Just imagine if almost all of the decision makers and colleagues at your university didn't indulge this nonsense for years on end, leading to the insane narcissism you are now dealing with from this student who just wants to feel special. But they did, b/c to do otherwise is behavior only exhibited by ignorant bigoted troglodytes, not the enlightened geniuses who populate academia. They are better than those uneducated hicks twangin' on their banjos who are clearly incapable of understanding the vast spectrum of human gender identity and all that that encompasses.

Just imagine if the people in charge of education didn't have their heads stuck so far up their own asses how much better campus life would be these days.

A symbol ? Were you given instructions on how to pronounce it and what special meaning this symbol had to It, It being the person.

It was so specific that it would reveal too much but basically it was during a time where this student had the floor to ask a question and as an example they said something like "Hi everyone, I would like to be addressed as the Ampersand symbol. You can call me Ampersand."

I finished grad school and decided there was no way I could ever deal with academia ever again. I could not have dealt with a student that kept on changing names all semester, I probably would have made them pick one. Teaching is a ton of BS to start with, having students changing names is outrageous.
