Someone mentions something that seems dubious? Not to worry, the AR has already fact-checked it for everyone in the group.

Fuuuck. Your prediction sounds freakishly plausible.

Something just as simple as this, but almost as concerning, are default news push notifications that you already see on smartphones and smart TVs. Most of these notifications are pure propaganda, but they're sent straight to people without their prior consent, and most people don't bother to turn them off (or don't know how).

Combine that with AR, and you have people receiving their daily propaganda the second they wake up, right in front of their eyes.

Do you have an idea what year AR will become standard btw?

And i'm trying to implement some 3d-webpages right now. LMAO ...

What's a 3d-webpage?

Like, literally an SPA that uses WebXR with a fallback to 2/2.5D for regular users?

No. In my case its "simpler" but i can't tell right now because this will become part of our business.

Its only accessible from our intranet for tests right now (and i'm in early alpha: more or less a test itself) and it will take me at least 4 weeks to get it into to a level so i'm satisfied. But even this is not enough, bc. i'm bad in usability (keyboard fan here :) ). Maybe i get back to you when i know more about it myself which i will derive from how its used.

Actually, if it's a unique characteristic of your business, you shouldn't say it here at all unless you are fine with the risk of being doxxed.

Its way less unique than you may think. It is not what we are going to sell. I did some research beforehand.

If so, I'm again really curios what 3d web page means.

You can do a lot of stuff. Technical possibilities are only limited by the frameworks you may use. I'm good at interfaces between programs, so in its last consequence, its only limited by your imagination: https://saidit.net/s/programming/comments/5qb6/20_interactive_3d_javascript_libraries_frameworks/

I know what can theoretically be done (and it's a nice compilation), but - in practice, what would a 3d web page be? Could you give some examples of whole pages that use mainly 3d modules (and not a web version of a desktop app like Fusion 360)?

I won't put here, where i got my inspiration from. Sry on this one.

I can really see this happening, and it would affect everything. Like the OP said, AR will give people the ability to do things outside their expertise. This will lead to less demand for certain workers or industries. I could also see AR affecting dating, relationships and sex.

Imagine if people are so used to it they essentially can't function without it. Then one day the whole system is down for whatever reason - maintenance, software failure, intentional disruption, etc.
