So apparently Smith is no longer homosexual as well as no longer a man?

Remember that in woke speech men can be women and nonbinary. So you can still be gay in practice.

Yeah, pretty sure the women and NBs he is willing to date all have a dick.

That or he is a fucking hypocrite who has been claiming homosexuality when he is in fact bisexual.

Remember when he won the Oscar and during his speech he said he was the first openly gay guy to win a music Oscar? And of course the internet lit up to remind him that Elton John won one first over twenty years earlier. Well, now he can claim he was the first openly NB pan-whatever. SUch a special snowflake!

I seriously doubt this guy is even as half way good as Elton John.

Also, Elton John has something invaluable that Sams Smiths clearly lacks: a sense of humor and ability to make jokes at his own expense. As this skit showing him being interviewed by Little Britain's "Daffyd the only gay in the village" in 2009 shows: https://youtu.be/x0zUOzkHwAE

My experience is that most people consider a sense of humor & ability to laugh at one's self to be highly attractive, desirable characteristics in dates & potential partners. But the sorts of traits Sams Smiths displays - self-pitying whinging, attention-seeking, narcissism, regressive sexism - not so much.

Yeah, I mean upthread you said that it's really hard to be single in London: while I am not 100% in agreement with it, I would say that the biggest problem Smith has in finding a partner is that he's fucking insufferable.

I think the only chance he has in having a relationship is to find an equally insufferable wokie, but I doubt it would work well in the long run because such a relationship would be incredibly toxic. Not to mention, I am fairly certain that even people like this, at one point, get tired of constantly kissing each other's ass (metaphorically). They are happy to have someone doing it to them, but doing it to others is hard work.

That or he can get an up and coming actor/singer who is willing to "date" him in exchange of visibility.

upthread you said that it's really hard to be single in London

No, I didn't say that. Said nothing like it. What I said most people over generations haven't found it difficult or impossible to find someone to date there:

Sams complains that finding someone to date in London is so incredibly difficult as to be basically impossible - which is the opposite experience of most human beings who've lived in or visited that metropolis of 9-10 million people for many generations.

Whether it's really hard or easy to be single in London or anywhere else is a separate issue entirely. Life as a single person can be difficult, easy or in-between depending on a whole bunch of factors that have nothing to do with one's ability to get/find a date. Also, lots of single people don't date for a variety reasons, including not being at all interested in it; not everyone desires to be coupled up.

No, sorry, I meant what you said, not that it's difficult to be single. I meant that in London it's not that hard to find a partner.

Do you think he meant he would only date trans women?

The sudden change in sexual orientation is confusing. I know it happens, but I somehow doubt this is a legitimate declaration of bisexuality. I guess we'll have to see if he does end up dating natal women.

Wow. How dare they - or the author of this article - assume "all genders" means man, woman, or non-binary.

“My mum worked, my dad was a househusband. My sisters are incredibly strong women.”

Totally not about sexist stereotypes, yall.

Everyone else reveals they’re not open to dating Sam Smith regardless of how they identify.

Interpret “they” in the above sentence whichever way pleases you the most.

I don't believe a single thing he says.

In one of Heinlein's works, there is a scene in which two people meet for the first time while wearing bulky environmental suits, with apparently one way visors and poor audio. One asks the other out. The other says wait, what sex are you? The first says oh, let that be a surprise. Guess we've found someone to reenact that one.

As numerous people have said elsewhere: *As long as they have a penis.

So basically he is bi. There was a question on tooafraidtoask about why people don't accept LGBT people and most of the responses where besides religious people, people often do; however people are greeting of the constant changing of words, having to remember pronouns and LGBT becoming LGBT with a bunch of other stuff.

[–]MarkTwainiac 13 insightful - 6 fun13 insightful - 5 fun14 insightful - 6 fun -  (0 children)

I think when he says he's open to dating a "woman" he means one with a dick and balls.

[–]worried19[S] 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Does anyone think Smith is legitimately bisexual? I know it's possible to come out as bi later in life, but he was an out gay man just a few years ago. I'm sure there are plenty of women who would sleep with him. I just have to question whether he has legitimate attraction to women.

Stating he would date a woman if he's not actually bisexual, is this internalized homophobia? Or is it internalized misandry (is that even a thing?) that he's saying he's no longer a man? I feel bad for him that he seems to have such turmoil over sex and gender, but I find his whole deal very confusing.

[–]MarkTwainiac 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I think Sams Smiths is saying he's so hard up that he's open to dating/shagging anyone who might be interested in hims. Sams complains that finding someone to date in London is so incredibly difficult as to be basically impossible - which is the opposite experience of most human beings who've lived in or visited that metropolis of 9-10 million people for many generations.

But no, I don't think anyone with any intelligence or understanding of human sexuality thinks Sams Smiths is legitimately bisexual. I don't think he is attracted to women; I don't think he's capable of even seeing women. He's an attention-seeking narcissist, sexist and misogynist who is quick to take umbrage and who seems like he might also be a fetishist. Not exactly qualities that most people are looking for in a date or life partner.

Or maybe his mental health issues are getting in the way of him having a relationship. He's a conventionally attractive man and a rich and famous one to boot. Theoretically, he should have no trouble getting dates.

To be fair to Smith, I don't think he's ever harmed anyone, has he? I guess I view him more as a lost soul. I feel sorry for him. It's pretty clear that he has issues that aren't being helped by the mainstream media playing into this fantasy that he's no longer male.

[–]Lavyebel 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don't think he's bi at all. He must be ok dating every gender as long as they have a dick. Basically it's same sex attraction, he only wants natal men, despite how they may identify. Actually, he can't call himself gay as he claims to be non binary and not a man. That's super confusing, but at the of the day, it's just a gay man with extra steps.

honestly his songs used to be enjoyable to listen to, but nowadays i'm reminded of this horsepiss whenever his voice comes on.

Wasn't he whining recently that nobody wants to date him? Wonder why? Could it be that completely embarrassing and tone-deaf quarantine pity-party he was having in his multi-million dollar mansion a few months ago...?

[–]Shesstealthy 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

That and the fact he's a fat effeminate gay man in a world where men like their men masculine. Which is its own set of problems.

[–]macaron 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Fat? He didn't seem fat in the last MV I saw of him... Did he get fat? lol

Googling reveals to me he's been quite slim and rather big...
