In the comments of an r/TwoSentenceHorror post, we are reminded that cops are always and forever the real enemy... by LordoftheFlies in MeanwhileOnReddit

The fake cop bashing on Reddit is really tiring. Not just in itself but because you know that most of them are the types who would call the cops for the most petty, frivolous reasons. I saw a thread on one of my local subs where someone said “they thought they heard” a racist joke at a driving range and someone suggested calling the cops in case a racist assault happens nearby. When they think they’re clever and don’t outright say call the cops because they actually want everything policed everywhere, they’re always saying to appeal to some limp-wristed authority figure, like state regulators because your job made you mad.

The trick is to become a mod and just ban them on false pretenses.

Seriously though, I went to Gab for 6 months and came back to Reddit briefly and it still amazes me how much more cooperative of an environment Gab was. It’s known for it’s trolls but I didn’t really see much of anyone getting into fights they didn’t help instigate and I had 90% positive interactions as someone who only tried to build people up. Whereas, if I even just search for info on Reddit, I can find old threads where people literally are picking on children for not understanding how the world works or mocking the grocery store people use or fighting over their own misreading of comments. This is the “mainstream” outlet. They’re not even acting like children, they’re below children.

I was surprised to be reminded yesterday that Reddit wants an IPO. At this point, it’s basically woke urban liberal Yahoo Answers, with pictures and porn. The magic, if you even want to call the old crap that, is long gone.

I was thinking today that even ChatGPT in some ways displaces it - as useless as ChatGPT is in many ways, it won’t instantly delete your more mundane questions for “violating tEh rules” or reply with snarky gatekeeping. Since normal human beings only use Reddit for ELI5 style questions, that’s a serious shift.

Based on my experience with trying to use dating sites in a red area (albeit one that is quickly turning purple), it seems surprisingly common. I am curious how much these apps filter to actively promote it. There seems to be endless left-wing young women who call themselves non-binary, asexual, bi or queer and tbh, I can’t even tell if their sexuality is that different from straight because they’ve been trained to make a bigger deal of these labels than they deserve.

I can’t say I know anyone directly who is trans but my normie friends know people who are. This was true 15 years ago too and I don’t particularly believe it’s changed, it’s just been made a big deal by the media.

I distrust right-wing groups that want it to be the main thing because it seems to be the main way to distract from race right now.

This is why a sane society doesn’t just take the Abbie Hoffman/Crimethinc line about shoplifting - that repeat shoplifting is just a victimless expropriation from capitalists. Repeat shoplifting opens the door to something as simple as a shove happening. A shove can lead to a fatal injury even with a healthy person if they fall on the spine the wrong way. But disproportionately, the victim will be someone vulnerable working a job like that, like this elderly man or perhaps a pregnant woman.

All I can say is they don’t get within arm reach of me. Can’t blame others for not thinking about it that way but hopefully, we all do.

Do you getting a college education is a good thing? by 8thmonitor in debatealtright

[–]Mr9to5 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I think there’s a lot of wishful thinking on the Right about opting out of college, especially in the Libertarian American Right. The truth is you really have to have a concrete plan to opt out of college and have it work in a way where you can support a family. Same if you go to college, too. But guys will be like “ahh but I’ll learn a trade” or “I’m going to leave Commie Seattle where I have roots and move to Montana with no connections to live the Trad life” - but then they never do it and end up all financially screwed up. I know solid guys who are things like pipefitters and make good money- but I’d tell a kid who is 18 or 19 and wants to do that, you got to hang out with guys who can get you in there right now, so you can place in a year. Networking is maybe more important when you’re starting blue collar than white collar. Maybe even certifications are more important when you’re blue collar for a lot of things, too.

