Coping strategies. I think part of the reason they’re so badly behaved is that their delusions are paper thin and any questioning pokes holes in it.

For example, the absolute fuss made over “deadnaming”/misgendering can only be because it reminds them of the reality they’re trying to escape. See also, the constant need for “validation”, to the point that they have even developed their own creed/declaration of faith (“TWAW,TMAMaNBAV”).

I hate that I know what those acronyms mean.

If people weren't so desperate to protect this world's reputation and deny how evil it really is, this wouldn't be necessary. Mother Nature is abusive and for some reason everyone worships her. Even people who think they're religious ultimately worship nature above their god because they project nature onto their god. Even Christians do this, and anyone who points out the obvious contradiction between Christianity and nature is "gnostic".

No, they don't believe it. I've argued them into a corner before and they straight up just drop the charade and switch to an appeal to emotion.

"why can't you just let people be happy by allowing them to never examine their own stated beliefs? nothing bad ever comes from years of living a lie"

[–]Enemycupcake 14 insightful - 2 fun14 insightful - 1 fun15 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

No. That's why they need everyone else to play along, if they believed it themselves they wouldn't need so much outside affirmation.

I think some do believe it. But you shouldn't take alot of the stuff on Reddit at face value. I suspect half of the people on the pro-trans subreddits are trolling in the classic style of saying something utterly rediculous and laughing at the shit storm that follows.

[–]jet199 15 insightful - 3 fun15 insightful - 2 fun16 insightful - 3 fun -  (5 children)

Not just trolling.

Some people have a fetish for getting others to transition or castrate themselves. Particularly boys.

Some of the stuff coming out about WPATH 8 pretty much confirms this, especially the digging people have done into the people responsible for the "eunuch" section

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Oh wow, I hadn't heard about this before. That's some sick shit. https://notindenial.substack.com/p/on-wpath-and-the-eunuch-archives

That logic has been destroyed in the 2010s and given way to: A properly executed troll is indistinguishable from an actual person's belief system.

[–]OuroborosTheory 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

that's why I was never too fond of people invoking Poe's Law: yeah, it was a joke, but you've just buttressed a narrative that the Black Death arrived a century early and every record was hushed up/Black Americans weren't brought over from Africa/European women only gave birth to female clones until the patriarchal invasions of 2000 BC

[–]LyingSpirit472 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Exactly. Poe's Law has a corollary: The invoking of a joke/troll/satire will make two people come into existence: One who sincerely, unironically believes that, and one who sincerely, unironically believes something so insane that it makes the satire damn near conservative.

The best explanation I ever read was that MtF trans activists are men colonising womanhood. Society tells you as a straight white male that you're a pile of shit and responsible for all the world's ills. Turn yourself into a troon you not only immediately escape all of that but become top dog in the hierarchy of Marxist victimhood. By default you win, fucking every argument. Plus you get to live out your sexual fantasy of being a lesbian and it gives you a totally free pass to be a sexual (p)redditor (look up Jessica Yaniv if you are unfamiliar). Everyone's too scared to tell troon he looks like a freak and so in this new 'Emperor's new clothes' world has to recieve constant affirmation, further deepening the delusion.

Do they believe their own BS? This is a complicated question psychologically because human beings can make themselves believe anything that is convenient to maintain their worldview. Religion above all shows us this.

FtM trans I'm less sure about. I think there are different forces at play there.

[–][deleted] 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

men colonising womanhood.

I love this, use their own bullshit against them. I think we should apply the term appropriation as well. It fits.

So in the end, ever since the fabled 14 articles and 5 guys saga, every single bit of madness for those last ugly 8 years, it was one big narcissist civil war.

Narcissist women under the standard of feminism against narcissist men under the standard of troons.

All I ever wanted was to play vidya...

[–]OuroborosTheory 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I find them codependent on the radfems (the RF in the TE): one group was riding high 2014: they'd closed the mixed and men's shelters, fought expansion of the legal definition of rape, insisted that due process was inherently bad (Duke, Mattress Girl), stopped men's centers with 1% the women's center's budget--and they really didn't think that the Yanivs of the world wouldn't flock to that like flies to honey?

one group damns anything masculine and seeks to jerry-rig an excuse why after the fact; the other group also flees maleness, but doesn't understand it and so just does a lazy job at it

Insanity is a different thing than "believe / not believe". They're in their own bubble universe where the reality of life does not apply.

[–]catfishrising 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

The moment they stop believing, they realize that they've mutilated themselves into something that is repulsive to the vast majority of mankind.

