Nobody who does has spent much time with them.

They want to be there. The benefits are great, their job is relatively prestigious, and while it's hard to estimate the actual dollar value of everything their paid it's probably something like 40k which is pretty good for an 18 year old. Not a whole lot of people get purple hearts and if you ask them, they tend to be happy that they enlisted.

The people getting screwed are taxpayers, not soldiers. And sure, poor people fight in rich people wars yadayadayada, but they're well compensated and happy with the arrangement.

This is a satirical post where, without discussing whether or not the holocaust happened, I suggest that it's not an inherently hateful comment to deny that a genocide took place as most people deny in most instances that a genocide took place. Madagascar genociding France in 2018 is an arbitrarily selected instance where most people would deny that a genocide took place.

1.What are the best, most comprehensive and up to date resources regarding the demographic future of Europe?

No clue.

2.If IQ is heriditary then how come Middle Easteners, who cluster closely with Europeans JPG in genomic studies, average around the same IQ as African Americans?

Heritability doesn't mean that clustering together means having the same IQ. I probably cluster very closely with Magnus Carlsen, but his IQ is probably 60-80 points higher than mine. Heritability just means that your trait will be more similar to your identical twin.

Also, the brain varies more than the overall genome, so overall genetic similarity doesn't necessarily imply brain similarity.

3.How would you respond to studies like this one that argue that twin studies are methodologically flawed and therefore should not be used as proof for there being a genetic component behind IQ differences between racial groups?

Let's have a look.

Today, this methodology has been largely replaced in favor of contemporary molecular genetic techniques

This is a lie. Molecular genetics make worse predictions than quantitative genetic studies (aka twin studies) and this is well known by everyone. Molecular genetics studies are cited to see how well we've progressed at using molecular genetics, not to actually predict what the world is like.

heritability studies have seen a diminishing role in behavioral genetic research of the twenty-first century.

I doubt he has a citation for this. I think he just assumed this would be true based on his lie. If you can find a non-paywalled version of this study and tell me what evidence he cites, I'll consider it but my prediction is that this will be asserted without evidence. I'm busy right now, but try typing the doi into sci-hub. Let me know what (if anything) he writes about this statement.

One important reason the twin method has been superseded is that it depends upon several questionable assumptions, the most significant of which is known as the equal environments assumption

There is no equal environments assumption in twin studies. We just measure how different the twins are from one another. We know it's not perfect, but we also know the numbers give reliable predictions despite their imperfections.

Here, we review the evidence presented and conclude that these attempts to test the equal environments assumption are weak

Who cares if attempts to prove equal environment are false when the assumption is not "crucial" like this author says?

You measure people with identical genomes. Intelligence is 80% more similar than to the general population. Now let's grant the assumption that we know for absolute certain that the environments are very very different and not at all similar. Who cares, we still measured 80% more similarity based on genes. No assumption necessary.

Also, this author's rhetoric is kinda dumb. In the very different environments assumption version of this, the logical conclusion would be that heritability is underestimated because more similar environments would lead to IQs being even more similar. He didn't think this one through.

We conclude that the equal environments assumption remains untenable, and as such, twin studies are an insufficient method for drawing meaningful conclusions regarding complex human behavior.

Again, total non-sequitur.

Why would different environments invalidate the measured numbers? Are people with similar genetics not actually having more similar IQs? Like ok, different environments. Whatever. The numbers are still there and still predict the world around us.

I'm not an expert on France, but I know it works like that in the US because certain famous individuals got out of the draft for being incompetent before those individuals were famous. Both Jerry Garcia and Jimi Hendrix were drafted but let out due to failure to adapt. America was a more patriotic place in the 1960s and while what gets passed down through the ages is draft card burning hippie protests, most people probably just do what the government says and take pride in it.

This is probably negated by the fact that the average black also only gets among the lowest quality white women.

Honestly, it's probably not, at least not fully so. Very few white women sink below the level of black women. I'm not saying those kids will be 100 IQ on average, but their kids will probably be higher than what you'd expect just from averaging the two populations together.

France has a universal military conscription as a condition of citizenship though.

Conscription doesn't mean you automatically pass basic training.

What about Jensen suggesting heterosis played a part in enhancing the mulatto IQ? Do you feel he's completely wrong and it did not enhance it at all or that it's fairly insignificant and added at best around 1-2 points on average?

