I now only fondly remember the few years, in the last decade, when it seemed like being gay was going to be safer, it was easier for people to come out, and we had some rights we hadn't had before; I was thrilled for people in their teens and twenties getting to come of age in a much better environment. And then...this. I feel for you. I'm not looking but I imagine I'd find a lot of this as well. I see what some of my friends are doing (to themselves).

And I really don't know what's up with the blue / pink / whatever hair dying—and I live in a city where plenty of that has gone on for many years—suddenly becoming a TQ+ uniform, but it's to the point where I almost want to advise my serious, mature friends to quit coloring their hair that way for a bit, lest they be...misgendered...as a cult-joiner.

Excuse me while I take an ice bath; my blood is boiling.

In case anyone thinks women cannot be sexual predators, there ya go. I have seen this type of shit with my own eyes from a non-trans woman or two (think Cluster B); they know exactly how much power they have and who is more likely to be believed, and they milk it and it's scary AF, so I feel for this guy. Holy cow. Hope he manages to get through this intact. Wonder how many other people that person has harassed. Hopefully the grapevine will work this one and put people on alert in a discreet way at the very least. That's super predatory and awful.

And sadly, I am in agreement that he is on the likely losing side of this. But I sure hope not.

Don't try to make sense of someone with a personality disorder. It will just crack your brain.

The very best advice I've ever heard or offered about this is that they are much easier to understand when you realize their emotional development stopped somewhere between the ages of two and six. That doesn't make it better, but it frames it more accurately.

It's such an out-of-date idea that gay means "opposite sex" it means opposite gender. we need a new language for genital preference if it's even actually a thing.

And this one can't even figure out what the word should mean in the first place, before breaking it. And then goes on to question the innateness of sexual orientation, it appears, first by calling it a preference and then suggesting it doesn't exist. Irish lesbian invited to a game of chicken by the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) over complaint about unremarkable tweets by wafflegaff in LGBDropTheT

[–]wafflegaff[S] 25 insightful - 2 fun25 insightful - 1 fun26 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Speech transcript excerpt (linked above, go read it):

The complainant cannot be allowed to continue to weaponize police forces across the country, to silence voices he disagrees with, whilst he capers and gloats and feigns terror because he’s triggered by tweets.

He is a bully. I do not pander to bullies. I do not cower before bullies. I put them on notice, and I employ all legal means to have them stopped.

My solicitor informs me that there are various channels open to me, so the complainant can expect to hear from me in due course.

But it isn’t just the complainant I’m putting on notice. It is the police service of Northern Ireland, it’s Stonewall, and it’s the massive fraud they call the Diversity Champions Scheme.

The police have questions for me? Good. I have questions for them.

Questions like, “What influence does being a member of the Stonewall diversity champions scheme have on the way you police this issue?”

Questions like, “When I reported death and rape threats to you, you told me to withdraw from the debate and stop tweeting, so did you offer the same advice to the man who complained against me?”

Questions like “what underpinned your decision to interview me under caution for tweets about child protection, whilst you completely ignored direct threats on my life.”

I have a long list of other questions for the PSNI, and they can expect to hear them from me in the form of Freedom of information requests in the coming days.

My solicitor is helping me explore other possible actions, including a complaint to the ombudsman.

In the meantime, I have a message for the PSNI.

I’m politely declining your invitation to be interviewed voluntarily under caution at the station.

Come and arrest me if you want to ask me your questions. Here I am.

I don't remember gays ever calling straight people homophobic for not wanting to sleep with them.

That detail has always fascinated me about the current insanity. In trying to conflate themselves with / shove their way into the spaces belonging to a group (LGB) that rationally advocates for their own rights and leaves alone people who wouldn't be interested in them, these people seem to have entirely missed the fact that gay rights don't include bullying and raping people.

But many of them do not want to wake up. Guess what: It doesn't matter if, statistically, the number of such abusers is small, when it's you who is getting targeted, abused, not believed, and having your life ruined. Once in a while a person like this even drives their victim to end their life. It is not a game or theoretical. These people are real.

I hope, because I am so disgusted with my woke associates at this point, that what's going on here is that there's a little tiny inkling of realization emerging for them now that they are complicit in enabling this and forcing it down our throats. I really want them to be feeling that right now. That "oh shit" moment.

Then get over it and help us like they should have been all along.

Interestingly, when I found the original just now, the most upvoted comment thread was from someone giving this idiot a thorough lecture. See the archive link I posted in another comment.

I know a couple of trans women that I sense worry about passing, who very definitely do not. They play along when topics like women's hormone cycles come up, but don't add any personal experiences, of course. And I politely don't walk them into the same conversations I would normally have with women about such things, because I know they aren't women and therefore can't go there for real.

Neither of them is an asshole or spewing TRA bullshit so mostly I feel protective of them and cringe on their behalf about what's going on in their neck of the woods. It's got to be pretty scary to be a decent trans person right now, and that's something I've gleaned from a few I've read on Twitter. I'd worry about passing, too, if other people who identified the way I did were busy making complete asses of themselves, claiming to speak for all trans people, and causing a backlash. It's a hell of a trap to be in—not passing, while watching nutjobs smear your entire demographic as rapey, narcissistic bullies.

Which is hilarious given how often we are expected to want them because we're bisexual.

Somewhere I have an article saved in which some TRAs literally brag about infiltrating groups to take them over or shut them down. Can't find it at the moment. But yes. This is a sport to them. Because:

How did we wind up with an entire generation of little narcissists

Just after some cursory Googling on a hunch, I suspect this free chapter of a book from 2017 might be illuminating.

I completely agree. (I am an American, btw.) The thing is, you can't fight nature forever. Detransitioners prove this.

And if we don't keep going then those who realize they were just hurting themselves won't know where to look for support.

But in order for it to work, everyone has to agree to stay silent and validate.

Excellent summary.

One note:

It would just be rude and awkward and it would cause the relationship to implode.

Of course, these are not real, healthy, reciprocal relationships in which the other person actually exists as a separate human being to the narcissist; you as a child, and everyone around a narcissistic trans person, are just props in the play going on in their heads.