  1. It's the woke olympics

  2. They do believe their own BS, because they say gender is a social construct separate from sex. So sexism with extra steps. And they oppress anyone with actual sex dysphoria who doesn't follow the narrative of "gender identity", as if that's so important and integral to a person's existence (again sexism).

[–]FlyingKangaroo 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I think they believe it - in some cases, it’s more of a coping mechanism but well... They’re fanatics. Even if they will have doubts, they will come up with “no, I must be a better ally, this is cis-patriarchy compulsive thinking”, they will always repeat the same stuff no matter what. They know any disagreement with the most inclusive stance mean someone is a Nazi bigot to them. I also think that u/ClassroomPast178 described it well.

They don't actually have that high of a suicide rate, if it was really that high there would be no trans people in a few years. The study that sold that lie was highly flawed. When compared to people with similar mental health issues they don't have a different suicide rate to other non-trans people with mental health problems. They actually have the same suicide rate post transition, too. Transition isn't "literally lifesaving" in other words.

[–]Airbus320 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

No

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Activists? Hell no, most activists around here seem to be the bored wealthy middle class retired housewives out with their boyfriends while their husbands are at work. They are seen at every woke lefty protest and gathering be it trans rights, gay pride, extinction rebellion, pro-EU, etc. Anything to glamorise their social media to make sure they win imaginary internet points.

[–]Newzok 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That stuff is so juvenile. I'd say it's autistic people taking their obsession to this out of proportion space, basically fanboying for everything trans. Or, they're astroturfing/shills.

[–]QueenBread 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Absolutely no. They don't believe that crap at all, because truly believing it would be clinical insanity. No one, not a single one of them believes that transwomen are women and all that. Well, apart from the genuinely clinically insane ones, but they are an extreme minority that would not be able to organize on social media to create angry inquisition mobs.

Which is why I hate them. They are perfectly aware they are saying a malicious lie for nasty, sexist and homophobic reasons.

[–]BluuDegenerate 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Some of it is narcissistic bait. They post something truly absurd but since its pro trans they either get loads of support and affirmation, or they get "TERFS" (normal people) responding reasonably, which they use to validate their own "oppression".

Both outcomes push them further into their delusion.

[–]deusex 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah, they hide the truly fucked up shit they believe in behind thinly veiled "jokes". If a troon tweets "God I want to rape cis women", they'll then tweet "lmao at all the transphobic people in my replies thinking I'm serious". But you know it's something they actually fantasize about. Fucking sick.

[–]TaseAFeminist4Jesus 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

A lot of people don't really analyze themselves or the things they claim to believe. They're what my parents call "stimulus-response machines." You say something or do something and they have a canned reaction to it already planned.

If it's a tit-man you're dealing with he may or may not know or acknowledge internally that he's just a pervert abusing a hormone recreationally. At least half of them (my guess) have just never thought any of it through honestly. They've strategically distracted themselves with constant connectedness and dopamine rushes instead of thinking.

[–]unbanned 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yes. They're mentally ill and just like other people suffering delusions. They live in their own bubble, and society is further feeding them into this warped "reality" instead of trying to help & treat them.

[–]proc0 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It's what you get when humanity's hubris of trying to become like gods meets the dogmatic thinking of religion. Their thinking has gone full circle, from rejecting religion and embracing science, to rejecting science and claiming something similar to having a soul. So yes they do believe it in many cases (obviously not everyone), because it's just like religion with their followers believe crazy things (plenty of examples, i.e. magic underwear, thetans, end of the world etc).

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Absolutely not, lol

That's why they have such a huge suicide rates.

[–]jet199 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I think it is a bit hopeful to think they don't believe a large amount of it.

A bit like western liberal atheists thinking that Muslims can't possibly actually believe all apostates should be killed and gays thrown off the highest place, let alone truly believe in heaven and hell.

No, lol, they really do believe it all. Even when they leave they religion they are still paranoid they might go to hell even though they don't believe in it anymore.

[–]Q-Continuum-kin 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Some do some don't. Some are actually just painfully stupid. It's also a refusal to analyze their own arguments in order to avoid feeling cognitive dissonance.

Some of it is a neo religion and they have the same type of nonsense arguments which traditional religious people make.

[–]makesyoudownvote 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

On a surface level, yes many of them actually do believe their own B.S.

But leftism like any religion or cult uses a series of thought prevention tools to stop people from being able to question these beliefs fully.

People who are brought up left wing are often sufficiently indoctrinated that even when presented with absolute proof or evidence that their beliefs make no sense, will likely refuse to acknowledge it and will double down and/or dismiss the evidence as heretical (bigoted, racist, transphobic etc.).

[–]handbananasrevenge 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Why do you think they get off so much on forcing others to play along with their fetish?