There's not a whole lot of evidence for heterosis and there's a competing hypothesis that it makes offspring worse. Ryan Faulk made a video going over it.

If I were to speculate, I'd speculate that the reason it seems plausible to people is due to assorted mating. If you're a black man with a white woman, you're probably the top tier of black men and so your children are going to test better than they would if you just average the two groups together.

[–]WaltzRoommate 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Rushton's paragraph seems to imply that to me.

Also this wasn't brought up, but passing basic training is also going to be a proxy for IQ. The US today believes that only the top 2/3s of applicants are smart enough to be trained for the military. That doesn't mean that if they just removed that requirement, everyone would be smart enough to pass. It means that according to the US military, the bottom third would fail basic training and it's just easier and cheaper to make them fail in the testing room before their first day than it is to have them drop. The bottom third would fall out with or without the ASVAB.

That being said, Rushton seems to me to be saying that they did.

Is this study accurate? by Soylent in debatealtright

[–]WaltzRoommate 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Probably not.

That study was taken on US military members. To get into the military, you need to take an ASVAB, which is basically an IQ test. Today you need to beat one out of three test takers to be allowed to enlist. Idk what the standard was back then, but it says in your wiki article that 3% of whites failed and 30% of blacks failed. Taken in context, this means that the mix between a white women and black person in the top 70% will have a higher IQ than a white woman and a randomly selected black. This should be very very very obvious.

I haven't seen it in a while, but here's my memory.

First, let's look at the fundamental premise. You have a guy who is inferior to the blacks around him in almost every single way. He's a reject, he loses fights, he got cucked by one of them and stayed with the girl afterwards, he gets stage fright, he lives with his mom in a trailer, his friends are losers, etc. The man's one saving grace is that unknown to the characters in the film, he is Eminem. The film's premise is that any ordinary or even less-than-eminem-but-still-extraordinary white would have been an absolute loser and the audience picks up on that message. It creates dread in a white audience.

Second, let's look at the fundamental message. The fundamental message of the film is that whites do not face anti-white sentiment, but rich people face anti-rich sentiment and whites are privileged enough to frequently see that, and that if white people give up their privilege then they can bond with blacks. This is demonstrated in Eminem's final "victory", where he defeats a black rapper by asserting that he is just as poor and deadbeaten as them. The message to the audience is that whites can be accepted only after giving up all signs of success and that blacks never held anti-white sentiment to begin with.

Third, let's look at the quick subversive things that were thrown in without any real follow-through. The film shows Eminem impressing a girl by defending a homosexual. The film shames a strong man by suggesting that he's on steroids. The praise for weakness is a psyop that's not talked about often. Third Eminem literally walks in on his girlfriend interracially cucking him and stays with her. Considering Eminem's role-model or idol-tier status, this is a normative statement of what boys should do and be okay with.

Fourth, let's look at shit just thrown randomly in there. Cheddar is a white person with absolutely no redeeming qualities. He serves no purpose in the plot. He only exists to get rejected by black girls, say stupid shit for no reason, and accidentally shoot himself. He only exists as a "white man dumb" statement and nothing else. Contrarily, they present some black-panther tier guy as the peak of black intellectualism.

This is all just from memory. I'm sure dozens more things would pop out at me if I rewatched it. That's what I remember from when I watched it years ago.

I'm just gonna write my thoughts in order.

1: If "stronger" means likely to win, then yes I think Biden is as strong or stronger than Obama. Trump's base is demoralized, barely shows up to rallies relative to 2016, and knows that he will not seriously change their lives. Trumptards now are a different breed than Trump supporters in 2016. In 2016, it was fresh intellectual energy and youthful charisma. Now it's the same exact people who voted for Romney, but more demoralized and with fewer moderates.

2: Rasmussen is a conservative pollster. If they say Trump is fucked then a voice not biased against him says he's fucked.

3: Florida is very diverse and diverse people hate Trump. His strategy of blacks and hispanics will be as fruitless as it was in the midterms and has been for every Republican ever.

4: Monmouth poll is probably correct too. Just because you don't like what the data says doesn't mean that the data is false. The fact that we're losing really really really badly doesn't refute that we're losing.

5: I was gonna say that the number of Republican voter registrations was a decent argument from this boomer, but he follows it up by saying that unpopularity with Republicans is the reason for Trump's bad numbers according to Rasmussen. He refuted his only decent sounding argument.

