I read the comments, the "gold star only" gay men and lesbian women are odd. I have gay male friends who as teens or young adults in the 1970s or early 1980s had sex with women as they had no idea how to meet bisexual and gay men as sexual partners-they were in denial, closeted, or scared and too young to go to bars and did not even buy or read gay/LGB magazines or newspapers to place personal ads or porn magazines, or out of familial/societal pressure dated and had sex with women, they told me how sex with women just showed them how they are not sexually attracted to women at all, any woman. They did not find sex with women nasty but it was basically little better than jerking off or masturbating with someone else's body and they had to think about men, male bodies to get hard, stay hard, and finish.

I have met people who are trans and they lived the majority of their lives as the sex they were born, and had decades of therapy and a diagnosis long before they ever made the choice to take hormones or have any surgery at all. This is not happening with children or teens, or very young adults.

I also know girls and boys who I grew up with who when they were children imitated the opposite sex by putting on clothes for the opposite sex, boys putting on makeup or nail polish, or even said aloud how they wanted to be the opposite sex or wondered what it would be like to have the genitals and body of the opposite sex. None of these children, now adults are trans at all.

I am bisexual, was around in the 1980s and 1990s in Philadelphia, where it was open but only in certain sections of the city and most LGB people were discreet or out to family and friends but not to random strangers or to most people at work. I had heard of transsexuals, but did not meet any until 2003 and then it was only one or two in a very large city of millions of people and a small almost tiny LGB scene.

I knew when they were alive, or know multiple bisexual and gay people who were at the Stonewall demonstrations.
