, but stunts like that (and the general pro-Trump, pro-gun, living blow-up doll aesthetics vibe) make me wary of being an outright supporter.

Or will this all end in simulated infant loss? Or one of those realistic reborn dolls?? I'm morbidly curious.

Agreed, feminine was always a weird euphemism for menstrual, but I've just gotta wonder who it was actually bothering or confusing?

The time it took for people to write, market and sign this petition is such a waste. Y'all could've been doing something productive lol.

“The use of the terms ‘sanitary products’ or ‘feminine hygiene products’ suggests there is something unsanitary or unhygienic about having a period when this is not the case,” the petition adds.

This is the dumbest shit I've ever heard. Menstrual blood is literally human waste! It's hygienic and sanitary to dispose of it! That's why we deal with it in the bathroom!

Why is this a "stigma" now, because TiMs fetishize our literal waste??? Half of them get turned on by piss and shit too so I don't know why I'm surprised!

But when WOLF publishes these numbers, they'll be fiction because they only polled TERFs waaaah!

His voice is so wildly terrible! This parody nailed it: https://twitter.com/mattbooshell/status/1044280610733391874 and it's so sexist that Oliver can just yell his monologues to sound more convincing, but if a woman ever raised her voice like that she'd be deemed a lunatic.

I'm not reading this because my blood pressure can only take so much rage, but man the headline just reeks of sexism. The idea that a girl CHOOSES stereotypically girly things is seen as a failure. Were they raising her gender-neutral in the hopes she would be as boyish as possible? So they could transition her for clout?

Imagine being ten or fifteen and seeing this article about yourself as a toddler, your parents lamenting your choices of clothing and toys as a failure. Fuck, if that doesn't make you want to opt out of gender, what will?

They know what she said. They count it as dangerous to admit that children shouldn't transition because it destabilizes the dogma that transition is always the 100% right decision for everyone.

Because if we start speaking up that teens shouldn't make these life-altering decisions, maybe those with autism (which number hugely among trans people) should also be safeguarded from rushing in to make their hyperfocus special-interest a surgical reality. And then what would the gender therapists, hormone peddlers and hack plastic surgeons do? Starve to death, I guess.

I've seen some choice bait on r/AskGayBros where trans men will (or those posing as them) will try to get gay men to admit they're not going to have sex with someone with a vagina... the bros have been pretty steadfast about recognizing those questions as a way to get the whole sub banned. I think men in general just aren't as worried about pleasing everyone and avoiding conflict as women are.

Especially LGBT women who have experienced discrimination and homophobia, they don't want to make anyone else feel that way. Men seem to care less and just tell the truth LOL.

That's why I think there will be big trans peak waves when these activists dare to call out straight men and say "If you wouldn't sleep with a pre-op trans woman then you're not straight, you're just a hateful bigot." Can't wait to watch that mess unfold!

And LOL at fox hunting! Trans people HATE that ideologically, furries are just as 'valid' as they are. You can't pull on that thread without the whole concept unravelling, just like when "trans racial" people pop up and people ask why that's bad but trans people are good.

Top comment from obvious TiM: "I wish the "prefers" narrative would drop. They're somebody's regular pronouns. Saying "prefers" gives people an option to ignore them or mistreat people asking them to use different pronouns than what is assumed."

God forbid we give people an option when interacting with us or talking about us when we're not even in the room! What, we want them to be... free? With their speech? Hmm then they might realise we're full of shit!

Glad you like it! Yeah I left off the obvious rights that nobody is actually fighting about. I hope this resource will show well-meaning libfems what they actually mean when they say #TransRightsAreHumanRights.

I think that hashtag is so manipulative because when you see it, your mind goes to the obvious stuff like "Of course trans people should have the right to vote, own property and get medical care! What monster would deny that??" But what they REALLY mean is they have the right to impose their gender performance on everyone, compel them to play along, and they get to silence anyone who points out the obvious trampling on other's rights as transphobia.

I'm using both sites but recruiting to Ovarit, not here. Unfortunately it looks really bad to wander into the Saidit homepage and see antisemitic conspiracies and such. Besides, I don't think GC is even on the homepage anymore because we 'attracted trolls' so I don't think the other users want us here either. Ovarit is female owned and the whole site is about the cause, so it looks more legit to me.

I'm sorry you couldn't get the volunteer job you wanted, but your approach to it was a sane, rational one!