I literally spent college drawing crucified skinheads in my notebook and skipping class to read books by Gobineau you couldn’t check out in the library. I was considered a high performing student and it literally consisted of me reading 10-20 pages a class a week and regurgitating reformulated ideas. I hate lectures because I saw no point because I actually read what they were just reading slowly on a PowerPoint. Nonetheless, I couldn’t do what I do today without a degree and ironically, I got my degree heavily subsidized under a program for “minority students” that included a clause that very low income (white) students could also qualify. It’s stupid as heck but people get too caught up in ambiguity - a lot of things are ambiguous and weird under this system because it’s very artificial but if you see a net advantage to doing something, hey, I did it. My only regret is I wish I’d been in a program focused on hard skills, like accounting or computer science. I unfortunately opted for a soft skill major but made it work. And like the blue collar path, it always has to come back to developing some kind of vision a program can’t give you.

No word yet on if actual exposure to “racist extremists” helps them better understand anything about us.

One of the most popular regional radio shows in my area used to broadcast in the 90s/early 2000s about immigration, to the point of getting people to show up at city halls, troll call local politicians and actually to some degree, show up. People loved it and would tune in religiously. I still have fond memories of my Mom driving me home from middle school and listening to them troll some Chicano activist by saying “how it was time to impound the clown cars and send them back.”

A lot of it is moral cowardice. That same show had a minor spat with a black activist, got woke and has not touched anything resembling the racial angle since. Last I listened to them, I almost called in to curse them out because they were talking about all the type of (implicitly white/native born) workers who don’t actually deserve their jobs, like the good cuckservative traitors they decided they’d rather be.

I’ve tried not to discourage young guys from joining NJP because I feel like they’ve tried to be responsible and I may even give it a shot - but I have similar feelings. I’m only a couple people separated out from someone who went down under RICO. He was living a totally benign lifestyle and had become a born again Christian - but they grabbed him on old stuff to get him to testify. The old guard gets it, I wish I could get some of these young guys to watch more stuff by prison vloggers and similar sources to get a sense for how the American legal system treats people it doesn’t like - not to discourage them but to prepare them, you need to be ready for a dirty fight. You’ve got to try to look as bland as a church mouse when you’re outside of something like a rally - but also assume they’ll treat you like you have a swastika tattooed on your face. It’s not a game.

Yes, that was me. I’m writing off the cuff but he wrote quite a bit on misanthropy/the general failings of people in Essays and Aphorisms and Counsels and Maxims. He proposes a kind of neo-Stoic ethos as a way of coping with the way people are. That’s what initially pulled me in and those are fine reads.

World as Will and Representation can be read in a very fascist light - though Schopenhauer doesn’t go there, he passes by it many times. He writes how nature only cares about the species, not the individual. At one point, which I think certainly influenced Nietzsche, he considers that if human beings are driven by will (instinct) one could embrace life as a constant battle and “renounce” it that way, living heroically. He shys away and says it’s not the best ideal - but almost goes there. He views aesthetics and high culture as a way of escaping the meaninglessness of our daily life.

Hitler was said to carry a copy with him on the Front during World War 1. Wagner said his religion was Schopenhauer.

I think it’s something that probably has come around full circle - or it could be a new group of people following the same line of thought to the same conclusions. The situation was very similar back then.

Back then, there was a weak Buchanan/American Conservative Catholic thing in the US but it never really got anywhere because America ultimately remains a nation with a significant number of people who are ambivalent to Catholicism. Still, I looked at Catholicism and so did many others. The best there was to be found was stuff like Rod Dreher. There was also the perpetual Pope Problem - what to do about the fact the Papacy ultimately has been diverted to globalist goals?

Out of that and the first period of a significant number of people reading about Guenon/Evola (and to a lesser degree, the Iron Guard) came the idea of using Orthodox churches as both a spiritual and political basis. Doing so was “more nationalist” and “purer Christianity,” all without the Pope problem.

This was all very politically flawed because Orthodox Christianity is rare in America and the populations associated with it generally don’t want that type of uninvited outside attention. Heimbach ran into that, he was apparently inspired to enter politics from these ideas but when the heat was turned up, was quickly disowned.

One thing I definitely wouldn’t have expected was the Groypers. Traditional Catholicism is a more reasonable way to synthesize these ideas but I still wouldn’t have expected it to have had any success as a brand.

