For a hot second we did, until the narcissists realized they could attach themselves to us for attention and power. It was a lovely and fleeting moment in time...some time around 10+ years ago. Bit of a blur now. Fond memory.

I think the mistake really was just adding the T which had nothing to do with sex attraction

The sad thing is this article would be treated like hate speech by the modern lgbt community. They would say things like "im not going to read all that shit", "go to hell bigot" or the same old overused phrase "PROTECT TRANS KIDS"

I'm just 31 and I remember being a teenager struggling in a homophobic environment. Lgbt youth from today are completely different. It's weird that I suddenly became a right winger...I would like to help them but its impossible.

I guess the world doesn't change. Back then we were indoctrinated by religion and harmful traditions. The problem persists, and it got worse. New forms of indoctrination and discouraging critical thinking.

Me too. I'm not LGBTQ+ and wasn't right wing but the left made me right wing. It's funny how anyone that made a concise or logical viewpoint get labelled as a rightwinger or hate speech. I might as well join their side by that point!

Except that actual right-wingers, subsets of them at least, also harbor weird cult fantasies and tons of ignorance. This is why if you cruise GC Twitter you'll see "politically homeless" pop up fairly regularly in people's bios.

Oh for sure every side has that. The issue though is I see these extremists and cultists parts of the leftwing are actually on the center stage and no one seems to pay mind. Sometimes they even celebrate it. I'll never forget the left's attempt to humanize the transgender shooter, ever.

I find the reason most don't want to transition to rightwing is the baggage associated with it and how your coworkers and friends will see you. It makes me think these "politically homeless" people might actually be secretly rightwing most of the time.

It's very weird to watch lefties fail to see their own culpability and promote messed-up policies. Yes. Definitely. I will never get used to it and don't want to.

Regardless, nobody is obliged to pick a "side" in this case; thinking of politics that way is just convenient and habitual. We can actually just think for ourselves and abstain from declaring allegiances. Many of the people who call themselves this really are politically homeless. I've interacted with them and watched what they post. So am I. I prefer reality. It isn't as subjective as many who are trying to promote unhealthy policies assert.

There's a whole lot of groupthink going on on both sides of the political spectrum. And neither side wants to admit they're doing it, too.

Trans people already have their own flag, but apparently, that’s beside the point; they need to take over the gay Pride flag, and gay people have to like it.

It's crazy how gay people don't notice or take a stance against this. They just seem to be taking in. "Oh, trans people are now a third of our flag. Whatever".

It seems the whole movement is just about trans people now. Let's also stop hearing about the lesbians that have been coarced into sex by trans women and women who feel unsafe because of the actions of trans women.

Read the history of this sub more. Or go read GC / LGB Twitter. (Or, if they weren't all deleted, you could read lots of this on Reddit, but Reddit becoming TQ+ captured is why we ended up over here instead.) We've made our positions well known for years and "gay people" isn't a monolith. But yes, it's still crazy that many LGB people have not figured out what the long con is here yet, I agree.

Ah of course I did take into consideration this sub, when I say gay people I mean the majority of them. The trans people of course are taking notice of these movements and shutting down everything they can.

I also am baffled when gay people tend to ignore trans people doing certain things because it would "hurt the LGBTQ+ cause". This includes being neutral towards the people who are trying to humanize the transgender shooter.

I can at least excuse LGBTQ+ people on places like Brazil or Japan not taking a stance on this because pulling one of those trans shenanigans (if you get my gist) is way harder with those cultures.

I think it's a combo of gay people who don't yet realize what's going on and / or are scared to openly say anything. The number of LGB people who have taken to Twitter in the last year or so to voice our interest in divorcing TQ+ has been steadily growing, however. The Reddit version of this sub had something like 23,000 (don't quote me, I'm not going to dig up the proof just now, but it was over 20k) members when Reddit nuked it, as well. There are a lot more people who object to this than are ready to say so publicly yet. Meanwhile more and more people come onto Twitter and say "why don't LGB people do something about this," which is tiring because hey, we've been on the frontlines of this for many years. But we aren't the majority and we have to deal with homophobia, misogyny, and abuse from our own "side" if we say anything.

That's changing but ONLY because we've been pushing on this for years already. It's a marathon.
