No. I’m not trans. I am a man who likes men.

By the way, I wonder how many transgender people are actually just gay but were convinced that they could "pass as straight" by getting irreversible cosmetic surgery to make them "look" the opposite sex.

Exactly what I thought. They're projecting

They don’t want to admit that they’ve wasted tens of thousands of euros or dollars (of their own money or taxpayers' money) on irreversible procedures that have only served to make them less attractive and cause them physical pain. Only for heterosexuals to still not want to date them.

How the fuck can someone be “not cis” without TRANSistioning??? They will really say the most nonsensical bs...

Everything is valid, because god forbid anyone make an explicit definition for anything out of the fear of INVALIDATING and GATEKEEPING, the woke boogeymen. 👻😱

This is the end result if participation trophies... everyone thinks they deserve to be in every group...

Whoever thought up participation trophies should be vilified by history.

Thankfully, this wasn’t a thing at my school. Hopefully my school hasn’t adopted this crap since I left.

Idk, people make a big fuss about them, but I don't think I was much affected by participation awards. I think most children intuitively know when they haven't earned something. And place the personal value of the award at the same level as the effort they put into getting it.

[–]fuck_reddit 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Idk. As much as I’d like that to be the case, there are too many people my age whining about fairness and not being accepted and the like. They seem incapable of recognizing that differences in competence exist...

I think most children intuitively know when they haven't earned something.

The key word in that sentence is 'most'. Most children, as you said, would probably just smile meekly and accept their worthless award that they know they didn't earn, but some children lack the self-awareness to feel embarrassed by that, and would genuinely think 'Wow, I am so good at the egg and spoon race!'

A queer theorist's dream. Identity categories that are nonsensical because there's no clear criteria as to who's what. That is a major component of queer theory activism--trouble the identity categories.

On the flip side, those people who are fetishizing identities, well if you let everyone into your identity group, then your identity becomes meaningless.

I find the modern crusade against gatekeeping (not just in this context) hilarious, considering we're also in the age of accusing things of being cultural appropriation.

So glad to see I'm not the only person who has noticed that those two things don't really work together

So they don’t want gays or GNC people to exist. Libfems are basically right wingers dipped in koolaid at this point.

There was wave of feminism after 2nd?

I thought it was just women fighting for men rights, so can't be 3rd wave of feminism or any feminism at all ;)

And I saw that comment already few times from trans activists, mostly from transwomen about gay men. That "gay men are gay as consolation prize of not being able to become a woman". That was super ugly.

[–]our_team_is_winning 15 insightful - 1 fun15 insightful - 0 fun16 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

"gay men are gay as consolation prize of not being able to become a woman".

TRA actually say that???? Wow, they don't get "homosexual" at all do they. Sexual perversion scares me, it really does, esp. now that it's been legalized in the workplace. "Become a woman" -- only if you were born a girl and grow up, mister.

Oh my god, that is awful.

That, if nothing else, should wake people up. Jesus christ...

I'm definitely going to use that one, thank you.

<She now sees her life as a gay man as a ‘personal misdiagnosis’>

A gay man thinks being a gay man is a diagnosis??? I can't take any more of female pronouns being used for men.

I'm not trans and I'm not cis either. I refuse to participate, and using either label on me guarantees you a swift kick in the gonads.

Die mad about it lol

This is just the old homophobic 19th/early 20th century explanation for homosexuality called "Invert Theory."

This is exactly the kind of "logic" and warping of reality that made me reject my womanhood years ago. If "cis" meant you deeply feel like a gender, and trans meant you "deeply feel like a gender" then what about me who didn't really feel anything? I truly thought it was a sense I was missing (like color) that most people had. "Cis" is a made-up, invented concept, and most people are not "cis". I figured out much later that "cis" was just a word trans people use to not have to say "normal". The whole concept behind it is fucked though. I thought being ssa was abnormal, and not "feeling gender" was abnormal, and my "friends" in the QSU didn't give a rat's ass about internalized homophobia, or societal homophobia, or sexism. They live in a made up world, constructed by words. I am grateful I never transitioned or did anything to my body. My heart breaks for other women I know IRL, and women I don't but have read about (like Keira Bell) who followed this sick rhetoric to its logical conclusion and altered their bodies permanently. This is so fucked. The trans "community" has no business leading or being in contact with any kids, teenagers, or confused 20-somethings, ever.
