In general, I agree but confidence is really important and shouldnt be dismissed.

I think people are like Christmas trees. Clothes, hairstyle, grooming, odors, posture etc are the ornaments, and they make the tree look better. If you have a Charlie Brown Christmas tree, there's only so much you can do with it, however some decorations will help.

Basically, we all get dealt a hand in life but we still play the cards and the game. Height is something we cant change, but "clothes make the man" and they make the woman too.

Don't be fat and exercise a lot is good advice for anyone, even from a general health point of view.

Uh, the fact it's all based on a gigantic cultural mythos that pretends we aren't just animals? Every single time people have run dating simulations or interactions, done more than just ask people their opinion, they consistently find the overwhelming factor is attractiveness.

I can't argue with these sentences, however doesn't this basically agree with what the OP wrote? What the OP listed are things are attractive to some people. Voice, scent, posture, clothes, hairstyle, being "comfortable" with oneself (aka confidence), ethics/morals are things people find attractive about others. Would a man find a woman attractive if she has an annoying voice, she smells bad, slouches excessively, wears ugly clothes, has an unattractive hairstyle, an annoying personality and bad morals?

I'm being 100% honest. It was truly a coincidence that I made my post moments before the other person made their post.

I'm not calling for an end to free speech. I was just asking why the criticism is not directed at Israel or the politicians or the media.

Since I am the one who created the "What's with all the anti-Jewish stuff on this site? I can understand being anti-Israel or anti-government or anti-media, etc." post, I'd like to make it clear that I am really disturbed by anti-white rhetoric that we are seeing in the media and in politics. I think it's racist and disgusting. I am against all anti-people rhetoric.

Just as my post stated, I can understand that people can be against certain governments, against certain politicians, and against the media. I never stated that I am interested in ending discussion about anything.

If the U.S. Govt did something wrong, would it be right to condemn all US citizens? I don't think so. That was the point of my post, and I am being 100% honest that it was a pure coincidence that another person made a similar post minutes apart from my post.

Can we talk about authoritarianism? by dykeotomy in censorship

[–]Grateful 16 insightful - 3 fun16 insightful - 2 fun17 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Authoritarianism is scary no matter what side it comes from.

I have major concerns of how many people I know support the suppression of free speech and ideas because it fits their views. An example is how twitter suppresses any political view that is not Democrat - this includes Libertarian or Independent political views. Since they hate the current President they are OK with it. I ask in a rhetorical sense "what about the next President and the one after that?" One day we will have a President that wants to start a war and if they are the "correct" political party, twitter will suppress any criticism of that President. By then it will be too late to have a public forum and they will not be able to voice their concerns.

As for what I believe in, I believe in discussion and the exchange of ideas and thought. I accept people for who they are, including their political views. I reject all forms of racism and sexism and all the -isms. If I meet someone for the first time, I don't give a shit if they like Ted Cruz or Elizabeth Warren.

Reddit has officially jumped the shark. I'm happy that they finally went and destroyed themselves and people like you are jumping ship. Hope this place works out for you and everyone else.

I recommend not going to reddit anymore. Why should you support a platform that silences your opinions? Why give them any content at all?

As for the future, the tech giants will silence any opinion that is not theirs. That's a sad fact that is blatantly obvious. Any alternative platform will be labeled "hate speech" and it will be shutdown.

I saw a lot of Haters on saidit getting their rocks off and salivating at the idea that this intelligent, beautiful, powerful obsession of theirs would take an L (LOL) How does it feel to be wrong about pretty much everything, and still support a broken, soulless, corrupt, criminal u.s. oligarchy? by EndlessSunflowers in pics

[–]Grateful 19 insightful - 4 fun19 insightful - 3 fun20 insightful - 4 fun -  (0 children)

Politics are not binary to me. It's not a hot faucet and a cold faucet with no other choices. I dislike AOC and her policies, and that fact by itself does not mean that I am supporting an oligarchy or anything else. The fact that I don't support AOC does not mean that I support certain other politicians.

For the record, I reserve the right to dislike any politician and their policies, anytime and anywhere. I apply this equally with no regard for gender, sexuality, race, looks, political affiliation, geographic location, or any other criteria.
