The site having removed or temp/permanently suspended a plethora of accounts like those of Fred Sargeant, Helen Staniland, Graham Linehan, LGBA Canada, Meghan Murphy- mostly for "transphobia", I find this tweet by Twitter itself to be high comedy.

This is the state of left leaning politics in 2021. They'll ban anyone or anything they don't like, but do it to them, and it is some crime against humanity. Do I feel bad for Nigerians who may depend on twitter as a communication and information resource, sure. The irony of twitter being upset at an actual gov't. banning them while they continually act as a shadow gov't. in the realm of speech is hilarious.

They permanently banned me for saying something that is true that I also happen to be a literal expert in. I hope every country bans them. :)

I work treating involuntarily committed sex offenders. My comment said something like, “We use those same drugs to chemically castrate sex offenders” replying to a post about puberty blockers. Permanently banned for it. Literally my field of expertise, but what would I know?

How dare you point out the truth? Truly the most reprehensible thing you can do in this day and age, apparently, especially when you're an unstable misogynist into child grooming who insists he needs to be coddled and have his autogynephilia validated.

I hope people like Miranda Yardley who have been banned from Twitter are screenshooting this and plan to use this as evidence in the inevitable class actions against Twitter that will happen. By Twitter’s own logic, when they ban someone, they are depriving them of human rights. Twitter, the self-admitted transgressors of trans human rights. Beautiful.

I’m sure their legal team would be reeling over this. I love the smell of estoppel in the morning.

Nigeria is lucky. Can the rest of the world get in on this ban?

Uganda has banned Twitter during the lead up to their elections.

Facebook as well.

As far as Uganda’s government are concerned, Silicon Valley companies are tools for American imperialism. I can’t blame the Uganda government. They don’t want any election interference going on, knowing that sites like Facebook and Twitter can ban candidates from their platforms.

I have no sympathy for Twitter. The Nigerian government is brutal and corrupt, but I certainly do not want to live in a country governed by Twitter. Besides, Twitter's just mad that they can’t indoctrinate the Nigerian population into adopting a neoliberal ideology, so I actually support the ban. Dissidents in Nigeria should use alternatives like Gab, Minds, VK, Telegram, BitChute and Odyssey instead of Twitter.

Sometime I bet the people who run Twitter don’t understand.

I've been banned enough now that it doesn't hurt anymore.

It's cute, the tears. 😭

Do you keep making new accounts or give up on twatter alltogether? I never had one and I’m still not sure whether I want one at all.

[–]PatsyStoneMaverique 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I've never been on Twitter. It seems like a cesspit honestly.

I was banned from Jezebel, Gawker, Deadspin, r/bisexuals, r/LGBT, and a gay website women aren't supposed to be on- all over transgender critical posts.

Good. Fuck neoliberalism, and fuck Twitter and its ilk.