I agree none of this truly has to do with Dugin, more Western spinned “Duginism.” It’s been a decade since I read Fourth Political Theory but I don’t recall him saying half the thing people try to tack on him, including this stuff.

I have a feeling few people here will remember this period but around 2010, there was a real attempt to try to get movement people to become Orthodox Christians, vaguely inspired by Dugin fanboys. There was a website called the Orthosphere that encouraged this view and let people put themselves on a map to find other interested people. Unsurprisingly, no one for hundreds of miles was interested in this niche, dubious ideology.

I later visited a Russian Orthodox Church in hopes oil magnets praying there would adopt me and I could marry a based blonde. There were some hot babes but I had no idea what was going on for the nearly 2 hours of bowing and vernacular that isn’t my vernacular. I concluded this was not a magic pill to save the West. Alas, the highest accomplishment of the great Orthodox proselytization campaign was determining the fate of Matt Heimbach’s soul.

It’s a reflection of the Paleocon impulse. He started at The American Conservative, which I used to religiously follow. Many of the authors there circa 2000s when he was an editor would drop these vague threats of switching to the Democrats because they were upset the Republicans would never give them what they want. It’s part of an older playbook. Buchanan even has a history of saying things like he has more in common with Nader than most Republicans.

My reading of the last week in particular is he’s gone from trying to maybe implement that idea, like a reborn Buchanan finally trying it, to just being lost. 2016, he had a dubious but energetic playbook. The Spencer 15 minutes of fame are over this year and so we’re getting a spew of nonsense about Trump shadow governments and base Biden and plain old trolling.

  1. The author of the letter is an ultra-Orthodox Jew who is a literal billionaire. He made much of his fortune from running nursing homes with a long history of abuse. This is well documented via Google and he’s faced little consequences.
  2. A Pew survey found most ultra-Orthodox Jews (“Haredi”) make well above the average American’s income, often six figures. I’m having trouble finding this atm but believe it’s in here: https://www.pewforum.org/2013/10/01/jewish-american-beliefs-attitudes-culture-survey/

Locally, most people who are Catholic or Mainline Protestant are utterly cucked for Leftism and the rest of the “Evangelical” churches I’ve seen are full of people who drifted in as a “get out of jail free” card for their own dysfunctional lives... I care not if this crew of misfits labels me “degenerate,” while trying to be respectful enough not to be counterproductive, I live by Laws much older than their creed.

My take is that we need to be VERY careful if Trump loses. Ex-Trumpers are a possibly disruptive force in Nationalist politics. Too many of them are prone to running their mouths about guns and violence, even when they know they aren’t going to do jack. Worse, some of them may be dumb enough to actually want violence. They are not used to the idea of maintaining high privacy and security standards while engaging in legal activism and could create massive leaks. They could totally wreck groups like Patriot Front if they are allowed to join en masse.

If Trump wins, Israel is going to, like, triple in size as he gives them random pieces of land that we suddenly “wanted them to have all along.” Also, everything else will probably melt down from the cultural panic on all sides.

If Biden wins, it’s just going to be the Obama years but dumber, reflecting the drop in IQ from brain damage over another decade of decline.

Either way, we will be more banned than ever - but probably with low efficacy, as we will have even less to lose than now...

The main problem with that approach is that it’s easy to set-up a filter to block it. I’d distill down the essence of these kinds of talking points and put it in your own words. Or flyer it IRL.

Besides, the mantra is so prolific that many people have mental filters up against it. I’d say I’ve actually had more success getting people to think critically when I poked a little fun at it, while hinting that it’s still the right idea.

He was hinting at a third party run last year. In that regards, I think he chose the smarter approach between this and that. If he had run under these bizarre conditions, even a slight impact could lead to him being blamed for Trump losing (whether it makes sense or not.) A Spencer run (or similar event by, for example, National Justice) would be a great organizing and networking opportunity- but better when things are at their bluest. Less will stand to be lost and more will be ready to be recruited.