6: "The methodology of these polls is unsounds. I took a college course on this." ... Proceeds not to discuss these methods and why they're false.

7: Did he seriously just cite NBA rankings as an argument against political polling data? Smh.

Demographics have changed because the massive influx of legal immigrants is the only promise Trump made to anyone other than Israel and kept. His base got nothing and knows, even if they won't admit it, that the future of this country isn't on the line because he got nothing done. People like me think it's not worth their time to vote. I don't think Trump will even get 40% in this election. That's my prediction. Trump gets less than 40. Feel free to make fun of me if I'm wrong.

Afrikaners are culturally Dutch (with some extras). This is hardly comparable to Congolese culture.

Afrikaners have had a very long time to develop their own culture, much like Anglo-Americans are no longer truly English culture. Congolese white people would obviously not truly assimilate to Congolese blacks though and would come off as white people.

Sure, the differences are clearly smaller than dating some American-born Asian or African girl. I was just talking about this "little bit different".

It didn't cause issues though. A little bit of difference is fine.

That does make sense.

Assuming you are not trolling

Not an argument. Make an argument or GTFO.

You will hardly find anyone saying Stalin was great and especially not in the older generation, that actually lived in the 1940s.

Nobody says Stalin was great, but Germans do not defensively bring him up when Nazis are brought up.

Do you seriously claim, that no one (or at maximum a few) Germans, that lived in the eastern territories, is sad to have lost his home? Assuming you agree with me, that they are unhappy about this, do you believe they, at least partially, blame it on the Soviets and their puppets in Czechia and Poland?

I've never met a German with something to say on the matter. However, ethnic Germans that I know have assimilated into America and say that "We" won the war and Germans in Germany are glad that they lost.

I'd like to see a full audit of Ivy League schools to see if the SAT scores there are accurate. I could so easily see them using a metric other than a crude calculation of the mean scores of all their students. Perhaps discounting affirmative action or padding their scores by having many of the 2400s being foreign Chinese students who are well known to cheat.

That being said, graduating an Ivy League school will open many doors to you because even if it's not totally rational, businesses have a lot of respect for the school name and big businesses will have many Ivy League graduates who will extend an extra helping hand to other Ivy League graduates.

As for whether or not they're all better students, I didn't go to an Ivy League school and I knew plenty of students who easily could have gotten in. I'd bet that virtually everyone at Ivy League schools is at least a good student, if not a great student, but it's not like all Ivy League students are better than all non-Ivy students.

Whether it is 50 years from now or 250, where is the difference? The first genetically modified baby was already born in China. Sure, only one gene was changed, but the first computer also could only do some basic calculations.

I'm not convinced that it'll ever happen. A genetically modified baby doesn't imply that we'll figure something out this complicated, especially with structural issues that pose an existential threat to all the most scientifically productive nations in the world.

I doubt this. If some guy is born to black parents (but got modified to he genetically white) in Congo and lives there for 25 years until he decides to go to the US, will this guy just behave like the Americans? Sure, his chances to assimilate are higher, than if he was genetically black, but higher chances is not the same as guaranteed.

If his genes are white, then he'd be like any white immigrant from Africa. I've never met a white immigrant from the Congo, but I've met Afrikaners and I have no problems with them coming in.

Even if everyone would assimilate, do you really want to have a country, where 90% of all people are foreigners, that just happen to share most of their genes with you?

What you're describing is what we've have in a pan-European ethnostate. It's also what my experience would be if I moved to a foreign white nation like Norway or Hungary, both of which would be phenomenal if they were options for me. I see no issue here.

Here in my homeland many people ask me, whether I have a Swedish background, because I look like the Golden One (with fewer muscles). If I moved to Sweden, I would still always be a foreigner. Not only does my name identify me as a foreigner, but everyone also knew that I am from a different country. Especially I myself knew, that I am not from Sweden and hence can never become a "full Swede".

They'd act a bit different, but I wouldn't have a problem with it. I dated a fresh off the boat Ukrainian immigrant in undergrad and while her mannerisms were a little bit different, she was still just a good white girl. Her thick accent and modesty didn't really pose issues and I didn't feel like the gap was as wide as if I'd gone to date an American-born Asian or African girl.

