The thing about the social media bans is that we don’t know what they know. We don’t know what the FBI has asked of them. While I’m normally against suppression of free speech (I mean ffs I been banned off every platform for saying men aren’t women and don’t belong in women’s sports or prisons, if I get banned for that, trying a coup and attempting to start a civil war seems bannable).

I think we just need to wait. I had a high level security clearance in the military. Things can move quick and typically not everyone knows what’s going on or why for quite some time. I’m only speculating, but I’m guessing they know some things we do not, and they have their reasons.

Telling lies and deliberately misleading masses of people should have consequences, as should designing weapons that destroy human psychology by keeping people outraged to keep them glued to scrolling their apps longer, to generate more ad revenue. It would be a much bigger reply than I’m prepared to do on my phone this morning, but the very short and simplified version is that early (young) porn use, and excessive porn use is correlated with higher rates of sexual offenses, and higher severity of attacks. It further fuels paraphilic disorders as well. It normalizes abuse that traumatizes victims.

That’s not even talking about the ED many young men are dealing with due to porn addictions, or how much they are needing to abuse their partners now to reach orgasm.

I’m only going to speak for myself, but I wouldn’t maintain friendships that require me to gaslight myself to feel accepted. The friendships are conditional and transactional, which doesn’t sound much like friendship at all.

I have plenty of friends who I disagree with on major issues. One of my best friends is very religious. I am an atheist. We disagree on so much. And yet we have very productive and respectful conversations, find common ground, and still love one another at the end of the day. Neither of us demands the other change her views.

Find better friends? (I realized you said it’s hard in your area and you have my empathy. I’ve managed to find better friends since I was canceled and my mental health is so much better now.)

I went along with it to be nice, figuring I just didn’t understand it. That said, I constantly said to my husband, “I don’t think we got this right. Something about this just feels way off. We aren’t where we think we are on this issue.” So I guess it’s safe to say I was always primed to peak, I just needed more information.
