While nonbinary is sometimes abbreviated as NB, that abbreviation was in actuality coined by Black activists to refer to non-Black — or “NB” — people of color when discussing their experiences of racism. Rather than co-opting this term, ENBY is seen by many as the better acronym choice.

Oh, but they can co-opt woman, lesbian, and any other letter convenient to them? The double standards, I swear.

Facts. The word sapphic being used instead of lesbian makes me mad just as much as lgbtq+. People should just say it is either lesbian or bisexual rep when it is to make it easier for those particular communities to find but they don't want us to since they want to be "inclusive" by making it hard for us and therefore being the opposite of what they claim to be.

Why can’t lesbian just be female homosexual? by CuntWorshiper in Lesbians

[–]CatsOrGoHome 12 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 0 fun13 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

My annoyance is that, even in so called “lesbian spaces” I have to be thinking of who is actually lesbian and who is not because everyone else already went so far at turning ‘lesbian’ into political statement, hobby, fetish, moral choice, trauma cope, sexy attention magnet or whatever. It seems lesbianism is everything but female homosexuality. Lesbians are not only rare on “open world” they are also rare on “lesbian spaces”, that’s the annoying depressing thing. But of course, it’s too politically incorrect so you to ever say it out loud.

This right here and the rest of what you said have summarized what I feel too. People here are assuming you are attacking rape victims when you are criticizing the fact a lot of "lesbians" just have a problem with men due to their trauma. I know this is a general internet problem, but I wish people here would get some basic reading comprehension. If you are an actual lesbian, you would immediately understand what she is trying to say.

The funny part of that thread is that they focus on the most tiny, obscure, crazy people that even we don't agree with, a minority among us, but when we question them on what insane things they say, a majority among them, they say that is just a few people. They always accuse us of the things they do.

I wish we could be depicted as normal people under this current climate. Recently, I've started to watch one show I watched when I was little called Stargate Universe. I feel you. When I peaked I basically peaked lgbt. I was so upset by the amount of brainwashing I had been exposed to and disappointed in myself for retweeting harmful things about my own community. The amount of gaslighting we are treated with is unbelievable. Every single letter and their mother hates lesbians with so much passion and vitriol, that it feels like getting hit by a car when you realize. Lesbians are constantly fed that everything is unicorns and rainbows in our community by people pretending to be us, that lesbians think it is and can't believe when it is not so and wake up to the abuse we receive.

Yikes at that entire thread. While some had some self-awareness, they'd then start to be lesbophobic. :/ If you only are ranting about your hate for men and not your love of women, lesbians are going to pick that up and run for the hills. We avoid those bisexuals like the plague, not just the ones who cheat.

Also, lol when she admitted she'd vet bi women for the same reasons we do. That is the real reason bisexuals complain when we don't date them, though most would never say it.
