In the comments there is more info, the person was comparing going through the NHS vs people paying out of pocket for implants. Of course if you are using a private surgeon and paying out of pocket there isn't going to be a problem. Its essentially a cosmetic surgery and its ludicrous that someone would think a state run healthcare would act at the speed of private practice when someone is requesting what is essentially a cosmetic procedure.

They don't actually have that high of a suicide rate, if it was really that high there would be no trans people in a few years. The study that sold that lie was highly flawed. When compared to people with similar mental health issues they don't have a different suicide rate to other non-trans people with mental health problems. They actually have the same suicide rate post transition, too. Transition isn't "literally lifesaving" in other words.

Actually the 41% figure has been debunked - It was about self reported rates of suicidal ideation. Not even attempts or completed attempts. If there was an actual epidemic of trans suicides where would be tons of articles about it not just random articles from trans activist organizations. I saw something like this when Buttigieg (I'm sure I spelled his name wrong, idc) was running for pres - on tumblr people were calling him straight and a bunch of other people were like ???? and it turns out if you don't die your hair strange colors, have multiple piercings and sit a certain way in a chair you aren't gay. Oh god diagnosis priviledge. I mean there is something to that, kind of, if you have the money to doctor shop and actually get the tests that you need, that is sort of a priviledge. I have health insurance and getting my doctors to give any fucks about my problems is a uphill battle. But if you actually have serious mental health problems getting a diagnosis isn't that difficult. Its effective treatment that is hard. And none of that means you can self diagnose.

I'm subbed to the fakedisordercringe sub on reddit, its amazing to me how many people think this crap is cool. I don't have tourettes but I have mental health problems and a few real disorders that people also think its fun to fake (like POTS, I don't have POTS but I have a similar disorder called orthostatic hypotension). I suppose faking having these things is fun, but actually having them kind of sucks.

ETA - when I was going through school and college I remember being told that split personality or MPD wasn't actually a thing, that there wasn't very much evidence for this actually happening and if it did it was incredibly rare. IDK how we got from there to here, from the fake disorder sub it sounds a lot like people making OCs and cosplaying for attention.

If you search youtube for 'transvestigations" you'll find a bunch of videos dedicated to looking at celebs and deciding if they are trans or not. Some of them are interesting, some of them are clearly weird. Most tims pass better when they are younger, by the time they hit 25+ they start to look more manly and less androgynous and then don't pass as well. In the Im Poppy video he looks like a teenager and I wouldn't have thought he was male if I didn't know.

The original concept was coined so that black women or other POC women (but black women specifically) could have the words to talk about overlapping oppression, like both black and female, or black, female, and lesbian. I don't frequent men's bathrooms so I can't comment on the cleanliness or lack thereof. I can say that some women's bathrooms I've been to were just, like, completely wrecked. LIke for some reason entire rolls of TP unrolled and piled on the floor, one where someone threw the entire toilet seat cover pack (still in the cardboard holder) into the toilet, just complete animal stuff. I think for many people the feeling of wrongness that you feel doesn't necessarily mean that you are something else. Being or feeling wrong doesn't logically progress to "and that meant I'm something else". You can feel all sorts of feelings about your body without necessarily making the leap to "and therefore I'm something else". I don't get that leap also, like lovesloan says despite everything you don't really understand what its like to be a female.

Never realizing the whole time that his desire to transition was due to his libido, and that when he was on blockers and hormones his desire to live as a woman went kaput. I mean if I had to go along with trans dogma or lose my job I would probably say what I had to in order to stay employed. But in my view transgenderism is basically a delusion, a false idea that changing sex is possible, or that brains have a sex and that one has or can have the brain of a different sex.