Where is the difference to civic nationalism? Everyone can become a national by sharing our ideas and values in the civnat worldview. You want him to share your genes, but the basic idea is still that everyone can become part of our nation (if he fits some criteria, that is not connected to ancestry). I believe a nation is an organism, that has grown over centuries and even millennia.

The problem with civic nationalism is not that people could join. It's (a) that similarity of ideology, values, and personality is alienating to people like us who do not accept 21st century American cultural norms and (b) that since we have no practical way of testing for similarity of ideology, values, and personality, we wind up with vastly different and diverse sets of people who hate us. In a science-fiction society where we had some brainscan that could tell us if someone was sufficiently similar in their ideology, values, and personality and would remain that way, then civic nationalism would be functionally identical to genetic nationalism.

I personally know some Germans living in Canada, that came there in the late 1940s. They do not claim to have won the war. No, they will talk about the horrible crimes by soviet solders. Sure, there might be some. But once again, some are not all. I personally doubt, that anyone honestly believes to have won the war, even though he was a German, but ok maybe there are some.

I think you're just lying tbh. Even Germans in Germany don't talk this way. Germans in Germany will talk about losing the war, but they will not be anti-Russian about it. They'll speak thankfully about the allies who beat them.

My argument is, that basing your idea of nationalism purely on genetics is a dead-end. In a few decades from now, gene editing will make white genes a product that you can buy.

Well first, I'm extremely skeptical of this. Second, if they have the white genetics then what's the problem? They'd be indistinguishable from white people in terms of their group preferences, personalities, appearance, and identifications. Thirdly though, I repeat that I am very skeptical of this.

Genetic nationalism will cease to exist in the year 2070 or so.

Why would gene editing end genetic nationalism? People would still want to live amongst those with similar genetics.

but literally everyone can become white and thus the idea of a white race loses its meaning.

It doesn't lose its meaning. It just becomes accessible. Edited whites would be functionally the same as non-edited whites.

This concept should also include other factors like historical connection to our land and people, culture, etc.

Historically, this hasn't been necessary. When America was founded, white people immigrated here and took on white American history as their own. A german who's family came here in the 50s will say "We won WWII".

[–]WaltzRoommate 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That's retard accelerationism.

There's two kinds of accelerationism.

There's acceleration of bad things happening to you, which happens when you celebrate the enemy's victories. "They censored us? Yippee! We can't defend ourselves from physical assault anymore? Yay!" At it's absolute best, it's a cope to keep the losing side fighting. At it's worst, it's actively fucking yourself.

There's also acceleration of the discussion. When Trump got elected, it brought new discussions into the limelight and it began multiple protest movements. It empowered people to speak their mind (or at least duped people into believing they were empowered) and it moved the discussion closer to it's logical consequence.

People mistake retard accelerationism for accelerationism of the discussion all the time. They think, "Whites can't defend their property? Surely this will foster discussion." It doesn't foster discussion though. It intimidates people into silence while blue pills are spread globally.

[–]WaltzRoommate 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don't know. Leftists as of late have taken to simply lying about everything. Nationwide riots are "peaceful protests." Armaud Arbery was "just a jogger." Cancel culture "doesn't exist." Critical race theory - "nobody believes it." What's to stop them claiming the right is in power because really Biden is far-right and all those capitalists are in charge?

The far left is gone, but I do think normal people will see that we're just totally unrepresented. The average white man off the street, and including most leftists, already admit that corporations are against us.

For me, I ask this. "Will more people believe we are unrepresented with Biden or Trump in charge?" It's clearly Trump. Now, if he gave us anything and wasn't an annoying impotent jackass, then I wouldn't base my voting on this question... but he is, so I will. It won't convince everyone of what is obviously true, but it'll do more than Trump does in office.

Literally who cares if pedophile arrest rates are up?

Pedophilia is not an issue of Peter the Pedophile owning fucked up material to masturbate to. It's not even an issue of individual child rapists. Should these people be executed and sent straight to hell? Yes, but it won't solve our problem.

The pedophile problem is the problem underage people being trafficked on Pornhub and the Pornhub problem is people running Pornhub and the content that can be found on it, leading perverts to younger and younger porn stars in increasingly degrading situations. The pedophile problem is also a Hollywood problem. It's an Epstein financial globohomo problem. It's an LGBT "Mentorship is part of gay culture" lolbert problem.