This is a great self-promotional move because as you alluded, everyone will stand up to badmouth it to make themselves look good. Personally, I wish we could recruit out of the Left/run as Democrats, particularly if we could pull resources from the Woke world by winning a place in the DNC - but in all likelihood it’s too damn unrealistic.

I mean, I’ve indicated which countries I’m referring to. It’s still going to require some knowledge of Nationalist history or at least a cursory reading of the Wikipedia pages to digest it. National Front UK and NPD Germany are both things you should read up on to get a sense of our history, to make it more explicit. NF achieved such a significant breakthrough that it briefly was the fourth biggest party in the UK and laws have literally been changed to try to ban NPD. 3P is used within this board to mean Third Position.

I’m an American but I’ve always thought of myself in terms of the paradigms of British Nationalism. I like speaking in terms of analogous organizations because speaking of only ideals can be ambiguous. I started out as someone who would have supported an American version of BNP (ie a populist nationalist), spent many years as a radical traditionalist elitist after growing frustrated with the limitations of populism - someone who would’ve liked to participate in something akin to NF Political Soldier. Now, I’m more of a basic 3P type person, perhaps interchangeable with an NF member or an NPD member in Germany. I know my beliefs probably can’t win here but I wouldn’t mind networking with similar people to try to change things at the local level. The key parts of my worldview are the “Social” aspect, solidarity with people I consider like me and the Discipline or “Elitism” aspect, wanting my People to hammer away at themselves to be the best. I consider this the best synthesis of the radical traditionalist and other cadre models and the various Social world views, Left and Right.

The only political group I’ve belonged to has been the Constitution Party but I get the impression they are easing off immigration and going more libertarian, I don’t like it at all. Typical American garbage.

You could be surprised. I had a long period where I just decided that I’d scout out every “next best thing” - go to shows with music similar to right-wing genres, attend religious groups where “maybe” there’d be people like us, attend quasi- close political things. I’d say I have a good half-dozen people now that I consider trustworthy, morally good and similar ideologically. They’re spread across about a 70 mile radius from me but it’s comforting to know they’re there. I could know another dozen or so more but they were lower quality and had to be filtered out.

Just go with your interests, politics are seldom the only thing that overlap with similar people.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I find things like math fun. I didn’t when I was in school because I was anxious about failing and didn’t learn it properly. I mean, for what they mean, you really have to ask them. For us, they certainly do not like when we show up at something like CPAC but that’s different.

How do you define "cancel culture"?

I think it’s a lame conservative way of talking about censorship without talking about total media control and the power structure behind why things are being censored. I posted this rant the other day somewhere else, thought it may add to the discussion:

“I’ve always hated the term “cancel culture” and I think I can finally articulate why. The problem isn’t that they canceled a character on a show. The problem is they’re at WAR with YOU! They don’t want you thinking your own thoughts about the hell they’ve created in our society. They don’t want your children to think like you, they barely even tolerate that you exist. It’s not what’s on TV that matters, it’s what happens in your life. You are a target to them whether you like or not, to hell with a fictional character!”

I always take it back to the immediate control level and then work it as hard as I can.

Realize your existence is first and foremost biological. Eat a simple, monk-like healthy diet. I usually eat overnight oats, one bean and rice dish and then some floating not-unhealthy protein based meal with vegetables daily.

Quit alcohol and intoxicants. If it’s hard, go to AA or SMART, even if “you’re not that bad.” You will meet young people operating in the kind of social community we lost when people stopped going to church. Some of them will be shitty but the majority are good, some are very good but had coping issues. You can sponsor our people of all functioning levels to be radically better than they would’ve been.

When Covid dies down, consider doing something like training for a 5 or 10k. Aerobic fitness is good and it’s a social opportunity. Try to do most of your training on a treadmill to protect your joints and maybe stick to doing it seasonally. You could practice organizing by organizing a team with your friends. If you enjoy weightlifting, that’s even better.

