Thankfully, not many do, which is a good thing. "Palestinians" are the same type of cancer as "peaceful refugees" are to Europe, with the only difference being they are actually contained. Their purpose, however, is literally similar, and those who fund them are the same people who fund the Europe "refugee" attack - which often overlap with those funding radical marxism in the west.

But of course, it's TEH JUICE who are funding all of that, including the Palestinians ROFL

The Serverless Revolution Has Stalled by magnora7 in Internet

[–]Extract 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I believe one of the main reasons Serverless will never be more than a low-tier niche is the combination of the following:

  1. In the end, you are just renting well maintained server farms (well, a specific percentage of operational time of some of the servers in them). There is absolutely no appeal for large technology-based companies do this once they can (the following is the lowest scale example) afford to maintain their own servers, while potentially renting a few offsite backups in other areas of the world (again, this is just the lowest-scale architecture starting at which Serverless is always the worse option).

  2. Existing solutions are extremely over-engineered. It can be excused with "officially planning for the use-case where maximum scalability is required", but it's almost certainly a pretense to sell "certifications", aka "explaining our own convoluted badly documented mess".
What this actually means is that many SWE's who are good enough to learn to use Serverless effectively, can learn any other framework that allows building distributed systems across server nodes with equal effort. Why would I base my whole business on your vendor locked, sub-optimized dumpster when I can do the same on an infinitely scalable VM networks, that can be ported to literally any vendor who supports $5/mo VMs (or, you know, self hosted if my company is large enough)?

[–]Extract 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I was just referring to the fact he posted this quote from the video just published here by the same OP.

But if you do watch the video, you'll see that while alcohol wasn't what caused poverty/malnutrition, it's the systematic social pressure (on the peasants) to consume Vodka is largely what created a feedback loop of poverty and alcoholism.
The business of selling Vodka to peasants was so profitable, by the way, that the ruling class made themselves a monopoly in that business, often granting production rights as exceptional rewards to nobility (as it was just that profitable).
I could go more about this, but it's all in the 10 minute video.

Oh, sure, Trump is a businessman who can play the same game. I didn't meant to imply Saidit is objectively doing bad right now.

But, judging by activity I observe here vs there, even just the upvotes and large subs, it seems they currently have more of it.
Search trends are one thing, but there are other metrics for growth - word of mouth never worked better than coordinated advertisement (even when it is, too word of mouth - but directed, focused one, based on an actual strategy).

Sure, I believe Saidit will keep growing - but as it stands, Ruqqus will overtake it, for its more passionate userbase if nothing else.
Not that this is a bad thing, by the way - more options are indeed always good.
But, if this site consolidates its place as the "one of the alternatives" while Ruqqus is "the Alternative", the new users will dry out, and the content will start becoming more stale - a process that will take months (maybe a year or two), but will eventually happen unless you actively prevent it.

Hell, you can look around for existing HCQ measures against malaria. The dosages there have been used for years. Why, exactly, are the same dosages "dangerous" now?

And, if it's so dangerous in general, why is it sold over the counter in most of the world? Why do citizens of countries like Iran and India get the freedom to choose which slightly risky medication they use, but Americans don't?

Thanks for finally providing the link.

Now that you have provided claims based on evidence, I can finally respond that claiming the other doctors are wrong because this one says the same thing is guild by association, a logical fallacy.

If you actually listen to the vid I linked, you can see those doctors refer to a legitimate, peer reviewed paper.
Also, you will hear about democratic states granting pharmacists the authority to override doctor prescription of HCQ.
Would they really be doing that if it was ineffective? Come on, any sane person who has been following the recent news knows they'd gladly let the people take the meds and die, then have a field day in the media how Trump is to blame by promoting it.
Instead, they do anything they can to block people from buying and taking it. Why is that?

Nah, it isn't. But nice of you to agree he is a doctor after up-voting a different user implying the opposite literally minutes ago in a different thread.

You seem to be really interested in discrediting this video without providing any actually evidence to the contrary.

Here is a nice Tim Pool video with actual facts to support his claims about the subject, which much more than those few people trying to discredit this video on here have provided so far.

I know what can theoretically be done (and it's a nice compilation), but - in practice, what would a 3d web page be? Could you give some examples of whole pages that use mainly 3d modules (and not a web version of a desktop app like Fusion 360)?

Car semi-automation can actually work, as long as there is good network coverage - have a single human operator center (say, 50 operators) per X cars (for example 10,000), who can take control of the vehicle once it us "unsure" of the road. This would be a subscription based service, of course.
The fallback to this would be the cars slowing down, and eventually stopping, if the drivers do not take manual control.

[–]Extract 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I know for a fact of a few companies in my country working on them for a few years now - and the current results are already close enough to human to be able to offer those vehicles, if not the countless regulations in place.

So, I agree that in 10 years (even 5) there will be many options - I do not, however, think those options will be actually legal in most countries for another 15-20 years.

Create No-JavaScript friendly sites by [deleted] in Internet

[–]Extract 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Ok, I understand privacy concerns, but this is simply insane.

At the modern day and age, anything even slightly scalable operates on JS.
Any web app is running on JS.
Those "half the sites on the internet" that are unusable without JS? Those are basically all the sites except for a few walking dinosaurs, and a ton of landing pages and similar static content.
Sorry, as much as I dislike the fact, the web is no longer usable without JS. Moreover, there are countless more grave privacy concerns on other layers, such as the ISP, or your data being tracked and distributed via seemingly unrelated sites.
Asking to sacrifice JS now is the same as asking countries to waste billions to "help combat climate change" when not only would it cripple their economy, but in fact even if they reduced their pollution to zero, the reduction would still be a drop in a bucket compared to China/India, thus insignificant on a global scale.

"Hate speech" isn't heard because it doesn't exist.

It's a deliberately meaningless dog whistle invented by SJWs to label any speech they disagree with.
Notice how before the current generation of snowflakes, say, back in the 80th-90th (and most of the 00s), nobody used that made-up word, even in regards to neo-nazis (again, real ones, not the bastardized meaning of the word now) and the like.

"nah it should" let me stop you right there.
The forum owners decide what topics it should or shouldn't include. The only thing anybody else decides is whether those topics are to their linking enough to use the forum.
It's the same concept as "Freedom Of Speech" not granting you the ability to enter a library and start playing Hard Metal - while it's your right to do so in the public square, it's not your right to use it disrupt a part of the public square dedicated to something else.

You are not a hypocrite.

A free speech forum can still decide on the range of topics it wants to cover. If it doesn't want to cover porn, but you are free to speak of any other topic, it's still a free speech board, as long as other topics are not selectively censored based on things unrelated to the decided range of discussion topics.

Check out this resource thread on shill tactics and this post becomes much more clear to you.

1) Identify division point (some people are ok with porn, others aren't).

2) Ask an "innocent" question as to the length of the boundaries related to this point ("So no porn allowed? Maybe just a bit? How about tits only?").

3-a) Get sympathetic response, push the boundaries farther, repeat the above (on a seemingly unrelated account) later on.
3-b) Get hostile response - wait a few days, then go cry about "the uncivil community" for defending its rules and their boundaries with passion.

Whether he did it on behalf of others or for his own coomer agenda is a different question, but the fact remains.