It's all sorts of systemic shit that comes from the top. The man on the street who consumes child porn belongs in Hell, but he's usually some genetically ordinary-ish person who was led down the road to evil by the systemic creation of what Catholics call occasions of sin. It's not just some finite set of nameless faceless pedophiles, for whom the problem will go away once they're gone. Trump has ignored ALL of the big players and just arrested some street rats in ways that are like, good I guess but ultimately don't matter in the grand scheme of things.

Trump is the absolute worst kind of accelerationism.

Imagine there's a wasp hive in your living room. Everyone's afraid to go deal with it. Not wanting to look like a coward, most people decide not to even talk about it so that nobody will say they're just too afraid to deal with it.

And then one day walks in Donald, the would-be hero. He says he's gonna go do what nobody else is willing to do. Everyone gets excited he's gonna go fix the problem. Instead though, he kicks the goddamn hive and then goes to go run away while everyone gets stung. Everyone in the room gets some metaphorical equivalent of doxxed, censored, and discriminated against, while this asshole hides in the next room "monitoring the situation."

We're all flipping out. Shit's worse than ever before and it looks like Donald has abandoned the problem... but then he finally returns. Good. He'll fix it right? Nope. He kicks the nest again and then goes off to hide in the next room. And then he does it again an hour later.

Trump is like a military general who tells everyone under his command, "Okay men, tomorrow we attack the enemy. Don't bring weapons though. Just drink a lot of water. Our plan is to piss all over them, which will anger them greatly and trigger the libtards. Once they're good and angry, and completely undamaged, we'll proceed to do absolutely nothing. A lot of you will get shot by the enemy because of this, but we will not fire back. We won't even retreat. We'll just stand there like assholes getting shot. Be sure to bring two full canteens though, because periodically we're gonna start pissing all over the floor while they shoot us."

At what point should I be voting Biden just to get rid of this asshole? Removing Trump wouldn't put the wasps back in their hive. It wouldn't get all of our "soldiers" unshot. However, we have a radically incompetent idiot in charge and sometimes removing the incompetent idiot is a good idea... even if you get absolutely no compensation for the damage he's done. Youtube will not restore censored accounts when Biden is elected, but at least they won't react to the retarded thing Trump does in 2022. It won't unkick the wasp's nest, but at least it'll spare us from the kick Donald would have does in the next hour, had he not been removed from the house.

Trump is the acceleration of anti-white hatred and he's the acceleration of censorship. He's the acceleration of us losing. He does nothing good for us.

Start with Kant's prolegomena.

Also, read Bennett's version. Autistic snobs will tell you to read the original. I always reply to them that unless you're fluent in German, you're already not reading the original. Bennett's project is to translate texts not only into English, but also into a contemporary dialectic. Kant's a very difficult read so what most university students do is clumsily waffle their way through it, understanding virtually nothing, and then remember the professor lecture as well as they can. The professor's lecture is generally a shittier version on Bennett in that it's a professional philosopher turning 18th century German into 21st century English.

I have a degree in philosophy and when I took my first class on Kant, I accidentally read the Bennett version because I just googled for the PDF of the assigned texts instead of buying the book. Everyone thought I was some sort of super genius for being able to understand him so easily and explain him so clearly, when in reality I was just using better study materials. I aced the class with minimal effort, having lost absolutely nothing by not reading the original. I only learned who Bennett was when writing the final essay when the professor let me know that my citations were not to the original text. She said Bennett's a good philosopher though and that learning Kant the way that I accidentally did was not inherently bad, but provided some snobby justifications for suffering through the "original" book.

[–]WaltzRoommate 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I haven't read the original study, but I don't understand why most people can't be above average. Virtually all humans have an above average number of arms, for instance. I also don't see why it's taken for granted that in areas like comedy, laymen can't be funnier than comedians. Most people I know or follow online are not comedians but they make me laugh more than comedians do. In fact, I don't watch comedians because I find them to be generally below average at humor.

That being said, I definitely am not a skeptic about the dunning-kruger effect. I just have a few small gripes with certain things about how it's been presented to me. I think the people who've never been in a race argument before, who think they know more than everyone here, and then incorrectly define "heritability" are fine examples.

In other words, it becomes less like your environment and more like your genes. Depending on whether you were given a better environment or whether you have better genetics, it'll go up, down, or stay the same.