Meditate to have a clear mind. Pick up a few books on cognitive therapy to learn to straighten out self-upsetting thinking and turn it into goal directed thinking. Feeling Good by David Burns is a good basic one. Always try to convert things that upset you into goals to change them.

Read Might is Right (especially the chapter on money, I think chapter 5) multiple times. How I Found Freedom in an Unfree World is libertarian but a good book, too. Definitely read the chapter on what government can and cannot do. Both are available for free online.

Beyond that, try to make friends who are similar and share stuff with them. Making them more effective is easier than redpilling people.

I don’t think that’s the best way to say it because it looks kooky to people with little context.

But I also hate exactly what you’re reacting to. It makes everything that I’ve tried to do IRL suck. I want to scream at these people sometimes, I’ve met a bunch of them. No, I don’t care more about the damn mask thing than immigration. You say you care about both, then grow a pair and stand up for both. And you better be concerned about both legal and illegal immigration or you’re a cuck and you know it. No, I don’t want “freedom” that kills Western countries. No, the Proud Boys aren’t anything, screw them. No, I don’t support Ben Shapiro because he made a funny about AOC. Enough about AOC, you should be putting pressure on your local Republican congressperson to not be crap. If we were serious, they’d be facing insurgent third party runs from us when they mess around for local seats.

I could go on... I think if we ever have power, we need to take a note from this system, trademark the word nationalist and sue everyone over it. I left libertarianism over much of the bullshit numbskulls are trying to bring into our thing. They see libertarianism is failing them and are trying to make this cuckservative 3.0.

It certainly feels that way. I basically never met a TG person naturally IRL, until I interacted with a lefty group from the Bay Area. Then, I met, like, 5 TG people at once. All into the same political ideologies, all doing stuff like using "they" pronouns. Similarly, on dating sites, I seem to get like a 50/50 ratio, 50% hetero women (which is all my settings should give me) and 50% some kind of LGBT person calling themselves a woman but either lesbian/"questioning"/"asexual" or transgender insisting on being labeled female without qualification. This doesn't reflect my experience with my environment at all and must be closely clustered, like-minded people who only interact with each other.

I think people with the right motivations will find a home, like here. I first came to Reddit to read /r/new_right when I saw an article from Alain de Benoit there. That was about 2012, peak free speech on the site.

It was good to see people learning and having fun with the humor. But a lot of the material that became famous was crap, as far as people seriously learning an ideology well enough to argue for it. How much serious zeal can people get from a racial joke meme? And even the quality nationalism material was ultimately sharing a platform with subreddits dedicated to serial killers, illegal porn and drugs. Reddit was always beneath us. It was a short-term strategy to be on there, it’s a gutter to pull people up from and to be very afraid of falling down to the same level of.

I’ve noticed the same thing that you’ve noticed with Yaron over the last few days as I’ve taken in his talks. I’m in one of those periods I go through every few years where the situation seems so lost that the temptation to look for a substitute ideology comes up and Objectivism inevitably one. Not because Objectivism is all that great - but because it’s socially acceptable, young people who could grow to better ideologies often dabble in it and it contains so many things that are red pills to people who are utterly conformist. It’s hard to get people to go out and think at all when they’re adults and you have to explain to them what it means to make their own darn value judgements!

What inevitably has frustrated me each time is you tend to end up in “Objectivist” fan groups with a ton of white males who either: 1. Are over 40 and have dadpants conformist racial views (“We just need black libertarians!”) 2. Are 20 and want to compete with liberals in terms of open border degeneracy

Ironically, I think the still very Jewish inner circle of ARI is less caught up in the mental traps that create these crappy ideas. Keep in mind that this doesn’t make them “based,” either, they will always have their own hang-ups that become obvious if you listen to them long enough. Those hang ups will always present a problem for any “alliance.”

My take: share his videos to normies. See how they react. Proceed accordingly, hopefully taking some to more interesting places.

I wouldn’t support ARI directly because an organization like that could use you and turn on you. But I’ve considered starting something like an independent “liberty” book club, selecting titles carefully to get people going the right way.
